If I can't change out the geometry for Spines then forget about it.

Just say no to banana melee!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apart from Spines being able to use the geometry from Thorns, and Thorns being able to use the geometry from Spines (both of which can be colored), there will be at least one other set of alternate geometry/FX.

As for Martial Arts, the alternate animations we have right now are mainly punches. The idea was to provide you guys with a way to make the classic, fights with their fists and feet, super-hero that many have been asking for. That includes a new animation for assassin's strike (Assassin's Blow?).

    [/ QUOTE ]
The death of Banana Spines and Streetfighting via the Martial Arts set?

Yes, I think that's a ton of win in and of itself.
  2. I can follow you but I'm going to be there anyhow

    <after re-read> win big-time, eh? Hmm... <enables device updates>
  3. Oh thank goodness. Bloody annoying thing, will be glad to see it gone!
  4. For that matter, I don't believe anything was in the recent I16 announcement in regards to customizing travel powers... what about the yellow flare of Super Speed?

    Triumph race

Perhaps something more challenging, like the trainer in Faultline or the northern islands of Talos, or the DA gate. Just a few suggestions for thought.

    Triumph race

2nd team with a trustworthy leader?

Otherwise, when I've read about other servers doing this in the past, they run them with brand new toons from AP or Galaxy to somewhere far. You could do this then keep track of the winner's global and give the prize money to whatever toon they want.
  7. Obsidius

    Triumph race

Would that disable IO bonuses too, like +Travel Speed?

Edit: Actually, I think selecting the "No Enhancements" option from an Ouro mission would solve that problem, IIRC.

    Incarnates

Anything about the structure and mechanics of Incarnates is pure speculation at this point.

I just wonder what sort of SOs they'd use
  9. Heh, I'd stop wasting your breath Munki. Same tired debate is still the same and tired.

Before I leave the thread though, I'll only say two words...

Ah, so you are our self-proclaimed Arbiter of Constructive Feedback, with all "non-constructive" feedback-ees being tossed to the Arachnoids down in the Gutter. The rest of us are "laymen" who need your august sorting-skills to determine between the two kinds.

    Okey-doke. *eyeroll*

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you want to infer that I insulted you, or that I'm the self-proclaimed forum king, then absolutely, as you will.

But I'd rather get the thread back on track.

    ************

Anyhow, my arguments about the size/ gender changing mechanism aside, I think I'll be enjoying the new costume bits. The Skull Mask has a number of different uses. I'm not sure what I'll use the lab coats for, but perky nonetheless.

The new costume change emotes, especially perhaps the formula (which could be used for Magic-types as well) has me thinking of interesting concepts. Hmmm... should I redeem some of those vet character slots or not?

To play Devil's Advocate, as a person who's worked with customers in the past, sometimes loosing problem customers is a good thing, because it frees one up to pursue other things that benefit the majority of (hopefully) loyal customers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Perhaps another game and its associated forums would serve you better, since negative feedback seems to be a problem for you. Heat/kitchens/tolerance, etc.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm unsure what you mean. Me? A problem with these forums? Heck, I'm the instigator half the time

I don't have problems with negative feedback, just non-constructive feedback. The problem is most layman cannot tell the difference, or don't care.

Besides, that other game is way too laggy on my system.

If you're not praising the game, your opinion doesn't count. Or so I've come to realize.

[/ QUOTE ]That is the official motto of the board. I wonder if the devs get pissed at people who tell others to play a different game when they try to criticize CoX. I know I would.

To play Devil's Advocate, as a person who's worked with customers in the past, sometimes loosing problem customers is a good thing, because it frees one up to pursue other things that benefit the majority of (hopefully) loyal customers. That's not to say that squeaky wheels don't get the grease, but some wheels will squeak no matter how much grease is applied, which can take time and money away from loyal customers. A former poster by the name of Cambios would be a good CoX corollary.

Also, forum posters (supposedly) represent a mere fraction of the playerbase. It's the majority of non-posting players developers need to worry about.

On the contrary - if your only contribution to the discussion is a rant, vice any sort of constructive feedback (critical or otherwise), one can't be expected to be greeted with courtesy and seriousness.

    For example:

Although I purchased the Super Booster Pack, I disagree with how gender/ size changing is a part of this. In my opinion, this feature should have been available within a standard Issue or patch update, or at the least a generic, non-Science-based booster (since this sort of thing could be RPd with various non-scientific devices). I think that it was a poor decision to use this feature as a carrot to this add-on pack, and another power or mechanism should have been used instead.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    As opposed to:

    [ QUOTE ]
The costume sucks. The animations are cool, but the gender change? THat should have been available all along.

MC Soft = Sony now I guess...no, wait...at least Sony gives you a bigger world with each paid expansion...and more levels.

RIP OFF for a a bunch of suckers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I also don't understand:

    [ QUOTE ]
as a customer I have the right to complain when I don't like something that is basically stealing from me.

    [/ QUOTE ]
How can something be stolen if it was never in one's possession to begin with? This is a new booster, correct?
  14. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Since novelty seems to be an issue, perhaps it's time to find something newer for you, and move along to verdant pastures with greener grass.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And THAT is your standard response to anyone who voices a complaint here. I don't have to move on...but I do pay to play, and as a customer I have the right to complain when I don't like something that is basically stealing from me.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think you mean my standard response as of late. In which case, I will give you the expanded response.

To use your logical argument, as a paying customer, I feel that I am getting my money's worth.

If we are to use a democratic allegory, does that mean that we are at an impasse?

I will argue, since we are using a democratic allegory, that subscribers do vote for products through their purchases and subscriptions. Hence my previous post.

However, I can also see your point. A paying customer has the right to complain - within reason. However, as another poster pointed out, your comparison of a booster pack to a full-fledge expansion is false, both in scope and correlated expected cost.

And although I feel that something as utilitarian as the ability to change a character's height or size/ gender should not have been released on an origin-specific expansion pack (perhaps a generic add-on or as a normal patch), it is not enough of an impasse for me to post with the vehemence displayed by so many other posters.

In fact, given the general state of certain event in real life, I'm often dumbfounded as to why the often vehemently-worded complaints posted on video game forums such as the City of Heroes forums exist at all. There is, IMHO, a fine line between constructive criticism and a rant; I believe that many posters have taken your post as the latter.

In closing, to return to a standard response in such cases, "Lighten up Francis."

It's pretty fun to wander over into programmer land and causally ask, "So what's up with the chat bug?"

They have said that not having reliable repro steps makes this particular bug nigh-impossible to track down, so if anyone can figure out a way of making this happen 100% of the time, I'm sure those guys would name children after you or something.

I'd even push for Posi to hand out the vaunted 'badge-which-must-not-be-named"

This booster pack is a total rip off. They are charging $10 to do something that should have been built into the tailor to begin with.

Frankly, I don't see how you guys can stand for this.

I wouldn't worry, they probably held of on the official announcement until it was actually up Posi's Twitter is where people look for teasers, not the actual announcements
