  1. Hmmm I hope they will let us know about pool and epic changes and give a respec beforehand or something, wouldn't like to discover after a patch that my Focused Accuracy is gone because it changed Ancillary Pool and my Gaussian set has disappeared...

The change for Temperature Protection looks really good now with the recharge debuff protection (I understand that's what he meant) no more delays on Healing Flames

    DB/Wp Build

As per Enkil's figures, it's better nowadays use the third slot for a cheap set enhancement that helps anhance another aspect, such as damage/recharge or damage/endurance...
  3. I am definitely interested on this SF if you re-schedule with my lvl 27 DB/Elec Brute.

    DB/Wp Build

The Focus Accuracy/Non Accuracy enhancements in attacks build has been proved successful before so i think you should be ok on the Accuracy department. Other than that, what Sapphic said, perhaps leaving Super Speed with just base slot and put a few endrdx enhancements in attacks would work good for your build, there are also a few cheap sets you could use in addition, such as Dampening Spirits for Rise to the Challenge to add a bit endrdx to some toggles.

I wouldn't bother adding defence enhancements in Indomitable Will though and, if you can get your hands in some Cytoskeleton Exposure HO enhancements you can save some slots in Focused Accuracy

Also Strength of Will could go with just a dmgres enhncement in base slot methinks, but not 100% sure on that one, I always have it with just 1 dmgres on base on my scrappers but then, I always have Fighting Pool.
  5. My favourites have to be first DM/DA, an all round swiss knife scrapper and DM/SR specially since Elude is not needed, it feels damn good tanking GW on STF or being untouched by the Hydra on sewer Trial or clearing single handedly the Honoree room while the rest of the team are going hospital...

Now I'm quite excited on my Fire/DA currently at lvl 42 mainly because of his crazy damage output and I am expecting fun from my MA/Fire once I manage to get an attack chain in a few lvls.
  6. That was one of the best if not the best LGTF I've been in. Thx for arranging mate

    Vista Question

Surprised that any Radeon owners get that error as its a dll that is part of the Nvidia driver that hangs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tbh now that you mention it I've only seen about the Radeon "complaints" from NVidia users who claim there are "also" Radeon complaints.
  8. Gah, should check forums on weekends, I need STF on my rad/sonic defender
  9. If you got sk room I'm in with Gene Djinnie, lvl 40 Fire/DA Scrapper

I replace taunt, soul tentacles and quickness with attacks. I'm just not that keen on gives up quickness.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I certainly wouldn't do that, the tentacles should be helpful to keep yoiur foes immobilized so you can jump in and cast a nice Soul Drain to start bashing them at full damage buff.
Quickness imo is basic to boost your DPS and will make you build fury faster.

You can either have a lot of attacks and skip useful powers... or cycle the ones you have as fast as possible.

I'd keep midnight grasp, it's your highest damage single target attack. Also, move the miracle +recovery from siphon life to health to have the bonus perma.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm, after checking the Midnight Grasp base dmg values on Red Tomax, I think he made the right decision and he'll benefit more from the DPS in Shadow Punch/Smite tbh.

    Vista Question

If your new rig is due for the end of the year, hopefully a fix will be out, I like Vista don't get me wrong, I just seem to have been on the unlucky side with this problem because I had that crash 4 - 5 times a day and had to reboot every single time otherwie I couldn't log back on CoX

    Vista Question

I've removed Vista and went back to XP. There's a known issue with Vista+NVidia combination that displays a message "the nvdldwhatever driver stopped responding and recovered" that annoyed me to the point I decided to go back to XP. That problem is supposed to happen with ANY gfx card, but my search-fu showed it happens mainly with NVidia users (mainly meaning that I've only seen a couple complaints with ATI). Tried all the workarounds suggested in NVidia and Anandtech forums (made an electrician sort another wall plug to plug the pottie direct to wall, changed my RAM, amended the RAM voltage, even overclocked it a bit...) but none of them worked for me, although on same forums, quite a few people claimed they worked for them.

It is a random crash caused by the video response time which on Vista is set for 2 seconds while it seems than NVidia drivers have a different one (better ask FFM on this one for a proper explanation).

Anyway, Vista looks great, it's damn stable and easy to use, I'd go Vista and a non-NVidia GFX but I'd keep the old XP installation disk at hand, then, before you install any data on your new pottie (music and stuff), I'd just install CoX and try it for a few days, if you get no crashes then install everything else, if unfortunately you have problems and the workarounds on the internet tech forums don't work, you can always go back to XP.-
  14. [ QUOTE ]
You also overlooked the Endurance recovery aspect of the power

    [/ QUOTE ]

No I didn't, you did I'm afraid. Let's see, you're at the defence soft cap to practical effects (you're sooo gonna love it trust me ), your recovery is 2.6 per sec and your toggles consume (with CJ and sprint on) 0.75 end/sec (0.39 end/sec without sprint on) plus your attacks have some form of endrdx plus Dark Consumption... you have too much recovery as it is trust me, I managed 9 toggels (all DA except Death Shroud, Tough, Weave and CJ) on my DM/DA (1.35 end/sec consumption) with just 2.97 end/sec recovery (a bit tight yes, and when I respecced in death shroud had to add a Miracle) but pooint is, you don't need more recovery, you got plenty.

