  1. "Ah, Flaming Earth..." Jake muttered as he saw the invitation, getting up from his spot next to DJ Zero and walking over to the fellow villain. "Long time no see." He said as he approached, smiling and helping himself to a turned around seat. "So what's up? You wanted me to see something?"
  2. "Fair enough." He half said, half muttered, giving a friendly wave as he made his way over to the inspiration bins and picked out a few that he thought useful.

After looking around a bit, he frowned slightly. What? No seats? I swear, hospitality these days... Giving a little sigh, he leaned against a wall where he had a perfect vantage point of all the incoming supers, despite not caring much for his potential allies.
  3. Dusan quickly arrived at his local Green Line, teleported himself to Vanguard DPO, and got directed to the Security Chief without too much incident, which was a wonder considering with only a white T-Shirt and baggy jeans on, he didn't look like much of a meta.

"So, you're the guy I gotta talk to about this demi-god, right? So what's the situation?" He asked these questions as straight-forward as possible, accustomed to getting his information fast and accurate, however, he had other reasons other than habit for wanting to hurry this up. Truth be told, he disliked the idea of dealing with someone more powerful than The Statesman, and he'd dealt with more than one entity without a soul. In those cases, he was what was often called a 'buff bot', only useful to enhance the souls of others to new heights, and even then, if villains were involved, some may not even have those. [Hell, maybe even some heroes.] All in all, his powers were purely situational.

Mind you that a convienant situation is rather common, but nonetheless...
  4. "Penny? Yeah, I'm fine, and I'd love to join you if it weren't for the fact that we're needed at HQ." He stated, just before shouting.

"Present."Jake gave a wave as he and his bots casually strolled into the room as Grey asked for a roll call. "And all minions accounted for."

"Alright, folks. Let's get some patrols going. We need forward progress here, and the sooner we can get moving, the better."

    [/ QUOTE ]

"I could send a few Drones forward to scope things out. I'm sure Penny and Toy would also be happy to oblige, if one of them hasn't already done so." He said this half expecting his suggestion to have already been done, not wanting to do much work himself.

  6. Wirespike landed softly on the roof and took note of the lifeless corpse, not saying much of anything as he observed the scene.
  7. "Fair enough..." Jake muttered as he accepted the folder, fully assuming that Eff was still watching from somewhere. He decided to take advantage of this moment of [semi]seclusion to peek at the contents of the folder as Ineffable had predicted, making sure to absorb the information fully before placing it into his trenchcoat.
  8. (OK, this character is still in developement, but, since I hate to pass up joining a promising RP, I think I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Anyway, everyone, meet Tenrai Shinzui. [Roughly translated, Divine Spirit.] Magic Controller with the ability to manipulate souls, to an extent. Tenrai Shinzui, everyone.

Anyway, I'll be updating my Character Description post with his information soon after this post, so check in on that if you care.)

"You're kidding me..." Dusan said as he lightly tossed the file he had been handed down onto the desk of his contact, having already thorougly looked over it. "You know I only go for bounties. Why should I care if some guy kidnaps an official, again," He said, emphasizing that last word, "with the hope he can meld the world to his will? This is hero business, Jack." He had a rather annoyed look on his face, seeming upset at the very suggestion of him doing something selfless.

"Yeah, yeah, I know." Jack replied, grabbing the file and storing it in a drawer under his desk. "But, the thing is, it's not hero business."

Dusan's ears perked at this, although he said nothing.

"The situation has become dire enough to get Vanguard involved, which also means that villains are coming into the mix."

"And if villains are voluntarily going..."

"Exactly. There's a reward." Jack replied, leaning back in his chair and webbing his fingers together, a satisfied grin playing across his lips as he saw the wheels turning in Dusan's head.

Sighing, the super powered youth gave in. "Alright. What do I have to do, exactly?"

A full blown grin replaced the smile Jack's face as he saw him give him. "All you have to do is go to Baumtown. Details of the situation will be given there."

As he saw Dusan turn to leave, he stopped him, giving a final piece of advice.

"I have to warn you though, kid, that guy laid Statesman out cold. You'd better be careful."

