If they have Grav on redside, I'd still go with grav. That way, you can "force-throw" stuff at your enemies. Also, the Force bolts the Sith have are blue, aren't they?

My plan was to build the base using decorative rooms (on the idea that they would be cheaper than the functional ones), and decorate it to my liking. There would be no complaints because my alts are the only members (theoretically). As the group gains prestige, I would gradually swap out decorative rooms with functional ones.

However, the decorative rooms are as expensive as the functional ones, often moreso!

It's just a little disappointing. It was something I had hoped to have some fun with. Now it looks as though I can't, for at least a couple of years (since I have several alts to work up, and tend to level slowly at the best of times).

Of course, I could invite other players, but no one would want to join a SG with no base, would they?

Hmm ... ok, how about, instead of starting with purely decorative rooms, start with the functional rooms? IE: Oversight center which can hold 1 storage, 1 power/control combo unit and 1 workshop item? That's how I started my solo SG and I had the enhancement crafting table in there, a personal salvage vault and the power/control combo unit. As I grew, I added more functional rooms. (And in the functional rooms, you can place unlimited decorative items, so you can dress your base up as you see fit and still have functional items. It's a win-win. So no need to waste the prestige on decorative and functional rooms, just get the functional rooms and decorate them as you like.

As for the time it takes to work up a base, yes it'll take some time, but not as long as it used to. And about inviting others to join, I can't give advice on that. I stand by the previous suggestions of inviting yours and your friend's alts to pad the SG with 15 members. Still, good luck.

All mayo is gross. The only time I use it is when I make chicken or tuna salad. And even then, its only a tiny bit.

I pulled my pixie out of that SG a long time ago, Shining Emerald is now in Magic Wings. They're a prertty neat SG. I can talk to a leader in there if you'd like to move Darkstar over.
