That's extremely weird, have you petitioned a gm to look into THAT?
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely. -
I was just entering Atlas with my lvl 2 character, having just finished the tutorial. I was waiting for the countdown to clear when I received an email from an RMT spammer who happened to be standing right in front of me. I spamnoted the email and sent a petition. I noted the @global and shortly after this I noticed that the character in front of me, who had a random string of letters that was almost a name, changed not only his name, but his @global at the same time. (there was the notification of the @global change in chat as well). I noted this in a /petition. I then received another spam email from this character, that I spamnoted and petitioned. Shortly after this the character's name and @global changed again.
I thought that you could only change your @global once, and how is it that some spammer has the ability to change their character name without logging out and accessing the the change name feature?
I stayed for a while, just standing near the lvl 1 plain looking spammer and watched as he spammed, changed name and @global 4 more times! I worry that the spammers are doing more than just creating throw away accounts, I'm hoping they aren't hacking directly into the servers. -

so um whats that ati mascot doing... havent heard from "Ruby" in a while.

When she started getting some substantive questions asked of her about why ATI cards just don't work well with Co* the posts from her stopped. I doubt we'll see any posts from her again. -

...This column will be my last one, folks...

No, say it ain't so Peterpeter. Yours was my most read column. I hope there is a new market guru ready to fill your column space, if I can't convince you to return. -
My question about this, which I see as good news, is: "Are you going to merge the Villain boards with the Hero boards, or will they continue to have different log ins?" My hope is that they are merged, but if the decision is to keep them apart, I can live with it. I've lived with it so far.

