Ok, To Hit isn't debuffed by IC: Blind. (nor is perception).
Given that poster mentioned Controllers and Phantom Army, I don't think they whee talking about Smoke Grenade. -

Anyone who doesn't see anything threatening in a bunch of fairies, doesn't know much about fairies... -

MA mobs SO need pistol/bat set. It could be patterned after assault sets, available only to mobs, and between pistol attack, baseball bat attack, 3 thug MM attacks and some auras here and there we can find required 9 animations. OTOH, err... agricultural persons would abuse it by making pistol-toting LVL 54s.
[/ QUOTE ]
Needs to include Throw Rock.
You could assign - x% XP to "weak" sets, although it isn't hard to design a weak custom mob as is if you try (or you could design mobs that do all fire damage, them farm them with a fire tank). -
[ QUOTE ]
My blind isn't working as it should with custom mobs. It works fine on meele mobs, but all ranged mob s are still happily fiering away with deadly accuracy even when blinded.
[/ QUOTE ]
Illusion Control Blind has no effect on accuracy. It never has done. It is a Hold, with a minor secondary Sleep effect.
The chances are you where trying to use in on custom mobs with a defense set, and therefore mez protection. -
When I say an arc is soloable, I mean it's soloable by a solo friendly AT, such as a scrapper, tanker, brute, MM or stalker.
If you can't solo a mission because your character has no mez protection, then tough. You wouldn't be able to solo some regular missions either.
Most MA story missions are more difficult than regular missions, and you may have to play on a lower difficulty setting than you are used to. This is good, the game is to easy. -
Would rather loose the joke: it's meant to be a reference to the character in the Monkey Island games, known as Voodoo Lady.
-
I got two in The Steel and Gold Affair, mission one (after the Col. complained about the PPD being to wimpy).
I did a whole PPD Riot squad, but they look more like the Met. -
Well, if they nerf xp and inf, they can balance that by leaving ticket rewards high.
And arcs that don't award tickets (devs choice) could give full xp and inf. -
I think it is invevitable that they put a % penalty on XP and Inf, at least in the short term. That is something that is technically easy to do, and so can be done quickly. -20% aught to be sufficient.
In the long term, the whole rewards values needs a good going over, but probably the way to prevent farming causing problems with the economy wherever it might be occuring is to put a cap on the xp/inf that can be earned in an hour. A high cap shouldn't have an adverse effect on non-farming players. -

Fact is, a lot, probably the majority, of players (and indeed the players of all MMOS) just want to get as powerful as possible as quicklyas possible. They never read the story, it is irrelevent to them.
Where did all these farmers come from? They sure wheren't all in PI. Many of them are actually new and returning players, attracted by the MA, making it a massive commerical success.
Another fact: CoX needs to have someing that CO doesn't in order to compete. Since CO stole the suggestions list, MA is it. It sure can't compete by adding new content. However much they add, CO will have more, a whole new games worth more.
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem with that approach is Churn PRAF. People are going to hit 1-50 in a few weeks, do the small amount of high level content we do have and then move on to other things since "there's no endgame. This sucks"
At the same time they are alienating a lot of the people who have been around for ages, looked forward to the MA and are now awash in a sea of Farm spam
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, and a lot of players actually like to churn through games, that's one of the reasons they farm, so that they can getb through in a month without having to renew thier subs (which is an issue for younger players especially).
However, the problem is with the rewards, not the MA itself, and I'm sure the devs will soon get on top of that. the farmers also think that, which is why they are so frantic now, they know they only have a short time before all their farms are nerfed. -

Voodoo is filtered!?

Yup. I had to call the boss in the first mission of Jefferies' Vodou Lady (which is the Haitian spelling, and therefore a little more erudite, if obscure). -
I agree, you can't draw that conclusion that CoX players are uncompetative because PvP isn't popular. It's simply because the PvP is rubbish.

Not if you make a point of visiting the fateweaver first.

I wouldn't say remove all together. It's a matter of finding the balance. At the moment, the rewards encorage peopleto use the MA for farming. If you reduce that, at some point the MA will be less effective for farming than playing missions, so the farmers will start to disperse elsewhere (back to PI basically). Make the rewards too low, and too many people will go away.

I've just did an MA mission, titled 'Get XP', which is an outdoor mission with Rikti Comms officers. It exists only to allow players to earn more xp than normal mobs - a pure farming mission. No story. No plot. Nothing except grinding out XP.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm reminded of Mary Whitehouse deliberately watching "smut" on TV, just so she can write outraged letters of complaint to the BBC.
If farming offends you so much, why do a mission marked "get XP"? Why not go to the MA section of the forums, and look through the list of arcs advertised there?
However, I agree that the MA should have greatly reduced xp and inf. I was extremly suprised when they said mobs would give full rewards. I would happily make use of it for no reward at all. It is the best thing ever added to this game. -
I've had 100% successful spawns.
I've used that map myself (in Jefferies'), and spawned a boss of an objective, and tested it dozens of time, and the boss has never failed to spawn. -
Currently playing "Exchange of Words". "late arrival" in mission 4 spawned without problem.
I think if the mission objective text appears, the mob must have spawned. It is possible it spawns under the map occasionally. -
Finding good arcs is difficult.
However, the best arcs are way way beyond anything the devs have done.
And actually creating arcs is the most fun I have had in this game ever. -

No one just starting out wants to run for 3-5 minutes just to get to a mission and as has already been mentioned,

Treat the journey as a mission. Take your time, look at the scenery, and fight the mobs you encounter along the way. It will be more fun, and you will gain a couple of levels in the process.

but a game needs to grow the player, the player doesn't need to grow in order to play the game.
to make that simple, the game needs to level you while you are playing, but the current mercy(and some atlas and galaxy mission) sends you across the whole map with enemy's 3x stronger then you around there.
as it is, there are design flaws, and they need to be fixed.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you fight mobs you encounter on route, the mobs near the mission won't be 3x your level, because you will have leveled up a couple of times on route. the game is designed arount the idea that you will street hunt (and hence, grow) between missions. Mercy is a great place for street hunting. -
[ QUOTE ]
Capping the level to 10 in that mission is hard. You only have two spawns to play with in the first place. It is a tiny map.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can use the main map enemy group to cap the level, even if you have filled up all the spawn points with other stuff, so the map enemy group never actually apear in the mission. -
I find it more odd that Hardcase associates with villains myself!
