    The quoted post implies that this is not the case, since individual missions in an arc could have widly different level ranges, and because a mission featuring a villain group which spans 1-50 (council) would be a 1-50 mission, not restricted to a 5 level band, as happens in Ouroborros..

  4. I'm planning on using the BP (and sky raiders) in my arc "The Secret of the Curse of Pirate Jefferie's Treasure Island". I was going to specify the arc as 25-30, but it looks like I may not be able to do that.

    I'm a bit concerned that players might not find out what level a mission is until they are in it.

    But this is where not being able to flag the zombies he summons as undead becomes a problem...

    Although, in this case the Necromancy MM set could be useful.

    Unfortunatly those zombies don't have the glowing rune on thier chest.
  6. As far as I know, there are no BP units in the 31-39 level range. The higher level ones where added lataer for a couple of portal missions.

    Snakes have an even more dramatic split range. I think it's 1-15 and 45-54.

    Interesting that it is on a par mission basis rather than a per arc basis, and it appears that you don't select the mission level: it it determined by the mobs you choose.

    He doesn't say what happens if mob A is 1-20 and mob B is 40-50.

    And I think the BP is 20-30 and 40-45.
  8. There is one thing I would like with cursom mobs which thier doesn't seem to be available, in the screenshots: flagging as "undead" or "robotic" or "keldian" with respect to special damage.


    Oh, yeah, something else that doesn't seem to have been answered yet: If you want to play an outleveled mission in the MA, does it autoexemplar?
  9. Well, you are missing the bit where tickets are awarded for other people playing and rating your arcs: farming may not be the best way to get tickets.

    I think they stick the "hero" label overy a variety of different true ranks.

    I would say those ones seem like EBs.

    That wasn't what I had in mind.

    To get the AI to behave sensibly, it is useful to limit the number of powers it has to choose from.

    "none" as a secondary, but not as a primary perhaps?

    All that is really needed for that is pool A random drops, pool B random drops, and convert to reward merits.

    There would have to be some restictions, since some mobs use non-humaniod skelletons, the animations wouldn't work.

    The level that you choose your mob to be should at least affect what powers are available. Other things might affect it to (e.g. rank). Tweeking the AI (melee or ranged) will affect wether or not a power is actually used. There are a few dev comments dropping hints around.

    What I would actually like to know is if you can assign NPC sets to a custom model. I want to create robot EBs with malta sapper powers for one of the missions I have planned.

    Powersets, yes, but your ability to chose individual powers is limited.

    And it's possible some powersets may be unavailable.

    Ice Armor needs sets/pools to get anywhere close to the def cap.

    I don't have Weave (for concept reasons), and I don't normally hit the cap until I manage to get my second EA fired off.

    No, I said it was permable with 4 level 15 common IOs.

    (I'm not 100% sure, but I think the protection starts at the begining of the cast time anyway).

    Yes, but I was talking about standard play, not at teany levels (which pass so quickly I rarely bother slotting them at all) after you get it 3 slotted with SOs/higher level IOs, and have GC.

    Of course, once you start adding in common effects like Hasten, set bonuses and stuff, it rises to 120% or more. And then the mezzes still have to hit you through positional defense to actually affect you.

    Personally, having played both, and ignoring other things in the sets, I would choose AD ahead of Wet Ice as my mez protection, because I have been [censored] far to many times by Fear effects, but I have never, ever, been [censored] by slows with AD.

    Ok, checked my maths, and it's actually 50% recharge slow that is required to bring down AD for a fraction of a second.

    The difference is, Shields does not have a psi hole, as positional defense works against most psionic attacks, and AaO works against all psi attacks in melee range. Shield tankers can quite easily tank Psi Clockwork king. I tanked him with my shield scrapper. And I don't have Aid Self, or Tough, or Weave.

    It's true, I find I miss an awful lot of the low level content because it's virtually impossible to go through those levels slowly now. I guess I'm going to have to start turning on the no XP option.
