Quote:I think these pictures are quite good. Keep it up and soon you'll be able to turn pro and do comics like this guy:
My personal favorite issue from a 5 year career in the comic industry. This is the one where everything just WORKED. Cover came out exactly as planned, Sean wrote an awesome self-contained story, artwork was shot straight from the pencils (which was nice b/c previous inkers often messed things up), and the coloring was rich and striking.
We were able to continue the winning formula on several more covers, but in terms of full issues, this was a one-off thing where the stars just seemed to allign. I think issues 10-12 were pretty strong as well, but we had alternating colorists that sort of broke up the flow.
This little trip down memory lane brought to you by 3 hours of sleep! Thanks for indulging me. -
Quote:My 10-month old is sick this week, but I'm still here.Where's David with more artwork?
David, are you working on anything at the moment? A sweet comic per chance? Also wanted to spruce this one up a bit before posting:
This is another one where I had a bit more than 20-30 minutes, which is why it's more of a full figure. -

[QUOTE=Scootertwo;2393345]Just get in line when the rest of us do the thorazine shuffle to the counter. [QUOTE]
Ok, but what's the policy on pants-wearing when one does the thorazine shuffle? I've heard that's a concern around here. -
Where do I sign up?
And thanks to Ghost for today's pics! These two were done at the COH Omega Sektor Minicon back in '08, which was a benefit for the Draw The World Together charity (hence the preprinted art board).

They're stacked top to bottom on my screen, but how's it working for you now?

A couple more: the drawing on the top comes to us from the first (and last) annual Wizard World Boston; the one on the bottom is from last month's Hero Con.
-
How about a villain-centric post this time?
Had a little extra time to do the one on the top, which is why you see more of the figure. And the one on the bottom is an unusual case as well. I drew it for someone at the Draw the World Together/ Omega Sektor minicon over in England a couple years back. But it was done way after the fact, and we've since been unable to contact the owner. I've got the original, so if you're the guy, please let me know!

Exactly. We raffle these off at every show, and people will frequently send me scans when they get home. But I've only got a tiny fraction of the total in hand, and I'd love to collect a lot more of them here.

So to get things rolling, here're two Desdemona sketches from this year's San Diego Comicon:
-
Hey, guys. So I was posting some of the comic-style marker sketches I did at this year's Hero Con, when a cool and unexpected thing happened: people started sending in sketches from other shows as well--lots of them. For years now, I've been drawing these for COH fans at San Diego Comicon, NYCC, Hero Con, and other conventions but they've never been posted on the forums as a group before...until now.
If you guys are interested, let's use this thread to collect as many of these as possible, make a little gallery of it, and finally let the forum community as a whole get a look at them.
I'll start posting the ones I've got in hand, and hopefully you guys'll continue sending in new ones. For the sake of consistency, please email scans of your art to dnakayam@hotmail.com. That way, I can crop, resize, and color correct all the pieces so they look good together.
Thanks in advance, and hope you enjoy the art. -

While cleaning out files, I found the notes I'd started a while back on creating a City of Heroes/City of Villains tarot deck...
Anyone else think we should get David Nakayama to do the art for the cards?
