Kings Row, Gathering
Quote:"Fine fine, ignore me! Not like I have anything meaningful to contribute here..."
Mirel watched Amatus go with a shrug, He really does want to go to that Portal Corps doesnt he, acting rashly enough to put my uncle to shame
Quote:"Just said we're not likely to just up and hand it over to you. So sorry, but you're not king **** around here like you might be in your own dimension. You might want to get used to that fact, people here don't fall on their faces and worship someone just because they have powers."Quote:"I could always shoot you in the knee-caps, teach you how it feels," Silver offered with a smirk, but a slight flare in one optic also hinting he was only half joking.
She moved a hand to point at the captain, My vote would be to go to this City Hall, there we can ensure I get some nice diplomatic quarters for us all -
Kings Row, Gathering
Quote:If this were civilisation the peasants would be bowing to me Mirel muttered under her breath, not liking uppity mortals one bit."Just my opinion here and everything." the wanderer commented, offering a slight smirk in Mirel's general direction, "But as strange and bizarre this world is, I think it's safe to say that we're all in civilisation right now. I suggest we find to competent hands -here- to pass this junk onto, if at all, yeah?"
But, while we wait for whomever the ruler of this city is to send some men to reward us for our wonderful work here, why dont we all get to know each other better, thats good isnt it?
She took this opportunity to sit on the hard tiled sidewalk, seemingly perfectly comfy on it, despite wearing what looked like some quite heavy armour. -
Kings Row, Battle Site/Gathering
Quote:Mirel put her hands on her hips, her armour plate clanking slightly, as a frown made itself known on her apparently already healing face."Good luck with that", both Ildelas replied almost in unison, in the same voice and everything. In rather comical fashion they then turned and looked at each other with identical amused smirks.
Would someone care to explain why that might be a problem? If we leave it all just laying around here its only a matter of time before another Anathema She paused to almost spit that word out, Shows up to try and claim it all, and you saw the damage one did here
She gestured around to the reasonably impressive amount of damage their fight with the Soldier of the Most High had caused.
Itd be worse if those backwards idiots from Lookshy found their way here too, either way, we need to get some of this stuff back to civilisation and then see about getting a legion or three to help protect it, maybe some monks too -
Kings Row, Tram Crash Site/Hero Meeting
With most of the situation all but sorted, Mirel indicated to one of the civilians to take over her task of directing as she strolled up to the gathered assortment of people, grin still on her face.
There, now thats done, maybe we can finally arrange for me to have an audience with whoever rules this place? All this First Age Tech She paused, gesturing at where Mechanos hologram had been. Really needs to get shipped back to the Realm, for the good of Creation of course. -
Kings Row, Monorail Crash Site
Quote:Mirels face lit up like a child who had just been told she could have free reign in a candy store."Well, good thing there is a doctor on hand I suppose." Amatus said. "I don't suppose you could rally all these other serfs together to help retrieve the wounded?" He asked Mirel.
Ha ha, Ill rally the hell out of the peasants, you just watch me, I could put any general in the Legions to shame She spoke in an almost bubbly voice, seeming to forget the fact she had almost been blown up (And her essence construct men had been) a few seconds ago.
She darted around to the nearby civilians, mostly the ones who had come to stop and gawk, but one or two who were just going out their business were grabbed to, buoyed along by someone they found both as relentless as the pounding surf and almost impossible to argue with (Though some of the mystically inclined heroes watching the whole affair might have been able to sense there was some form of magic at play helping the bystanders follow Mirels orders).
In no time at all the easy to reach injured had been sorted and categorised with the strong civilians making their way to try and help people out of the tram (Or at least would be as soon as it hit the ground). Some of the lesser injuries were even being treated already, Mirel herself stood on top of a car directing the ebb and flow of people, seeming the happiest since shed got here.
You see surgeon, I am simply the best at this there is She said with a giggle of delight. -
Kings Row, Wrecked Monorail Line
Quote:That could have gone better, was the thought that went through Mirels head as she tumbled through the air due to an explosion for the second time in about ten minutes. Once again she performed the near impossible feat of turning the sudden explosive tumbling she found herself in into a perfectly choreographed landing. The explosive warhead collided with the man's jaw, causing it to detonate in a massive explosion that inevitably took out the monorail, bringing the approaching cab spiralling earthwards. There could be no doubt in anyone's mind as to the fate of the so-called soldier of the Most High.