The look on his face could reflect that of pure terror the moment after he finished his sentence, and that of a certain cocky teen's the next. "Relax Jack, if it has a soul, it's not getting away from me..." With that, he walked out of Jack's office, making a beeline for Baumtown.
  9. Jake remained strangely calm as Ineffable suddenly appeared in front of his face, threatening him and holding his superiority over his head, teasing him like you would a cat with yarn.

If there was one thing that he had learned in the Isles, it was that psycology was half the battle. If you showed yourself to be afraid or threatened, the enemy would grow more confident with the assumption that they have power over you.

Jake applied this knowledge to the current situation, and nonchalantly answered Ineffable as best he could.

"Oh, just large enough to get me to a rather high rank in the organization." He said, his bots charging their weaponry at the Stalker Brute due to his aggressive nature. Jake calmly and nonverbally ordered them to keep their weapons charged, but not to fire until he gave a signal.

"You're right, though. Perhaps I was a bit hasty in obtaining my orders, and there isn't a way that I know of to detect teleportation... Well, maybe, I could work with Naylor to detect a dimmensional increase in energy..."He stated, trailing off and going into thought for a second or two before visibly shaking the thought out of his head. "Another time perhaps..." He muttered. Jake then pulled out the recorder and seperated it from its tape. Jake held it up high above his head and allowed a single battle drone to shoot several holes into the tape, making sure to destroy the actual reel so that the recording couldn't somehow be recovered.

"But you seem like a reasonable guy." He continued, walking forward and back in a fashion that would eventually form a rut in the floor. "I don't really see a reason for you to go and snitch on me, at least, no reason that wouldn't benefit you.... You are a villain, yes?"

"Which leads me to this question. Why does any of my business concern you in the first place? Don't tell me you were ordered to keep an eye on me." He said this in a fashion that his wording would contradict. Instead of saying it sharply and with reprimend, he said it with pure curiosity in his voice, hoping the tone would soften up Eff's opinion of him.

Edit: (Diov, somehow, I knew you would be the one to get me into this situation... )
  10. "... Kay..." He said, a little dumbstruck at his explanation and clear impatience for a response. Rolling his shoulder a bit to make sure his arm was alright, he glanced over his minions and determined that they were all in working condition, ready for battle at a moment's notice. "Yeah..." He muttered, walking toward and opening. "I think I'll take a page from Eff's book and do a little scouting." Jake ordered his minions into a defensive follow stance and walked down what appeared to be an empty corridor, making sure he was far out of sight and sound before he turned to his true purpose for getting away from the group.

Jake pulled out a small tape recorder, completely with head phones and tape. He eagerly slipped on the headphones and hit play on the recorder, anxious to know why he was dragged to the Rikti Homeworld.

He quickly got his answer, and a malicious grin played across his lips.

It was impossible to hear what was being said through the headphones. There was absolutely no frequency that could be picked up, traced, or otherwise noticed. There was but a small EM field that the tape recorder gave off.

All in all, this information was for Jake's ears only.

And he intended to keep it that way.

"Recluse, you're putting a lot on my shoulders, but if this works, the pay-off is going to be enormous..."
  11. Jake heaved a sigh of relief as the Dark Watcher automaton let out a horrifying scream and shut down for good. He scratched the back of his head out of habit and listened to further instructions from Lady Grey.

    [ QUOTE ]
If you're injured, report to a medical station.

    [/ QUOTE ]

"That's my cue..." He muttered, walking forward to a station and calmly addressing what appeared to be someone who knew what he was doing. "Hey, my arm sort of broke, so, if you could just set the thing and hand me a sling, I'd be happy to move along." He emphasized his point by pointing to his arm's rather obvious limpness, hoping that it wouldn't take too long to fix.
  12. (Mmmmkay... I'll just assume Zero politely ignored Jake and heeded his words at the same time. >.&gt
  13. "Hmm..." Jake simply grunted as he landed on the rooftop, observing simply a headless body with the head a few feet away. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's the person we recently risked out [censored] to save... Certainly reassuring to see her headless form here..." He remarked sarcastically, seeming only slightly affected by the new developement. He turned to Soul Striker and spoke. "Where to now, then, captain?"
  14. "Oh [censored]!" Was all the time Jake had to shout out as the automaton decided to target him. Instinctively realizing that he hadn't the time to activate his forcefield, he simply did what he could to brace himself, hoping the shot wouldn't be fatal.

