*pours the beans into an unused pool and dives in, swimming around*
Good morning everyone. Or as good as it gets, I suppose. -
*pushes the kitteh ear headband out from under the sofa towards Fedor*
I can't stand to see a sack boy sulk. -
Ooooh! You revealed the super sekrit sekrit, Fedor! I'm sorry, but I have to revoke your honorary kitteh status now.
*takes back the cat ear headband*
I'm very disappointed. Nobody knew about he secret under the sofa lair before this. Nobody!
*slinks under the sofa for a sulk* -
*lifts her paws and gets under the donut and starts to hula-hoop it while taking bites*
Excercise and noms, thanks! -
Hiya Fedor. Nice jetpack.
*curls up next to Emmi for a kittehnap* -
Do you mean in the Purifier, Rooky? My first time though I succeeded in that challenge too, but shot Autumn anyway. Jerk killed to many people to just walk away from it all. It was a suprise though. I haven't even bothered chatting with him since that first try, but that character was always the sort who tried to deal with situations through peaceful negotiation first.. Then when that didn't work I got out the shotgun for some 12 gauge diplomacy.

*slides Pogo some coffee and pamcakes and puts Creedence Clearwater Revival on the jukebox*
I had a crazy busy weekend. To many things happening that had to be done this weekend only. First double experience. I made some pretty decent progress on a new character... that I probably won't be playing now. I made up a character for this new static villain team, but someone else has a similar concept, so I went with an alternate idea, but not before spending most of what time I had on the first character.
Then it was also an Aion beta weekend. I was kind of meh at first with the game, just like pretty much any other fantasy MMO in structure. But the places where it deviates from the norm really shine. First of all, it's beautiful. I mean amazingly jaw droppingly so. Once you get past the first couple areas it really gets fantastic. It effectively uses short cut scenes in game to set up special events very nicely, like your Ascension. It would be annoying if every time you went to your trainers you had to see a dozen people having their special moment, but handled with the cut scene everyone gets to be happy. It really succeeds in the little ways while feeling comfortable if you're used to playing MMOs of the western feel. Now if only they would drop those annoying player AFK stores, where anyone can plot themselves down with an inventory of things to sell and keep hawking their wares without being at the computer, so they remain for hours and hours. It's not a bad idea in theory... but in practice any well traveled public area quickly becomes packed wall to wall with people trying to sell crap.
And then of course, work. Way to much work because of the first of the month. And still not done with that. But once I am.. It's Mothership Zeta time! *plays creepy theramin music* -
*wakes up on a serving platter on the buffet, looks around confused*
How the heck did I wind up here? Well.. take advantage of it....
*reaches over a bit and picks up some eggs and bacon and begins nomming*
Morning everyone. So, if the lil gem displays our karma status, can we manipulate it by doing good and evil?
*whips out a Mesmertron and zaps Bayani with it*
Nyahaha, now put on this collar and get your butt moving to Paradise Falls! -
I've been using Dismissive Kitty for a while though, I think it's time for a change. I'm just not sure what kind of kitty to use next.
*tussles back wth the large sized sack boy* -
I think it's cute and cuddly, Fedor. I need a new kitteh avatar myself.

Will do then. It gives me an excuse to play around with the new Mad Scientist costume sets too. I'll go with Fire/Pain, since I really want to give Pain Domination a shakedown. Here's the backstory.
Doctor Elizabeth Vulcanna is a medical doctor specializing in paranormal research, particularly involved with the study of the mind and psionics. She had a theory that through specific treatments of certain wavelengths of radiation, latent psionic abilities could be unlocked in so called 'normal' people. Funding and research subjects were always a problem however, especially for such esoteric subjects.
Eventually she found a sponsor in the form of Hero Corps Inc, who wanted a way to develop new 'in house' supers for their company. Just one of their many projects. With their funding she was able to develop her Psion Wave Amplifier and test it on animals. Some success was made, however a rat with the ability to open it's cage door with it's mind was not exactly the results that Hero Corp was looking for. What few human test subject she was able to agree to the rather strong restrictions proved disappointing and inconclusive. In desperation and fear of losing her funding, she used the Psion Wave Amplifier on herself one night, unlocking latent pyrokinetic abilties in her own mind.
With proof positive, Hero Corp was quick to move in. They created a heroic identity for "Doctor Vulcanna" and put her in the field, despite her protests. They also quickly patented and sewed up the rights to the Psion Wave Amplifier, completely cutting Elizabeth out of any credit for her own invention. The PWA was used on a few other subjects who met the criteria for latent psionic abilities, to mixed results.