As she landed she looked up to observe the situation above, revealing to the world her otherwise quite attractive face had been marred by a few lacerations due to shrapnel, not that she had noticed yet.
Well that was surprisingly easy! He must have been very new to his power, by the Daanad this place has a problem with things attacking it doesnt it? She said aloud to no one in particular. -
Kings Row, Gunman Battl/Monorail Track
Quote:Mirel was not an easy person to escape from, as her foul enemy had been distracted by other peoples attacks she had reached the street light, her rain drop warriors trailing behind. Once she arrived Mirel proceeded to promptly laugh in the face of physics and run straight up the street light, seemingly even faster then she ran horizontally.Having learnt not to underestimate the peoples of this world, the fleeing soldier pre-calculated the existing possibility that the missile may still hit so without pause, he broke out into a sprint across the structural monorail, while it still stands.
Very quickly she had reached the top, and with a steel denting kick, had launched herself through the air towards the monorail line, landing with a thump and roll directly in front of her quarry. She was also joined just a few seconds later by her rain drop warriors, who fell into place surrounding the figure, cutting off his retreat.
Give my regards to the Demon City, Anathema She said with a self confident smirk as the magical constructs closed in on the gun man, with Mirel herself but seconds behind, unleashing a torrent of blisteringly fast strikes with her bladed hands. -
Kings Row, Gunman Battle
Quote:The hail of gunfire showed that her target had somehow managed to dodge the effects of her Elemental Bolt, and that could only mean that foul demonic powers were flowing through him, almost certainly a Forsaken. The shooter remained knelt behind his shield. This battle was now well under way and the so-called soldier of the Most High was not about to let up.
This would require a change in tactics, and something fare more showy, oh yes, Mirel thought as she flung her arms out horizontally, causing a sudden cascade of horizontal rain to fly out around her, though it all quickly shot back towards her, coalescing into what looked like a large squad of soldiers, each one made out of whirling raindrops, who after standing impressively behind Mirel for a second began to advance implacably through the hail of gunfire towards its source.
And with this distraction Mirel began sprinting at a speed that would put a fair few athletes to shame towards the street-light closest to the cover the gunman was in.
((Ha ha, I get to bust out the showy charms at last)) -
Kings Row, Gunman Battle
Quote:Well she hadnt been the one to call his bluff, so much for settling this the smart way, was that giant machine being piloted by a Fire Aspect or something? He leapt backwards and sought cover behind a car wreckage, wielding his near-impenetrable shield defensively. He noticed a surprise bullet had just whizzed past him, revealing the possibility of other hidden foes. His odds had now been thrown out of balance. Given the right moment, he would now have to find a non-innocent civilian and secure himself an exit strategy. A human hostage.
Mirel shook aside the rest of those thoughts, performing a simple striking hand gesture of her own, causing a surprisingly sharp and painful bolt of sea water to lance from her palm straight towards the cover taking dark figure.
It was a good shot too, maybe not perfect, but good, enough to scythe through clothing and even dent armour. Though that wasnt the real threat of the attack, the threat being that if the shot hit, the mystically charged and created water would seep through into the targets lungs, nowhere near enough to drown them but usually enough to cause them to have to spend a little bit coughing it up before they could breath again. Though all that was dependant on hitting the target, even his shield, which while likely wasnt guaranteed.
The air around Mirel once more seemed it could not decide if it was air or water anymore, the seemingly mystical lightning occasionally manifesting once more, anyone standing too close to her might get a little wet. -
Kings Row, Gunman Stand-Off
Quote:Mirel grinned, it was at the same time smug, warm, proud and yet also from certain angles quite chilling, like a cat that has found a mouse to toy with."Machine" came the guttural growl of the gunman. Due to his darker skin and the absence of daylight, his face was not clear to see. "Woman... Unseen One... and a Windrider. On what authority do you dare to challenge a soldier of the Most High, ruler of all existence? Be you foolish or just in want of death?"
