  1. Tamesis was no fool, especially when it came to combat. His specialist squad was not only already dead, but had been taken down in no less that a single hit, in some few cases two. This being said, as he had already established himself as a hostile, there was no point in stalling for time and hoping for a mutual agreement. He again lunged at the draconian being, hoping that his recent toss of a corpse had kept him off guard long enough to be punched in the jaw within a half second of Tamesis's recovery.
  2. Tamesis then burst onto the scene at Weaver Airfield via a bright flash of light and an operating teleporter, accompanied by a specialist squad of Wolf Spider Huntsmen.

"Status report!" He shouted to nobody in particular, automatically targetting and letting loose on a single shadow creature, his body being engulfed once again by black flame.

    -----

    "Mission Failed. Statement: Damn."

L3-37, unsure of what to do, simply touched down onto a landing pad and waited, due to its lack of orders from both is five bretheran, and Jake himself.

    -----

Jake quickly navigated to a friendly Arachnos teleporter, bringing himself back to Steel Canyon's Arachnos Outpost. Determined to once again get back to the scene, if for no other reason than to simply not fail his mission. He brought five more robots into existance in front of them, anxiously awaiting the end of the thirty seconds it would take to download their AI.
  3. "Save the lecture." He replied back to Mortanis, not bothering to turn away from the first two villains. "I've heard it all before. From other villains, heroes, my superiors, you name it. But do you see me dead?" He finally turned to the man, sliding his blast goggles over his eyes and scanning his face, thereby learning his name.

Mortanis, huh? Never heard of him.

"There answer's no, if you hadn't figured it out." He continued, the gestures his hands were moving in spelling out his superiority complex. "I can back up what I boast, which is more than what most can say."
  4. L3-37 blinked, simply put. The Detention Field was supposed to stop even teleporters from having access to the outside world, keeping even the most jumpy of foes pinned down until it was convienent to let them do otherwise.

Needless to say, he was confused.

"Statement: File Directory, Internet Acronym: wtf?"
  5. Jake smirked, looking the villain in the eye. "Sorry, that was meant to be rhetorical. Shall we get going?" He cockily began walking toward the ferry, all six of his minions following behind him.

"Well, aren't you coming?" He shouted back to them after getting about ten feet away from the two. "Weren't you the guys who wanted to go to another place in the first place?" He chuckled, his amusement at himself obvious.
  6. Jake wasn't stupid. He could tell that he was being judged, and possibly even discussed. Honestly, he didn't care, his youthful arrogance ensuring him that he would win if it came down to a contest of strength.

"Port Oakes is fine." He stated, his robots leaping off of the building and next to him even as he called them down. "I hope you don't mind my friends coming along."
  7. All of Arbiter Walsh's sensors suddenly spiked beyond any level they had been at before, causing him to double back in surprise.

    [ QUOTE ]
He looked up at Jake, shouting as loudly as he could "GET OUT OF HERE!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Y- Yeah." He stuttered, muttering a small command and immediately teleporting out of harm's way.

The five robots within range of the blast were, needless to say, utterly decimated.

    -----

Jake reappeared roughly a quarter of a second later in Arachnos's section of the main villain headquarters in Talos. (I think?) Brushing a small strand of hair out of his eyes, he hesitantly allowed himself to sit down, his eyes still wide from the sheer amount of energy that had threatened him.

    "Whoa."

    -----

Tamesis hadn't even noticed the blast. Those that said the Fortress was well defended weren't kidding, the invisible shockwave that made its way to the base harmlessly cascading over it's enchantmented and technologically created shields. Still grumbling, he made his way to the air field, requesting to a random Bane Spider he encountered on the way to find him a squad of Wolf Spiders he could use for his next task. His armor clanged against the metal flooring as he continued to stomp along, the Bane spider speedily changing course as he requested a squad at the nearest communication device.

    -----

Unfortunately for Anthius, L3-37 had just arrived within the shield's protective bubble as the wave washed over the Arachnos Outpost. His goal still attainable, he simply continued to rocket on into the base, Arachnos readings on him identifying him as an underling of Jake's.

Beginning to make his descent, he slowly began to drop down on a landing pad near the top of the base.

Time was running out for Anthius.
  8. Tamesis simply blinked, Daos's orders subconsciously registering in his head as he followed Daos and Cynic walking out of sight. "What the [censored] just happened here?" He said rather loudly, most of the soldiers in his section of the base hearing it.

