  1. Talenar crouched atop the roof of one of the many almost abandoned houses in the troubled little town, hands busy behind her head as she retied her rebellious hair into it’s usual ponytail after it had come loose during her climb to the rooftop.

As the now tamed hair once more rested along her back, rubbing against the pair of khatars that were strapped there, Talenar stretched up almost silently it was time to get to work. Running along the rooftops towards the University making almost no sound, aside from the slight padded jingling of her weapons and armour bouncing against each other.

The sudden appearance of an eerie greenish glow caused the stealthy red skinned girl to swerve around behind a nearby chimney stack, pressing herself tightly against it as a flock of ghosts made their way on some half forgotten route. Talenar chastised herself internally for forgetting about the ghost problem Salamanca suffered from at night, it would have been safer to run through the streets after all! She paused after she realised she was bashing the back of her head against the brickwork, the pair of horns that curved from her forehead all the way to the back of her head before curving once again forward to her cheeks having been making a clicking sound against the brickwork.

“Screw this” She thought aloud, and proceeded to leap atop the chimney stack, tail held out behind to help balance her landing, and from here to the next slightly lower roof and again and again until her boots touched the tarmac sprinting forwards towards the university and with a quick leap and roll arrived at the feet of the mayor, a grin on her face as her solid white eyes met his.

“So, I heard you needed to find someone?”
  2. Inquisitor both sounds cooler and fits the theme very well, so I second that motion
  3. You could have a character -like- Castenella gather you all for a mission.

You know some powerful mysterious old guy who for whatever reason your character is going to listen to.

Opens up a whole bunch of new plot options to if you throw his motives as questionable.

Plus it gies you total freedom instead of possible canon clashes.
  4. And somthign similar recently came up at GG, with excessive force, a shame you're not around to help with it D:
  5. So you can use Rubber Bullets on anyone who's human! Problem solved
  6. Tech, I think AP means that if you're a villian who kills teh world will consider that you're doing an abhorrent act and would treat you with far less sympathy then a campy bank robber.

So while the brutal ditatorship might not mind you killing his enemies, the general public around the world will go, "Oh my god, you monster" which I think was APs point
  7. Once again Z says what I was trying to only far better!
  8. There's also the issue that's been ignored here as to non-human things heros wind up fighting.

You know, Clockwork, Devouring Earth non-devoured, Hydra and (technically) Rikti.

Still, I'm of the opinion that Heroes generally arn't allowed to kill, unless it's absolutly necessary in order to save more lives/the world, and even then don't expect to just get away with it, you know an investigation into it or somthing?

Or have we all forgoten teh trial of Dr mechano already :P
  9. I don't think it means by evil twin what you think it means though :P
  10. Not to mention having the ability to choose other options (And in many cases over come the urge to use said options) is a very good thing to have and be capable of doing.

Were humans incapable of killing or violence or hate or performing ctions that could be viewed as 'extreme'. What would become of us? A santisied worlds where there are few choices, because our overlord Facade has decided that most of the options need to be removed to make us 'better'. A world where peopel don't think, because there is no need to think or Debate when there's only one choice they can take anyway.

Ultimatly the human race becomes little more then unthinking cattle, is that the world Facade wants?

Also synthozoic, you said you don't belive in free will? Could you elaborate on this point, as it confuses me and seems an odd and harsh position to take.

Edit: It migth be best that I'm talking free will here as in the regular 'We all have freedom to make our own choices and minds up and decisions and so on' and not any Philosphical school of thought that you might have brought up, as I know next to nothing about Philosophy in general.
  11. So, the question is, is it worth messing with what fundamentally makes someone who they are worth it when odds are it'll have no effect anyway?

In my book, no, not at all.

Best to remember that the road to hell is pathed with good intentions, and no matter how good an action may feel or seem on paper it migh not be the right thing to do.
  12. While both are dispicable 'Re-programming' the entire populace of the word is far worse then slavery, hell even human sacrifice.

You're taking away somthing that's fundamental to human nature, and I don't think that should ever be considered right.

But then again I think killing is a terrible thing that should never be done, even to those who have killed others.
  13. If I recall right there's a fair few of those, I think one of them is called 'Planet X' or some such.

Anyway back ontopic, is a perfect world worth sacrificing humanity for? After all that is what was suggested, our uniqness and individualty make us what we are after all, not to mention that power corrupts, so would total power over all of humanity in the hands of one man eally a good thing? One man who has only his own views, no one to check them, no one to soundboard of, no one to say 'Hang on mate don't you think that's a bit silly'.

So in the end I don't think it's worth it or a good idea, far too much room for abuse, and of course he doesn't by default know what's best for everyone, no one person can, a good question would be how -he- would like to live in a world he describes only with someone else at the helm.
  14. You guys have a pit of death? Awsome!

*Knocks Rebel in as he rushes to look*
  15. For some reason I see Annete as having lost it, but No having kept it, I don't know why! It's just one of those things I always did >.>
  16. Don't encourage Pointy D: He's hard enough to understand as it is :<
  17. Aye, I kinda want to play the specific universe characters I made, I'm a little attached to them and thier universe, which is why I think I'm not really a fan of all this bluring the line things, but again it's just me, don't mind me!
  18. Pious summed it up pretty well, I might go back and edit that, it made sense in my head honest! :< Typo's didn't help :<
  19. It's just our characters don't just exis in a vacuum, espeiclaly logner running ones are intertwined with other characters, which we can't jsut take for granted like this as they're not our characters to decide.

So, just don't thinkt eh approach to "My char has had x y and z happen to him" with them all being in conflicting universes just doesn't make sense or sit right with me.
  20. But that's just... we shouldn't have to come up with excuses like that, it's just silly :<
  21. It's just that if somthing ever happened back on the old boards (almost) everyone would know abou that event (if it were a big thing!) and it'd be talked about wgile in game, the reprocussions felt, the development developed and so on. It was all just so nice and consistant.

But if we just go with the "It doesn't matter, just stick where you want" important universe setting details like big major threats (Like Dr Mechano, who almost he entire community have been involved.been on the reciving end of one of his plots) or big important organisations, all of which can be important to characters are just suddenly not there/you interact with people for who suddenly these thigns no longer exist for.

It's like people in a certian place whining that there's no X when people who are active in/take part in teh community know there's been a longstanding X.

Well in short I don't really want to RP characters I've spent a long time with in and intergrating into the Unionverse to suddenly be thrown into a "Other" or "Forumverse" and even if I did if some peopel like CB there treat it as an alternate universe, yyet I take FFMs or Devious advice and act like it was real, and said character who say met one of Cbs characters in the thread then goes "Oh hey I know you" only CB was working on the assumption that it was an alernate universe version and... yea it gets complicated.

So yea, just some issues that if I wasn't already dissilusioned with forum RP would make me so.
  22. “Amy, for the last time, we are not giving a lobotomised psychic whale to Dr. Edward Mechano, is that quite clearly young lady?”

Sue’s hair flopped back to normal as she was left mostly dry, not looking overly impressed with the catgirl towering over her.
  23. Sue crossed her arms over her chests, hair wafting in a self made breeze that no one else could feel unless they were uncomfortably close, working on getting herself dry.

“No Amy” Sue stated in a voice now completely devoid of her previous rage, “I don’t think getting your father involved is a good idea at all, and as for magic? Sure you might be able to heal his body, but his mind? That’s something else entirely”
