  1. Someone PL my Martial Arts/Ninjutsu Stalker so I can slot it up and Eagle's Claw people in the face plz, kthxbye.
  2. It honestly doesn't take that long to get to 50 anymore.
1-20 can be done in probably 5-6 hours, maybe a little less...it starts to curve off in the mid-30s, but if you join some Imperious Task Forces or have steady grouping (Freedom, Virtue) it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I'd say...hmm....if you do Arcs, a few TFs and team heavily maybe 30-40 hours to 50, probably less than that, much less with a good group of people.

2.PvP (serious PvP will require a time investment for IOs and Accoaldes), Imperious TF, Lady Grey TF, various end-level TFs, lots of story arcs, hunting down Invention Origins for your character, costuming, trials, Hamidon on active servers...and Going Rogue has new stuff for level-capped people such as the Incarnate System.

    3. I'm addicted to PvP but the average person might find it meh. It's a lot of stop and go damage spam in the zones, so just bear that in mind.

4.You shouldn't AVOID any servers but you should try Freedom or Virtue for large-scale teaming, the others will be population lighter...but if you invite people to teams you'll never be alone.

For your question, try a Scrapper, Brute, Blaster for quick disposal of mobs. With the XP curve these days though, 20 is reachable fairly quickly regardless of AT, as long as you do a little teaming.
  3. My main used to work for Crey before she ran off with a potentially lethal new product, so you decide.

Ever seen xtranormal.com? It lets you make your own little videos and publish them...you do have to pay a fee to get points to publish though. :/

The possibilities are pretty endless though with the dialogue and characters you can set up.

  10. I just played my Emp/Py in PvE for the first time in months, on a speed ITF.

What with passing out Fort, AB, auras, CM and throwing attacks, I barely needed to hit my heals. The team was just steamrolling stuff anyway and the odd time someone died they were Veng bait...

Heals are nice, but buffs? Those are great.

I agree completely and from a villain standpoint no less.
Back in the day, we used to run Tarikoss five to six times per day, taking about 30-40 minutes per run. That generated an insane glut of recipes for our group, many of which found their way to the Black Market.

Now that that avenue is closed, we mostly just run LRSFs and hope for a Ribo or Micro we can sell to buy purples off the BM. ITFs are a nice option but they can get dicey with poorly slotted or non-50 toons.

Katies were great though, I remember getting a recipe, doing it a second time to get my reward window open, getting an alt, running it twice more then...sooooo many Pool Cs.

I'm not sure the forced roll is a good way of going about things, to be honest. On my previously mentioned Cold, I spent 200 Merits on a LOTG because my Rad was short one, then rolled away. I like having the choice, you know, even if one choice is incredibly less efficient.

For my own purposes, if I'm not getting 25-40 million back minimum from my roll, it gets vendored pretty quickly. Heck, so do Pool As and Pool Bs if they aren't big sellers.

I really don't see an elegant solution outside of allowing us to choose the level generated by the system, or a re-thinking of the individual costs, which are too expensive in some instances.

Would you rather spend 200 merits on a recipie or 200 million. I prefer the merits. It's not a waste if you are getting something you need... and besides that people are complaining that everyone rolls the 50 roll. I do not roll til I am 50, but I only do TFs at 50, but I roll at lower level in hopes of getting a good mid level recipie... Like Bas Gaze, Kin Combat, or the miracle recov. It cost me 200 mil to get the Numi Reg/Recov. I really regret not waiting to use my merits for it. That 200 mil could have been used to buy recipies on the market that cost less. The market is messed up because drops are messed up. If the devs would up the supply AKA drops, then the market prices will go down.

This is pretty much it for me...I have a friend that wants low to mid-level stuff on his Dominator but there is never enough stuff on the market to kit him out. So he does tons of SFs but rarely rolls. When he does roll we just keep the good stuff in our base bins and check the market for the rest.

I'm much the same...my Cold Controller had around 500 Merits the other day. I got some decent stuff like a Numina +/+ a LOTG 7.5 and a Kinetic Combat triple but there was also a pile of garbage in the pet defense bonus, Ghost Widow proc, Mako proc and so on. Checking the market, most of the latter doesn't even sell above 10 million influence. I sold the first three for a good sum though.

My Cold has around 240 Merits right now and I'm not really planning on spending them...I would be very upset if I were forced to use my Merits, Influence, Infamy, stored IOs or anything I have stored away for any reason. For example, with Miladys Knight's plan, my level 11 Corruptor with 160 Merits would be rolling NOW, and I do not want to roll until level 25!

I'd rather they lower the cost of recipe rolls, allow us to choose the generated level and just make the prices on single items less stupid. 150 merits or something for a Mako's proc? Really? Check yourselves, devs...

Not to disagree but you can do Dr. Q in about 2 hours or so, give or take a half hour to an hour if you just bring a 4 person team, have one person sit at Dr. Q and the rest do the hunts and so on.

Villainside you just need to: ITF/LGTF/Respec (44-50) Respec (34-43) and you get around 80ish Merits. All in under an hour or two with a well-oiled team (ITF in 25-30, Lady Grey <if fixed> in 20-30, Respecs in 10-15)

    So, yeah:

    Merge Markets
    Lower random roll costs
    Re-examine Merit costs for stuff.
  13. Welcome aboard new people.

So now that we have five teams, how about someone challenges someone...so we can get some rankings going?

  15. In the "never going to happen" category, I'd love to see purples, PvP IOs, Shivans, Warburg Nukes etc etc sold at an NPC vendor.