    [ QUOTE ]
Then again, that hardly mattered, because he landed on top of the automaton by falling on it after disolving a hole in the ceiling.

Ineffable was either very very lucky or just had good timing, because he was falling onto the imposter the moment he came out of his teleport. He would not be able to do so again before the leather-wearing monster had crashed into him

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Holy..." Jake muttered, not being dumbstruck enough at his luck to not get away from the threat ASAP. "Thanks, dude, I owe you one." He shouted as he jumped back and observed his minions open fire.
  15. (I'm gone for two days and you guys write six pages? *Sighs* Fine. I suppose I'll read through it. *Grumble*

Edit: That... wasn't much time at all, actually... *Shrug* Whatever, makes my job easier.)

Jake had been nonchalantly sipping his drink, watching the event unfolding with interest. He hadn't a reason to get involved in the fight, and was now simply observing and enjoying his show. It wasn't often that DJ Zero let a fight go on this long, and it might pay off to learn why.

Of course, when he learned that the man was the infamous Poe, his smirk dropped to allow his more serioiusly toned 'Oh crap...' face to show.

Poe here certainly isn't a good thing. He's after something... no, scratch that, someone. DJ Zero? No. He wouldn't target him in a dimmension where he's a god. He mentioned Power Breaker earlier, could that be it, or would I be reading too much into it then? He sighed. Whatever. In any case, I don't want to get involved. Jake nonchalantly walked away from the mayhem, repositioning himself within speaking distance of DJ Zero himself.

"If I could be so bold," He began, "Why have you let the fight over there go on for so long without even so much as a warning? Normally you'd ask types like me to not even summon henchmen, let alone order them to fire on someone. So what gives?"

  18. "Another soda, preferrably Root Beer, but I'm good with anything else." He said, the glare retreating from his face and him retaking his former position.

He yawned and carelessly followed the waiter with his eyes, eventually seeing him eat the negative energy. Jake's eyes widened and his mouth was opened.

D-... Did h e just eat negative energy?! The Hell is this guy?
  19. "And I am, of course, ignored..." Jake muttered, glaring at the waiter. He grumbled and moved from his comfy position to get himself a refill, making a mental note to not tip the waiter.
  20. Jake leaned against a wall in the corner of the wall, sipping a soda and lazily eyeing everyone in the particular room he was in. He sighed and put his drink on a table, putting both his hands behind his head and wondering why he had even come here in the first place.

Guess it was just to relax. I have been working an awful lot lately. S'pose I just need to loosen up.

He yawned and picked his drink back up, loudly slurping the last of its contents out of the glass.

"Hey waiter, can I get another drink over here?"
  21. Jake pumped his un-broken arm in a short moment of victory before scanning the area for the Dark Watcher automaton. His eyes quickly skimmed across the room, finally resting on the entrance to the chamber Lady Grey resided in. "Alright then, one down, one to go." He ordered his minions to charge their fire and focus on Dark Watcher as he watched from a safe distance.
  22. Jake smirked and put his hands in his pockets, muttering something about 'subtle manipulation', making sure to keep Soul from hearing it.
  23. Jake observed Twilight as he flew off in a random direction, stating calmly that Arrow was very upset with something, and implying that he was going to him. He glanced at Wirespike, who merely shrugged.

"I'm only here to make sure you don't get killed. It's your call."

Jake sighed and put his palm to his forehead. "We'll hang here for a bit, then. When Striker feels like being useful again, we'll go to Perez."

"Sounds like a plan." Jake's double responded, crossing his arms and adjusting his position.
  24. ((Welcome! I'll join shortly, providing I can come up with a character that would care enough to actually go to Pocket D. >.&gt)
  25. Jake sighed and rubbed the back of his head in a nonchalant manner. "Just let him mope. The guy was like a father to him." He said, adding, "Mind you a father who would sooner kill his kid than risk having him found by the Masters, but hey? Who am I to judge?" Under his breath.

    -----

Wirespike had nothing to add on the subject, instead turning to Psycho13. "Firstly, let me classify myself as friendly. Believe me, if I wanted you dead, we'd already be fighting. Secondly, I have no earthly clue. The only reason I'm even here is because I happened to spy my younger self." He said, hiking a thumb to Jake. "So, on that note," He crossed his arms. "I'm open for suggestions."