One of the problems I see is the perceived bias of the moderators on certain kinds of posts. By way of example I will give a non-specific example that is completely fabricated, yet reflects trends that I, and others, have noticed.
Poster_Boy_Adam post a well-written and informative criticism titled The New Grape Power Isnt Good. His post is about a recent change made by the developers. While the post is critical, it in no way falls into an insulting tone. The post goes on to include suggestions that would make the change less of a problem to him as a player and poster.
Troller_Boy_Neil responds with a snarky and insulting post that questions Poster_Boy_Adams sanity, parentage and cleanliness.
All subsequent posts, either ignore Troller_Boy_Neil or questions his motives for posting but do not fall to the level of insults. This doesnt go on for long, because the thread is quickly locked, even though the discussion has moved away from Troller_Boy_Neils insults and stayed on topic to Poster_Boy_Adams initial well written post.
But shortly after Troller_Boy_Neils initial insulting post he then starts a new thread titled The New Grape Power Is all Good. This post is not well written, it is merely a diatribe against posters and players that dont like the recent change, many posters attempt to respond to this thread, since the other thread has been locked, as a way of redirecting the vitriol away from Troller_Boy_Neils post and into the realm of constructive criticism. Each attempt however is responded to by Troller_Boy_Neils insults, those who attempt to report him, find that he has already been reported, but at no point does the thread get locked.
Months later, the snarky thread is still active, with occasional posts from both devs and moderators on the subject, but the snarkiness from Troller_Boy_Neil never goes away, or gets modded in any fashion. When discussion flags, you can bet that Troller_Boy_Neil will Necro that thread.
Meanwhile Poster_Boy_Adam finds that some other posts that he started or responded to have been deleted, but no word as to why ever reaches him.* Strangely only posts critical seem to disappear, those not critical, or defending the devs remain.
Please note, none of the names used are real, nor are they representative of any actual posters.
*From actual experience. -
I have to say that this is the greatest thing to have happen to the Co* franchise since... well... I11. There is one improvement I would like to see, both on the blue skin and on the red skin. It's just a minor QoL feature that I think could go a long way to making me the happiest camper in the game. I would like to see a neutral colored (or neutral grey) background behind the avatar to make color selection easier. You see, sometimes the hair color and costume colors are dark enough to blend into this background in a way that makes it hard to tell how well my color choices mesh. If I make a character with dark hair, quite often I cannot see the hair style well enough. What I currently do is choose the style with the hair colored in a bright yellow, then switch the hair color out. A little tedious if you ask me.
I have to say that the character creation screen is wonderful as it is right now, I often find myself logging into the game just to play with it and not even bother to finish up and jump into Outbreak or Breakout.
Thanks Devs for this great addition. -
The changes made dont really do what seems to be the intent. As others have posted here, soft loading is still possible, and for some desirable. The changes dont affect me, I am only likely to run TF/SF with my super/villain group on a regularly scheduled day and time.
I would like, however, to present an idea for you, my fellow players, and the developers if they are still reading this thread how to make sure, absolutely sure, that a TF/SF are run as a team only and no soft loading is possible. You can file this under it could be worse.
A group is gathered for a TF (in this case lets say Synapse). The minimum is 4, but we have six to start. This sets the number of spawns (for the indoor missions at least) to a 6-man team. We are a few missions into the TF when someone drops connection or logs off. Oops, the next time we get to a door mission no one can enter and text is burped at us stating, All members of the Task Force must be logged on to complete the Task Force. Please note, the person is still a part of the TF but not logged on, we also havent dropped to the minimum for this TF either. Now lets say that two of the members on the team get disgusted with this text and quit the team. We are now down to four players, one of which is not present, but the spawns will now adjust for the new team number of four. Mr. Bad Connection logs back in and apologizes and asks innocently What happened to the others? This drives one other person on the team away and he quits, since we are now below the minimum for the TF, the TF team dissolves, and the guy that started the whole thing must try to round up others if he really wants that badge and recipe.
To summarize, all members of a TF/SF must be logged on for the TF/SF to continue. Spawn size is adjusted upward to match team size from the minimum. A team that drops below the minimum dissolves as a team, since they cannot be expected to compete against the minimum spawn size.
All in all, Id rather live with the changes actually made than what I proposed here. -
I just wanted to add a minor correction to the classified ad that leads to This Post, Veterans Day, unlike many other holidays, isn't observed on the most convenient Monday, it is on November 11th whatever day of the week it happens to be, this year it is on a Sunday, so many people don't get the long weekend you get with, say, Labor Day.
I understand that the in game event is scheduled for the 12th and I am, by no means, critical of the event itself. I think such an event is a very honorable thing to have here in the City of franchise. -
I recently saw a post where someone said "if you aren't making influence at the CM then you aren't doing it right" and directed the reader to a link in their sig to a step by step guide on how to get rich when starting from scratch.
I did not save the guide in my favorites, nor can I remember the name of the poster of this guide. My search -fu is not that great, does anyone have a clue what the guide is named? -
There is another option. You can drop the mission from the contact that sent you to Wincott. You get the XP as if you ran from KR all the way to The Hollows and back, but you don't get Wincott added to your contact list.

Globulous
Level: 10
Science - Tanker Freedom
Invulnerability - Super Strength - Super Jump (eventually)
Description:
Glenn Loeb, professional wrestler, used whatever means necessary to bulk himself up. When a request for "test subjects" caught his eye he jumped at the opportunity. The test went wrong and he found himself bulked up to gigantic proportions. Imbued now with an invulnerable skin and superior strength he's given up on professional wrestling and entered the ranks of Paragon's super-heroes.
His current hero costume is merely his "wrestling" outfit. I see the Tribal Markings as tattoos, so they can't come off, but they don't need to be carried over to any outfit. He is huge. His size has all the sliders at maximum except for his head. All the sliders are at minimum. -
I like your guide, and I'm using it for my "one man SG". However, I have a question. How, exactly do you go about adding alts to your group? Since I cannot invite someone who is not online, and I can't have two of my characters online at the same time, I'm at a loss.
I've had it suggested that I invite someone to my SG, give them the power to invite, log in with my alt have the noob with invite powers invite my alt and then kick the noob. That seems needlessly cruel to noobs. It also risks having someone with the power to invite anyone they like to a supergroup that I wish to be the only member of. -
So, there I was looking throught your list and saw the word "teabag". My reaction was one of "No, the didn't..." then I checked the animation and said "Oh, thank goodness"