Shivans: 10-25,000,000 per temp power, one owned per player.
Warburg Nukes: 50,000,000 per Nuke, one of any type of nuke owned per player.
Purples: Trickier...Sleeps at 20-30,000,000 each. Confuses at 15,000,000 to 25,000,000 each, with the pricier ones at an appropriate cost.
    PvPIOs: 100,000,000 - 750,000,000 each.
    Respec recipes: 50,000,000 each.
    Costume recipes: 1,000,000 each.
Extra costume slot: 10,000,000, which is likely far more expensive than just getting the salvage off the Market.

Won't happen because the Devs probably don't want that many purples or PvPIOs kicking around and they likely want us to work to obtain them through gameplay instead of purchasing them from vendors.

My unrealistic post aside, I wish there were SOME inf sinks kicking around as there is a lot of unspent influence and infamy out there. Heck, I have a friend that's been afk from the game for school/life reasons and he had, at last count, 1.2 billion on an alt. He doesn't like to "buy" from the Market so he usually just uses this to craft IOs for our group or "buy" from our COalition mates.

Then you could explore other options:

How much would you pay for Portal Jockey/Born in Battle?
How much would you pay for...a level?
How much would you pay for...50 levels?
How much would you pay for the ability to unslot IOs, as proposed by Aura_Familia, it appears?
How much would you pay for a TF completion?
How much would you pay for candy canes?
How much would you pay for Winter's Gift IOs?

Since, you know...people have paid influence or items to get this stuff done anyway (there's a black market for you) but you're not likely to convince the developers this is a good idea for their game, as people would go to RMTers, get afew billion to get a 50 or some badges.

Realistically, the inf sinks we are likely to see are increased market fees, increased crafting fees, some 'chase' items or some silly items which would have a self-imposed degradation timer.

"Wow, where did you get that sombrero?"

'Oh, I paid Serge/Facemaker a million for it!'

    "Is that account wide?"

'No, I had to pay it for every one of my characters...'

    "Is it permanent?"

'No, my character has been tagged to own this piece for two weeks.'

The Developers could go the OTHER way as well, REDUCING inf earned from tasks. If less influence enters the game, wouldn't this entail that less got spent as well? Of course, existing influence would be unaffected. I don't think less would get spent. Instinctively I just feel that people would just find the quickest way to get the slower allowance and they would be rankled at having the influence earned changed in a negative fashion.

The Devs could also tax your account...or simply 'create' all those items that are being bid on but not ingame, enjoy your level 52 LOTG 7.5, sorry you lost two billion, old boy...

    Energy Aura?

Your mileage may vary, but you can make up the Taunt aura bit by using a massive aggro-generating set.

Mine is a Stone Melee/Energy Aura Brute and between Fault, the mallets and Tremor stuff is swarming me and getting dropped in short order. I definitely prefer her to my Fiery Melee/Electric Aura Brute; Energy Drain lets me get small heals and replenishes my end bar, you can pump up defenses through IO sets and the Tier 9 grants a hit bonus as well, doesn't it?

EA isn't "top of the line" at anything though, so you're more likely to see Fiery Aura or Willpower Brutes than EA...

    Me too.
You had roles for all kinds of people from your illusion Controllers to your healing blanket to targeting to damage dealers (granted, Melee never played much of a part) and then everyone piled in to spam holds and get their enhancement.

The new one might be better design but it's also considerably more tedious...especially since a well-oiled team can beat STF in 30 minutes or less at times.

I also finished it in about two hours, 1:45 the other day.
My issue is the utter repetition of the missions. You start out with four defeat alls, get a few patrols then some boss missions then the Babbage spawn (very nice) and end with the King.

Truly, they could cut a few of the defeat alls from the start and perhaps one of the boss defeat missions. There's also a Defeat 30 Clockwork which is fairly fun, but with the experience/influence/prestige awards removed from those tasks, less is more these days.

Synapse TF seems egregious to me (along with Citadel, I'm looking at you) for having seemingly cut and pasted missions along with a little dialog to go with it. With the new model being "Less time-consuming" it might not be a bad idea to revisit Synapse.

    The model I'd like:

    1.Defeat all Clockwork in office
    2.Defeat 30 Clockwork
    3.Defeat all Clockwork in substation
    4.Patrol for Clockwork activity
5.Defeat Bertha, Long Tom & guards (Integrate these two missions into a single one...)
    6.Patrol for Clockwork Lord's location
    7.Rescue workers from Clockwork
    8.Defeat Clockwork Lord
    9.Immobilizer obtained from Positron/Babbage spawn
10.Defeat Clockwork King and his minions.

You lose two defeat alls, you combine the "Boss" missions into a single one, perhaps chaining objectives so you can't fight both at once. You them do a patrol, have a more time-consuming task with the rescues, a ghostable Clockwork Lord and Clockwork King mission AND Babbage still appears to spice things up.

Having to do these Phalanx TFs for multiple characters needed TFC is quite monotonous. Synapse is one of the few (if not only) Phalanx TFs I dread doing because of the multiple defeat alls. It's not so bad on a 4-5 person team...but then that seems like curtailing the intent, that these are team activities.
  22. Also, it looks like Defender TK has been fixed on live, someone should test this; if so, you can probably removed it from the banned powers list as it doesn't repel anymore.
  23. Out of the stuff you listed I'd say the Fiery Aura/Superstrength tank might have the right mix of survivability and damage for you. Now, it's been a while and I don't think Fiery Aura has KB protection, so you'll be wanting to invest in some IOs to cover that gap.

Still, throwing Boulders, Fossilize, KB Blow (? is this still good these days ? ) and clicking Healing Flames should get you a few kills and increase your survivability.

Don't hesitate to pick up the Hyper Phase temp power and Super Leap/Superspeed are still great movement powers (some may say the only, but some Fliers have been seen in zones, often to their detriment) even with all the suppression out there.

Basic thing though is to grow a thick skin and laugh off the many defeats; eventually you'll get a hang of stuff and getting your own kills or setting them up.

    Cheers...
