hmm ok here's an idea:
the 2005 Holiday event enabled us to get Jet Setter badge and Scrooge/Holiday Spirit badge. the 2006 event didnt let us get these badges.....
Jet Setter was from logging in during the 2005 event, and the other one was from doing a quick mission.
Can we flashback to the 2005 holiday mission and receive Jet Setter (with or without the rocket pack, doesnt matter to me) and run the mission for the other badge?
This of course presumes that the 2007 winter event doesnt bring those 2 badges back of course
and can a toon that missed an Anniversary badge somehow flashback to a past event/mission and obtain it? likely not but who knows? -

This is cool and all but.....WHERE ARE THE VILLIAN EPIC ATs!!!!!!!!!?!!!???!!!!!?
What do I want? Villian Epic ATs!
When do I want 'em? Now!
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed it for ya.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. I want em too but am content to wait. Lotsa new stuff in ish 11 to deal with -

hm well the upcoming flashback system may be of help on this.....hard to say yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, it may only serve to highlight the problems.
If I was to exemplar and earn an accolade, it still locks in at my true level, not my exemplar level. So not only would Demonic have been insanely easy back when I was level 30, and I can prove it by dropping down to 30 and earning it at that level, but it doesn't matter. If flashback is merely the same as exemplaring as we know it, this won't help the situation at all. If flashback does offer a way to earn accolades as a low level, it will be too late for characters who already earned accolades.
Consider Task Force Commander. It's already an accolade I can earn during exemping. In fact, there's no way possible to earn it while over level 40. So if I'm playing myself as I was at level 40, then didn't I earn the accolade at level 40? Nope, it's locked in at 50. Makes no sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hm well this is from the ish 11 update page
"Heroes and Villains also use the Ouroboros System to return to story arcs that they may have missed and replay hundreds of missions from earlier in the game. Players will even get to set mission parameters for these missions to earn special badges. Heroes and Villains will be auto-exemplared to the appropriate level for each story arc to ensure the challenge level remains constant."
So yeah sounds like flashback wont help secure them at a lowlevel......unless a lowbie can also flashFORWARD and setup a chance run certain accolade-component badge mishes at low level. -
Badges....more badges.......chance to get missed badges....new badges!

This does look promising.
My only concern.. are you going to lock us out of test server again? This new ritual, started with i9 I think, has got to stop. You didn't used to lock us out of test server
[/ QUOTE ]
So we can have another issue 7? No thank you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, would rather have small amount of testers.......as long as I'm one of em -
[ QUOTE ]
Hopefully Willpower isn't a flop.
The flashback sounds promising, but will it work for people who played CoH beta and want to go back and get there Isolater?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol! Ive been asking about both Isolator and Jailbird being attainable via flashback. Posi hasnt chimed in other then to stay badges and storyarcs, so who knows?
Oh Positron? -
[ QUOTE ]
I once predicted that we would never see anything new for IOs, never get weapon customization, never see server transfers, never see anything new for Tankers and Scrappers, and never get to go back to missed mission arcs. I am very glad I was totally wrong. I take back almost everything bad I have said about the devs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Never say never.......
The one thing I want now after all this would the villain Epics, but those can wait til ish 12 now -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm assuming from what they've said that a lot of the weapons will involve getting badges to unlock.
So defeat family bosses for a tommy gun, defeat red caps for a red cap dagger.... defeat vanguard for their awesome weapons....
spidermonster.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm that is a possibility........
but as long as the topic has been approached.....what NEW badges are in Ish 11 ? -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not happy about the new IO sets because I think we have enough of them as is.
But everything else looks awesome!
[/ QUOTE ]
Speaking as someone with a radiation corr a kinetic corr and a bot/poison MM I'm glad these new sets are coming. the debuff powers need some IO lovin' ! -

[ QUOTE ]
OK how about customizing my henchmen colors if I am a Mastermind.
Its states "Current power sets that benefit from this upgrade Include Assault Rifle, Mercenaries/Assault Rifle, Bow, Broadsword, Claws, Villain Claws, Dual Blades (see below), Katana, Ninja Blade, Mace, Robotics/Pulse Rifle, and Thugs/Dual Pistols"
[/ QUOTE ]
alright i read that main page so all my questions thus far have been answered, but when it says includes, does this mean there are more?
[/ QUOTE ]
More likely to mean "more in the future" -

Well if the Flashback system allows me to warp my heroes back to Outbreak and my main Villain to Breakout.....I know what I'll be doing. Got some old business to finish there
Better yet: I know this system is called FlashBACK and will let you play missions/arcs/badges that u missed.....but I hope that it wont allow a lowbie to customize a hi level badge mish and flashFORWARD......picture a level 2 flashing ahead to a customized mission for the Couch Potato Badge.....
hmmm although.....if that WERE possible I can now see getting the Villain accolades VERY early in a toons career. -

While I'm excited that they're letting me ditch my super soaker for a real weopon, could you PLEASE PLEASE fix the frickin bases already?
Give bases some loving in this issue. Please. Some loving. any loving. Just give it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I was also going to wander in here and ask if "base lovin'" in any form might crop up in this issue. Kinda doubting it, but even a statement saying that it's up on the marker board would be nice.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed the robo surgeons for the reclamators became useless with ish 8 coming on. Wouldnt mind a slight fix for that particular problem. Not to mention Cathedral of Pain....unless perhaps the Flashback system will take care of that? -

Flashback.
A start at power customization.
Normally, I'm kinda skeptical at new issue time, but this has me pretty excited. Now, I don't have to carefully plan out how my character is going to do his/her missions in order to see it all.
One question I have though, is Flashback going to allow a character to do all the missions from a contact or just the story arcs?