On what authority? She said with a voice the dripped with contempt, I am a scion of the Great House Cathak, Member of the Scarlet Dynasty and descendant of the Scarlet Empress herself
She paused moving into a stance that seemed to challenge an attack from the gunman.
The blood of Daanad herself flows in my veins, I stand astride the pinnacle of the Road of Enlightenment as Prince of the Earth, but one step down from the Dragons themselves
There was a second pause as the blades hidden in her gauntlets flicked out into the open once more.
Be you Anathema or blind fool following a God who has stepped beyond his station, you are by my decree to cease your actions and surrender or be destroyed as an example to all who might follow you
Looking very smug with herself and ready for just about anything Mirel watched and waited for a responce -
Kings Row, Hero Gathering/Gunman Stand-off
Quote:Mirel had been getting more then a little annoyed with the group that had apparently deigned not to speak with her, and mentally added a few faces to her list before she respectfully bowed again and set off after the car that had until recently been an automaton of some kind. The autobot trooper accelerated, transforming and jumping in one fluid motion as he vaulted the line of Police cars, both devastated and still-functional, landing in a crouch with his gun, now back in carbine form, aimed at the figure.
"Yeah, second that. Drop 'em or lose 'em, pal."
The carnage she saw as she arrived was quite shocking, and started to ring certain alarm bells that she really did not want ringing, not here, not while she was the only Dynast in the city, where were the Immaculate Monks when you needed them?
I would do as they say and surrender Mirel spoke harshly as she added her weight to the demands of Quicksilver and lldela, Else you will have to face the wrath of a Prince of the Earth on top of everything else -
Kings Row, Hero Gathering
Mirel strode forwards towards the amassing group of heroes, her pleased expression briefly flashing to something along the lines of annoyance before she settled it back as a nice friendly smile, she would have to teach these obviously uncivilised people how to properly respect those of her station but in all due time.
Greetings to you all She said with surprising warmth, friendliness and even a little bow, It is nice to meet you all, though I will admit, I was expecting more immediate recognition from people after all that, certainly for the one who landed the killing blow at least. -
Kings Row, Just in front of Crab Battle Wreckage
Quote:While the magical net directed most of the giant enemy crabs blast down into the street below, the net did fling upwards a bit a it contained the blast. This caused Mirel, in her rather precarious position atop it all, to be flung up into the air with more then a little surprise.((All that was left was a smoldering crater and the burnt out wreckage of what remained of the Crab.
She quickly corrected herself mid-air however, her random tumbling becoming much more focused and clean until, at last, she touched down on the road a good few dozen feet from the crab. She flourished her landing a bit, making it look as though the whole thing had been the end of some simple gymnastics routine.
The atmosphere around her was a little odd, it flickered, seemed hazy at times, as if it couldnt decide if it were air or water and the occasional deep ocean blue crackle of what looked like magical lightning certainly didnt help make it look any less odd, but the effect seemed to by dying down quickly as she brought her head up to straighten up and smirk at what she hoped would either be the other people who had battled the thing (Or massive crowd of adoring peasants) who would no doubt be converging on her any second.
That was fun, now who the in the name of Mother of All Things is in charge here? -
Which I find ten kinds of amusing given what the note on Found Spiders instruction sent, perhaps time his arrival for after the crab is defeated, all the characters should be ina nice big crowd talking then.

Kings Row, Crab Battle
Quote:With a rather momentous crash, the ceiling became the sky, and Mirel found herself no longer dangling from the underside of a metal monstrosity but instead performing a rather precarious handstand atop its upturned form. The shot from Quicksilvers gun was powerful enough to actually force the crab to tip backwards, not part of the program it knew but even it could not argue with physics in this universe, it teetered for a moment on it's hind legs before collapsing onto it's back.
Now fully exposed to whatever was going to be thrown at it, legs wiggling in the air as it lay there.
Well, if they want me to show off Mirel started but didnt finish her sentence as she quickly pushed off her handstand and into a cartwheel, finally coming to a rest stood upright next to the giant weak point.
It took only a few seconds for her to judge the best angle of attack, leaping into the air and spinning seeming to momentarily slow down as she extended on leg straight down and drove a mighty kick straight down at the vulnerable spot.