    [ QUOTE ]
"Nothing to see here, move along." One of the assistants, a fotunata fateweaver, said in a pleasent and hypnotic tone, and it was clear there had been a hint of a Psionic suggestion in there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Yeah, yeah." He muttered, waving the fortunata's statement off with the wave of a hand. "Hush hush situation. Jesus." He walked off toward his next assignment, relayed to him by a Bane Spider from Malak, his annoyance showing clear his his body language.

((Just a quick refresher, what were Scirrocco's orders, again?))

    -----

While it was true that the robots had no concept of the eleventh dimmension, (Hell, they barely had a concept of the first four.), it didn't keep the shield from defending them from everything. It didn't matter where the attacks were coming from, unless it completely and totally overwhelmed the forcefield, no attack would make it budge.
  9. ((Sorry, I'm away for the weekend. Expect a post on Sunday.))
  10. W0-07 was as confused by this as a robot could be, but paid it no mind. Using their logic programming to determine that pretty much any means of physical attack would be met with failure on their part, they simply waited. Surely this reality distortion wouldn't last long.

Or at least, not nearly as long as their forcefields.

Still laughing, W0-07 took the blows with almost nothing to show for it, pretty much setting in stone the fact that simple negative smashes weren't going to break through.
  11. The bots knew not the definition of drained. While it was true Acanous had taken away energy from them, it would take more than a couple of seconds of energy absorbtion to even put a dent in their battery supply.

That being said, when Acanous attempted to unleash the stolen onto Jake's robots, they simply turned on a Personal Forcefield. When the hero got close enough to hit W0-07, he simply uttered, "lulz", and slammed him in the head with an extremely heavy metallic arm. Unless the hero had some means to completely ignore pain (Not unlikely considering what they'd seen), he should be soaring towards the ground due to being simply knocked unconscious.
  12. Jake hopped down from his perch, activating his boots to cushion his landing and keep him upright as he collided with the ground. He took a moment to brush the dirt off of his trench coat before meeting Siren's gaze. "Whatever you say. Just know I can have a little under an army at my location with the press of a button, so any funny business won't be met with welcome."

This was, of course, an exagerration, if not an outright bluff. However, the two villains had no way to come to that conclusion.

"In any case, lead the way. Where would you suggest?"

I would make a Tanker just for this.
  14. The teen's eye twitched as the two walked along their merry way, not paying so much as a second of attention to him.

"Hey!" He shouted, pointing in their direction menacingly. "I'm talking to you!" His cry echoed across the small neighborhood they were currently in, his voice carrying to many uninvolved and unimportant ears.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
((oh god..project you just unleashed two of the most ignored, yet conversely most inserted RP characters ever..say hello to Dusan and Dennis))

    ((Kekekekekeke.

Edit: Also, I think this is only their third thread, one of them being Diov's now dead one.))
  16. "'Fraid your worries are unnecessary." A cocky voice sounded, the source being a white-haired youth in a trench coat and rocket boots standing atop a building, a half-dozen mechines in tow.

"'Cause Arachnos has already caught up. Figures you two'd decide to hang out in this gutter." He raised his hands up in a sweeping gesture, indicating the whole of Mercy Island.

"Anyway, you two gonna come quietly? I'd hate to waste effort capturing you by force."
  17. ((Was referring to Angus, actually, Cham. I believe he used some sort of smoke screen.

    Also,

    SOULS you say? *Strokes goatee*))

Two figures stood atop a building in Steel Canyon, viewing the battle below with a sort of morbid curiosity. Odds were, the Arachnos forces were going to win, considering all but three heroes were on the scene and the Sky Raiders seemed to be up to the necks with one of them. One seemed to be jumpier than the other, fidgeting around with what could be described as almost anxiousness.

"The Hell are you so worked up about?" A transparent figure cried, his voice giving away his obvious teenage age.

"I just felt something. Something reeeeeaaaaally powerful." The other replied, his deepened voice showing him to be many years older than his youthful counterpart.

    "What? Somebody else coming?"

"No, no, not that. It was off in the distance. Just some really huge discharge of spiritual energy. "

"Well, let's not get involved. Until we actually find the main force of heroes, we're not going to be doing much good. Hell, I'd even advise against getting involved with this little brawl until we see some actual resistance coming from the heroes."

    "Yeah."

The older one sat down on the edge of the building with the ghost.

