I doth protest. Darn hockey playoff game for me tonight. I am going to miss TFT and the Yotes v. Wings game. Can someone please stop reality for a moment to I can transfer to a new one?

Now the rest of you can swarm over it looking for bugs and other problems and I can get back to the live servers. =)

I hope everyone had fun last night.

I know there was a TFT TT team, and 2 other teams. One that I started to lead but the tornado and ther strong storms in my area had thier way with my connection and I had to leave early.
(I did snap a nice photo of the tornado that went just north of my house.)


It was #66 on the 6th, so I guess a little evilness from mother nature was to be expected.

Lets hope for a clear night next month on May 4th.

My status has officially gone to "maybe" for a while. My 275GTX arrived today.
So in no particular order I need to in the next 6 days:
Install new power supply (Corsair 650W)
Install new video card (275 GTX)
Install new hard drive (Barracuda 500GB SATA)
Install Win7 on new hard drive and set for Vista/7 dual boot
Install additional RAM (go from 4 (4x1) to 6(2x2 2x1))
Install all my programs under the 64-bit 7.
All by next tuesday.

The kitten sacrifice was a team joke. As we were getting going, it was asked who had team port, and I said I did, but every time I use it a kitten dies. Initally we had enough so I didn't have to, but people dc'ed and well "Mittens" paid the price. =P

What press coverage? The powers that be right now would find him/her/its weakness, exploit it, frame them, capture them, then keep them powered down for study on how to make more of them.

We cannot have these raids every other Saturday. That is a total outrage. I mean, if we start having this along with the Strike Forces on Fri/Sat, people will start to play the red side. This cannot happen. Everyone thinks the red side sucks and that is has poor content, etc. If people start leveling up villians, and experience some of the funnest arcs in the game, then word will spread and more people will play red side. And with that will come a glut of IOs on the market which will savagly cut into my fat profit margins. On behalf of the Evil Marketers Anonymous, I must denounce your actions and send forth a legion of packet eating daemons upon thee.

$1984 from Dell. Thats about as tight as I could configure an Alienware with Ultra-Mode in mind for under $2k.

Oh sure, I've been holding my DP fender at 17 for this and when you go off and cancel without at least 24 hours notice. I'm gonna have to withhold your deposit for that. +P

And I'll miss next week's TFT because about the time you start I should be enjoying my third plate of nachos while watching the Yotes v. Blackhawks game in Chicago.

I guess the real question is are looking to spend $2k or just around $2k?

You can easily drop an extra $400 to get the "newest" i7 core or settle for a step or two slower and bank the $400. Same for video cards. Ignoring the "Dell Sucks" crowd, I have 4 of them in my house. 2 Core2Duos, 1 Celeron, and P4 ranging from 2 to 5 years old. All still happily churning away day in and out under varying usage loads, but still all working fine. Yeah, its a Dell, but it works. If you do go this route, I would recommend planning on getting the worst video card they offer and just upgrade the PSU and video card as soon as you get it. And this applies to most OEMs not just Dell. You are almost certain to be happier with what you can get from eVGA or where ever instead of the stock cards OEMs use. And most OEMs only use the min power supplies needed so whenever you upgrade cards, youll need to up the PSU.

(Small upgrade story; When i went to a 8600 in my Dell P4, I dropped an Enermax Liberty PSU in with it. But I had to cut a hole in the PSU mount plate for the power switch on the PSU. Oops. But it fit after that and its still running today as my backup rig.)

Just pricing out the parts + OS at NewEgg is pretty close to the Dell Price.

Please note, it just says animated tails, not new tails. No squirrel tails.

General concensus is that new tails will be part of the mutent booster pack.

All that depends on the impementation of the memory map.

If the video card boots and says I want 2Gb addressable, and the OS gives it up, you will only have 2GB left addressable by the OS.

I dont have a 2Gb (1896M) card to test with but even on 32-bit XP (with 4GB of RAM installed), i saw less and less RAM listed for my system as I stepped from a 256M (6600GT), 512(8600 GT) and a 768(8800GTX). All were running single monitor 1280x1024 32-bit graphics. There is no reason that the 8800 wouldn't actually use all 768M of memory for that configuration, but at boot time it didn't know and just grabbed all the addressable space it could. Given they were all nVidia cards, I cant imagine the behavior changing much with the new cards.