Story Arcs and Badge missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does this include Safeguards?
[/ QUOTE ]
Does it include the Tutorials so heros can go back for isolator and villains for jailbird? -

Positron,
Does this mean that, well, since Mastermind pets are actually Masterminds weapons.. will we be able to customize the looks of our pets? Like give them their own costumes?

Ok this is good as I got some heroes (yes i play heroside too) that missed some badges.
But now for the big question that I havent seen asked yet (and please no flames on this people its a valid question, and would hopefully put to rest the longstanding issue.)
Can Heroes warp back to Outbreak and slaughter the contaminated for the Isolator badge, and can villains warp back to Breakout and obtain Jailbird badge? And if we cant jump that far back yet, will it be added in later?
Now as to what I think about i11 so far......
Super Rare IO's: ok this is good, gives something to shoot for for my L50's
New power sets = drool in cup
Ah debuff/buff IO's.......i sense my bot/poisons poison powers will get a NICE upgrade......and perhaps Tactics from Leadership can now receive a nice boost too
Weapon customization......ohhhhh yes....... hmmmm can my brute with the stone hammer/elec armor make it look like a staff/walking stick by any chance? I have a sudden urge to have a costume that looks like a weakling with a cane, then use a costume macro to change into brute mode with hammer in hand..... -
[ QUOTE ]
I can agree to this.
It will get rid of one thing to worry about. (ie what level you get an accolade at)
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll say. I am weary of making new villains then prioritizing getting certain accolades (invader, demonic) ASAP before I even start worrying about leveling. -
I dunno, after I plugged that guide into mids planner I was looking at the melee attacks.....does it seem like maybe in the effort to get rid of the slowness of granite/rooted in terms of run speed that maybe things like the recharge penalty were overlooked? Also do the melee attacks themselves seem like maybe they were gimped a bit? I only gave this a cursory look before I had to come to work, so Ill check it again when i get home.
The build Im working on is a bit more balanced in terms of recharge boost and run boost. last check the build im designed has about 45% recharge boost and about 80% run speed boost. -

Ok this is the THUG/Forcefield version of the Bot/FF mastermind guide I have created. Essentially they are the same except the Pet Auras are slotted into Gang War and not the Tier 1 and Tier 2 pets as one would have to do for robots.
Some notes:
Why Maneuvers? Simple, now that IO's are out Maneuvers has become far more useful then ever and some would argue that now its more useful then Assault. Assault is in this build but is taken later on after Maneuvers and Tactics. Vengeance is skipped since this build is easily a build that can solo missions on any setting so why take a team oriented power like Vengeance?
Aid Other is taken in place of repair so that I can heal anyone that is tagging along with me on missions as well as healing my bots.
Aid Self is taken as a failsafe power to help ensure survival. Yes this build offers a very high regen bonus, but don't think that you are indestructible. (though you are very close to being indestructible )
Why no repulsion field or repulsor bomb? Simple. Every foe that is repulsed by the repulsion field is a drain to your stamina. Keep in mind that this build has maneuvers, assault and tactics in it All 3 of those leadership power can be a drain when combined with repulsor field. Repulsor bomb.....I've tried to like that power but i just can't. Detention Field....this power could be substituted for another power I suppose, perhaps assault....however aside from containing an annoying PvP player in a PvP zone or for containing a powerful target while you blast other targets to clear the area, I have no great use for this power.
Why the 6 slotting of Luck of the Gambler? Simple. one of the bonuses is Psi resistance. Psi attacks are the kryptonite of forcefields.
Why the Scirocco Resistance Armor power? Simple. This toon is purely a defense toon, but some attacks can get thru and hit you. Having some resistance is a good thing. Also Slotting up impervium adds some Psi protection as well as slotting up the Aegis+Psi IO.
Why not normal Accuracy and Damage IO's for the pets?
Answer: Pets burn stamina in combat and can run out of power, especially the Tier 2 pets once fully upgraded. One of the Brilliant Leaderships in each pet is a combo of Accuracy+ Stamina to help prevent such power failures. 2 Brilliant Leaderships offers 4% regen to your character and 2 Blood Mandates offers stamina recovery bonus. A normal Accuracy IO and a normal Damage IO are then used for the remaining 2 slots to bring Accuracy and Damage up to full power. Both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 pets in this build have a 99% Accuracy and 96% damage rating and that is without running Assault and Tactics.
Why doesn't this toon have the Taunt/Placate Pet Resistance Aura? Simple: that IO is worthless. What player in PVP is going to Taunt or Placate your pets? Now if that IO is changed so that the protection goes to the Mastermind.....then I would consider slotting it.
Why does this toon have melee powers at all and why are they dual slotted with IO's?
Answer: sometimes foes get within melee range, it happens. Very Rarely but it happens. Also dual slotting of that particular IO gives 8% regen. I can't pass that up