    "Hey Dennis?"

    "Yeah Dusan?"

"You ever wonder why we're here?"

"... No, I never, ever, wonder why we're here."

    -----

"Well, OK the-What the Hell? He's an honorary what?!" Tamesis wasn't so much outraged at this as he was shocked. "But he didn't even know this was an Arachnos Outpost! He didn't even have the identification to open a simple door! How is he an honorary Arbiter?!" He dropped his salute, instead using his hands to display gestures indicating confusion and slight annoyance.
  18. "Oh, Arbiter Daos!" Tamesis cried, spinning around and giving an automatic salute to his superior, glaring back at Cynic for his 'freak' remark.

Glancing back at Daos, Tamesis replied, "I attack an intruder, sir, under Scirrocco's orders. Is there a problem, sir?"
  19. ((The bots are now flying outside the building, Cham. >.&gt)

While it was true Angus had just caught Jake's 'bots off guard, a smoke grenade wasn't going to do much to obstruct their vision. The five of them simply changed their view to thermal, the giant Assault Bot, W0-07, literally swinging his arm around at the attacker, hoping to catch him in the face with a four hundred pound hunk of metal.

The other four continued their onslaught of plasma at Acanous, refusing to stop until he was either dead or incapacitated. However, considering this was roughly his third time to be brought back from the brink of death today, it seemed that the latter would have to be the solution.

In any case, Acanous would be getting a fresh wave of plasma flying in his direction.

    -----

Part of the concrete building broke off as Jake used it to push himself off of it, using the boost to increase his speed as he flew towards the attacker. This move would normally be considered suicide, especially against a hero, but his plan was not to make contact, but rather to increase the force of his Force Bolt. Angus would find that at least two metric tons of force were now flying towards him at nearly the speed of a bullet.

Jake pulled himself out of his suicide dive, flying about twenty yards away and turning back around to survey the damage done to the newcomer.

    -----

"Well, damn." Tamesis muttered, kicking an imaginary rock on the ground and glancing back at the Bane Spider. "You sure? Nothing in the armory?" Upon seeing the nod, he sighed.

"What about supers? Surely we have some of those on call." This would be his last hope. Only a different kind of super would help him in this situation.
  20. ((Ah, alright then. Post coming soon.))
  21. ((No offense Angus, but are you saying that a stream of pure concentrated plasma can't penetrate metal?))
  22. Tamesis's eyelid twitched. "Jesus." He muttered again, burying his face in his hands. "Just go down already..." He glanced over at the Bane Spider who had fired the Sonic Cannon, getting his attention with a not-so-subtle "HEY!".

"You! Jake uses one of these things, right? Do we have anything that can cancel it out? A disruptor or something?"

    Curses. Beaten to the punchline.
  24. Anthius would be sorely dissapointed in his attempts to escape. He would only find that the shield remained at a constant strength, giving no indication as to when or why the robot would even consider having to renew it.

In addition, he was only partially correct in assuming L3-37 could not put up two shields at once. True, while he couldn't put up multiple shields on one target, this didn't stop him from simply renewing the shield.

Speaking of, his sensors indicated that it was time to renew the thing, and he obeyed with mechanical precision.

The Fortress was fastly approaching, it's base already in plain view, giving both L3-37 and Anthius a magnificent view of its full splendor.

"Remark: Welcome to your new home."

    -----

The instant Angus showed himself for an attack, he would find a plasma beam connecting with his head, melting whatever would have been protecting it, as well as melting the inside of his skull, should it have enough energy left over.

The robots had no cause for worry. Their sensors had informed them of Jake's arrival. He would deal with this newcomer.

    -----

"Oh, come on!" Tamesis shouted, fuming that nothing seemed to penetrate the shield. "What are you, a freaking demi-god? Jesus!" He stomped his foot and balled his hands into fists. He wasn't used to this, an opponent that couldn't be damaged. Surely, he would have to get creative. Perhaps trap him instead of damage him.

But that was more Jake's department. He couldn't hold somebody down for long enough to lock them up. Only-

"... That's it." He muttered, almost smirking. "Switch to Web-Nades!" He shouted, as he liked to call them. "If we can't beat him down, we'll hold him down."

The soldiers complied, and soon enough, a tidal wave of sticky web grenades were arcing towards Cynic, threatening to literally wrap him in a caccoon.
  25. ((OK, sorry, wasn't aware of that.))
