  1. So I have a Kinetic Melee/Energy aura scrapper that I am loving, he's a decent toon with mid-level IO's and whatnot, and I've found myself getting all my incarnate stuff. However, Destiny has perplexed me, I don't know what exactly to get because I simply don't know which one fits the powersets best. I have t1 Rebirth at the moment, but is Rebirth the best option? Barrier could raise my resists and whatnot, and Ageless could pile more recharge onto my already above-average recharge, including having a t3 spiritual.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me?
  2. I bet this question has been asked....billions of times already, but I've been meaning to try out a dark/dark troller or dom. As a player who usually plays melee types, I've been interested in trying out some of the more range and control ATs, but when it comes to dark/dark, it's a hard choice. I already have a dark/dark corrupter and I've come to enjoy him on his trip to 50, and the new dark sets look awesome. But it really comes down to which one is more useful? Dark assault or darkness affinity? Is one better at solo'ing than the other? Which one is more effective on a team? I've been juggling these two options for a bit and I figure I might just ask to forum which one is preferred. So, which dark/dark do you guys like?
  3. I figured as much, and you're absolutely right, I'll probably think of a different primary as things go on, my real difference is with the secondary and AT.

Corrupter Kin's get some nice debuffs and damage boosts, while Blaster's EM has some great raw damage potential, that was my real question, which one was better in a PvP 1v1 scenario?
  4. I know PvP isn't a huge focus, and I'm pretty sure there are better powers than the ones I'm thinking of, but for thematic's sake, these are the ones I'm down to.

    what's better in 1v1? energy/EM blaster or energy/Kin corrupter?
  5. The title says it all, with the new way assassin's strike is used, the placate power seems to have lost it's charm. Sure, assassin's stike will still do a crap-ton of damage, but having to throw placate, wait to hide, then AS again seems to not have the same amount of DPS as just continuing to lay on the damage anymore.

Is Placate really worth the slot anymore, or should stalkers start respecing out that power?
  6. okay, I understand how the power siphon on kinetic melee works, but I don't understand how it works in Mids. When the power is activated, nothing seems to happen, unlike build up, where it gets 20% tohit without enhancements.

What am I missing here? What's the original number tohit buff on power siphon before you start hitting?

Given that you want an all-round generalist, I'd point you at an 'opposites attract' build: Namely, a strongly defensive secondary combined with a strongly offensive primary, with balanced offense/defense epics and incarnates.

Specifically, I'd point you at a fm/wp/soul brute. It doesn't do the most damage. But it does a lot of damage. It isn't the toughest. But it is very very tough.

More importantly, it can do just about anything you want to, at a good clip. It has many internal synergies between the powers that serve to increase the power of the build steadily all the way through the leveling curve, while never being 'weak' at any point.

    You will like it.
That's exactly what I was looking for, something simply versatile enough to adapt to any situation. I don't need to be the best in my group, just good enough so I'm helping out my team.

Thanks, I think I'll give that a shot!
  8. Okay, so my first experience with a brute was bad, I was a KM/EA brute before the new EA buff and well, looking at the sets with some new experience and research under my belt, those were very poor choices at the time and still sort of poor choices now even at level 50.

Right now I'm looking for a better brute, something that actually feels brutish and powerful to fight in a PvE scenario. My first thought immediately was Elec Melee/Fire Aura, the idea of a gigantic AoE spawn-killer felt like a lot of fun to me.

But I've been wrong before, in fact I've made a lot of poor choices in powerset choices when making a new toon, and a brute is not something I like starting over with. My questions are simple if an ELM/FA brute would be an effective toon in most PvE content or should I be looking at other powersets?

My goal for this new brute is trying to be a decently powerful, all-around brute for spawns, possibly AVs, can tank when he needs to, and possibly some PvP encounters with friends(Though this certainly isn't the focus). What powersets should I be looking at for this sort of thing?
  9. Alright, I'll start working on my scrapper now, thanks for the input!
  10. So I've had a KM/EA Brute for quite some time, since before the revamp of EA, and since I've started to learn how this game works I've found that this setup on a Brute is kind of lackluster, I like the setups but they don't seem very brutish to me.

The Forum consensus is that KM is better on a scrapper than it is a brute for a number of reasons, so how much would EA change if I re-rolled the powersets as a KM/EA scrapper? Would EA be better on a Scrapper or would staying a brute be more beneficial?