With her attack committed, the foot Mirel was leading with began the crackle a little with what seemed like a deep blue coloured lightning, drops of water flinging around and away, as if her foot was carving its way through massive sheets of rain, as she channelled Essence into the attack to make it that much more potent.
And with a very loud CRACK Essence boosted armoured boot met giant flashing weakpoint. -
We're not saying there's anything wrong with the plot, I am indeed interested in just what it all intials.
It's just that we finally manage to get all the characters together at Kings Row Crab battle... and you go to recruit them at Talos island?
Just causing a few of us to boggle is all. -
((I belive it's a plot tied into the whole thing that's going on, though the only thing that boggles me is why you'd go to Talos when all our characters are converging on Kings...))

Actually, there is a bit of an issue that comes up in these threads, time after time, that has recently really started to niggle me.
And that is the massive divide between certian PD RPers and certian GG RPers. The worst part of all this? This divide does not need to exist.
I RP in both places, run plots in both places, have characters who frequent both and both are good fun places to RP.
You want to RP a character relaxing and going for a drink after a hard days heroing/villiany? That'd be a PD time. Want to RP a new rookie hero going to meet some other heros to compare notes? (Especially if the Rookie is under 21) then go to GG.
Do both places have thier downsides and people that will annoy you? Yes, but then doesn't every other place or group of people you've ever known have people who annoy you.
This is more then offset by both places consisting largely of good RPers who are great fun to interact with and I couldn't be happier to run plots with both.
Now I know both places have people who dislike certian people who are in other places, and we here in the forums have all heard enough of these grevances I think, far too often to be honest.
So lets just stop this okay? Both places are good for RP, a different kind of RP in each place, saying to avoid one or saying bad things about it doesn't make your place look any better to RP, it just makes you look small and petty, so lets just let it be done, let people try out thier RP where they want and draw thier own conclusons rather then continuing a pointless circular nigh tribal argument.
There. I've said my peice, you can all go back to ignoring me now. -
To reinforce on Ammons point, specifically in regards to the Agincort example, it'd be reasonable to say a base like that suffers from a fair few attacks from villians.
To say your villian lead/launched an attack on the base is brilliant! As is to say you damaged it, heck I'm pretty sure the base as is has one or two points of damage built into the ingame model.
Where we draw the line is saying we blew it up in it's entirity, that's the little silly bit we were trying to point out to avoid.
And of course, re: The Floating Timeline, it's tricky to do, because we just don't know where it is or what's happened, do we treat everything that's happened in previous issues as having happened?
While that might be understadnable with the Second Rikti War stuff (Which at the end we're told Hro'Dohtz still has enough forces to cause trouble from time to time) as we're not under constant Rikti assault anymore, but then you have the Preat stuff, which tells us the Phalanx has fallen and Steel and Kings are in ruin... yet the Phalanax are still sat there giving out thier TFs, Kings and Steel are spotless, so it's just all confusing about where we stand in it all. -
Only trouble is, with that kinda plot there is that if anyone has any form of interaction with States at that point or refers to him at all, you're pretty much godmoding "Oh no actually you talked to a stand in".
Wouldn't a much more reasonable solution to acknolwedge that the plotline you're doing happened a while back? I mean everyone acknowledges that States was kidnapped by the Preatoreans in the past, thus nothing is changed, just for your personal private stories you were the ones who helped free him.
Which if it came up in RP would be best described as "Oh yea we did some work with States against the Preats" to avoid stepping on anyones toes.
And I would have continued this debate with CB earlier, however I was far too angry after last night on the channel, my net cut out and I had to sleep. -
All these people shooting the crap, I hope you don't hit Mirel damn it D:
-
Hmmm if you're active in preatoria, maybe we can see about getting you involved in the little Preatorian Plot Action we've got going on around now.
-
Which belive it or not was my bloody point!
Just because in a TF or late game arc we can beat up or arrest somthng doesn't mean it sticks in cannon for the game does it? That was the entire point I was trying to argue.
Just because somthing happens in game it doesn't necesserly make it cannon, I wish it did, I really wish it did, it would make things so much easier for me, but there we go, this is the issue. -
Or plots which happen yet don't.
I could reel off a big list, I really could.