Bitter over the turn her life had taken and affected in other ways by the PWA, she began to sink into depression and paranoia. Every legal attempt to recover the rights of her invention was neatly blocked by Hero Corp, and her required service as a 'Super Hero' for them was a bitter pill to swallow. Eventually she was approached by the mysterious "Mister", who offered her a different way. A way to get revenge against Hero Corps and the legal system which betrayed her. A way to increase her own power to levels unimagined. A way to make all those who doubted or betrayed her to pay. And so she turned her back on the sun and embraced the shadows.
(Doctor Vulcanna was originally a Blaster I made up as a reluctant scientist working for Hero Corps. I was in a small SG with some friends that eventually kind of fell apart. She was later on reinvented as a Corrupter, but problems with the thermal set made her unpleasant to play for me, so she's been largely shelved for a long time. I really like the fire assault set, just flame shields used to give me bad headaches, so... I'll remake her, but I may lag behind a little bit, depending on when we start the group, since I have to start from scratch again, and the double XP weekend is pretty much over.) -
*randomly curls up on the back of a tiger and points out a corner unscratched*
You missed a spot there. -
I've been working on Rachel this weekend. I had to take thugs just so I could solo through the content to get to 12. A petless MM is just not a very good idea for soloing, but a good idea for grouping, espeically with a strong group support secondary like Pain Domination, which I would need to drop a lot of power picks in anyway. My plan right now is to get to 12 to match up with the rest of the group than burn a respec to get what I had originally planned.
If there are to many masterminds though, I could go with an alternate idea. I've got a character brewing for a science based plant/psi dominator, esentially a force-mutated plant in humanoid form. Also I have a Fire corruptor I wanted to reroll, as I don't much like thermal as a secondary (the flame shields sometimes give me headaches). I was thinking of going /Radiation or /Pain with her.
edit: Missed the line about the brute. I have an existing tech based (Power armor) Electric/Electric brute and an android (Energy/Invuln) brute that are both higher level. I could exemp down until the rest of the group reaches their level. The power armor brute would probably be more suited background and personality wise. I also have a fairly newish SS/Willpower brute, but she's a mutant and really doesn't fit well with the group theme.
So long story short, I'm pretty flexable with the character I can play when it comes to fitting in, once we settle on a team. I'd like to know sooner rather than later though which I should focus on. Especially with this being the last double xp day. -
*pops out of a pair of pants*
Sorry, were these yours? They were just laying in the clean laundry and they looked warm and comfy...
Anyway Bayani, one long thread has been something that's been discussed, yes. Most like the daily threads though because we can easily change and identify the theme of the day, and it makes it more friendly to new people coming in. Instead of seeing a huge 100+ page thread lasting weeks that nobody is going to remember what was said way back then anyway, each day starts fresh, so a lot less to catch up on. -
*cautiously sticks a paw in the new Rookery., testing the floor. Satisfied it's not going to collapse (yet), she pads in*
Hilo all. Oh, it's double XP weekend? Darn it.. everything's happening this weekend, I don't know how to squeeze everything in. -
Is there ever a reason needed for hugs?
*hugs* -
*pulls Fedor out by the scruff of his neck and starts to lick him clean of pudding*
-
Yup yup. Nothing steps up performance like some good old face to face competition. Not of the "Oh, there's other MMOs out there." But now it's "OH! There's other Comics MMOs out there!". Stepping into the COX niche means they've got to step up the game.
I'll admit to trying the beta. And while it's the beta and expected to be rough, I tried to like the game because it was a property I've known and loved for years. It had some improvements over COX in the character designer. I really tried to like it. Rolled up many test characters and played them, trying to get into it. Tried levelling them up to see if I liked it. And somewhere in there I realized I was trying way to hard to like a game, when there's already a similar game I loved. So I just stopped bothered trying. I'll be staying here, thanks. -
*continues pulling the little red wagon with birthday donut into this thread as well*
Yes! It's such a big donut is spans two threads at once! -
*swoons before Rooky*
Ah do declare.. There is something about a literary bird what makes me all weak in the knees.
Oh, and don't think I didn't notice Fed.
*wheels out a little red wagon with a gi-normous chocolate frosted donut (with sprinkles!) and candles on top of it.*
Happy Cake Day! Or in this case.. Happy Donut Day!
*leaves behind a new jetpack with a bow, then starts packing for a few days vacation.* -
*helps the house pack it's bags*
Now, are you sure you have everything? The jumbotron? All the chef bots? The door to the Faerie Realm? I think Pogo's shifting his lab through time and space to be at the new location, but you'd better check just to be sure. Oh! And make sure to pick up the basement, and be careful not to spill any of the healing hot tub water.
*sniffs and smiles proudly as the Rookery. moves to it's new home*
They grow up so fast... -
*looks sadly at her Sackboy attached Reeses cup, then shrugs and starts nomming on the other side*
-
I just finished respeccing and kitting out Iron Kitteh in SOs, so I'll be ready to go.
*waves a medical tricorder over Pogo*