I like Soul Tentacles and Dark Obliteration, they give you AoE damage on a mainly ST primary, combined with Soul Drain and Dark Consumption when available you should deal decent AoE dmg (and must be real good on full fury). The almost 40% recharge bonus is also very good. I like the build but...

What I'd correct on this build is:

Lack of accuracy (don't expect to see your 5% BU chance up often), specially I'd re-address the low accuracy in Soul Drain which is quite basic power, had it slotted like yours on a scrapper and used to hit a max of 3 foes while in the middle of a group, better than nothing, but with room for improvement so had to re-arrange. Try adding a Kismet +6% ToHit in CJ. As it is now, basically you're basing your attacks accuracy on an attack that has to hit to be effective but the way such attack is slotted its accuracy is too low (106%)

I'd squeeze a slot from somewhere and slot it on Practiced Brawler, I love it stacked.

I'd work on a bit more regeneration, Siphon Life is the only self healing I have on my DM/SR scrappers, but boosted regen helps, a lot.

Anyway, I am seeing things from a theoretical point of view since my DM/SR knowledge is limited to scrappers and, although similar to an extent, a scrapper is not a brute so, if your foes are dead soon enough, anything else is just not really needed

Simply put Tough is for resistance, about 15% max which isn't worth getting on a toon thats only got defense

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Wrong!!!

Tough is just to allocate the Steadfast Protection +3% defense to all Unique enhancement on base slot and then leave Tough untoggled, you can even remove it from your power tray and go for Weave

Careful with the Touch of Death full set, it's accuracy is awful. tough - Weave and if possible Maneuvers - Tactics if your end can manage them would be great. You could maybe go for Tough for that precious +3% def and skipe Weave using Manuevers instead, so you can access Tactics and slot Tactics with a full Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control set for an additional 2.5% Def

And if you are really going for soft cap, get rid of Elude, honestly mate.-

    New PC Plan

If you don't plan to invest on your pottie other than new GFX cards and HDD's, I'd go full monty and get a 1000W PSU so you're ready for modern life and stuff when the time comes to upgrade.
  17. I could join for some action during most of the afternoon with either a lvl 11 elec/nrg blaster or a lvl 15 fire/mental blaster, can't do the 24 hrs though.-

    US server exodus

Having a couple rad trollers, a rad defender and a dark defender I know perfectly what is getting your anchors killed. At first I thought that the problem was that anchors "are shineh", but dark anchor isn't and still gets killed soon enough, so I decided to take advantage of it as follows on 5 easy steps:

    1.- Anchor your target
2.- Hit your anchor with everything you've got.-
3.- When anchor is about to die display a bind "$target is my anchor" or something like that.-
    4.- Kill your anchor.-
5.- Another bind along the lines of "Hehe, I killed my own anchor before any of you could do anything bwahahahaha"

As an intermediate solution, try a bind along the lines of "$target... anchor... ah nevermind" for those times you can't kill your own anchor before your team mates do.-

Regarding the relation between killing anchors and US servers exodus, same as FFM, I must also have missed the link in between both events I guess
  19. In my case, once I reach the defense soft cap I respec Elude out and I recommend to do same thing. For endurance management there is always Dark Consumption.
  20. You will reach defense soft cap when your defense value is 45%.

The explanation (roughly) is that any foe in game up to +5 lvls over you has a 50% chance to hit you, as the game always keeps a 5% chance to hit anyone at any level, hence the maximum effective defense (not accounting for tohit buffs, defense debuffs and all that) is 45%.

Some sets have a +defense bonus by equipping a certain number of enhancements belonging to that set (Scirocco's Dervish, Mako's Bite, Steadfast Protection Unique IO, Touch of Death, Red Fortune, Serendipity, Gaussian's Synchronized Fire...) by adding these bonuses to your SR defenses you can reach 45% defense on melee, ranged and AoE... plus you have the -tohit from Dark Melee as a bonus to minimize the impact of ToHitBuffs on foes etc.

If you are not going to use set IO's, 2xendrdx and 3xdef on toggles is probably the best slotting you can use for regular IO's, but that won't take you to defense cap.

Usually SR defenses (accounting toggles and passives slotted with 3xdef) are around 30%, if you add on top of that Combat Jumping (2%) and Weave (5%) that should leave you in 37% defense, still 8% off soft cap, you can fill that 8% with set bonuses and/or choosing other powers from pools, such as Maneuvers (another 4% to add to your 37%) but in that case, the endurance management will be tight without set bonuses.

  22. 5 min to change that? Oh I see, Rockjaw twisted your arm earlier on

Cya Rockjaw, never got to meet you personally so consider yourself lucky. I truly hope the best for you Sir.
  23. I'll be definitely up for 2nd respec on my ice/sonic controller.
  24. I'll be there of course, on Numina lvl I have a blaster, a scrapper, a fire/empath troller and an ice/sonic troller, take your pick mate, unfortunately no tanks in range.-
