QR - OK, I just ran #1945: Positron's Task Force: the Remix on my 50 en/en blaster. I sent you feedback tells as I played it, but just to recap here, IMO its a short, fun, easy arc with a few tiny spelling errors (I pointed them out so I assume they'll be gone soon) and no other bad points as far as I could see. I especially liked the vomiting mage, and posi's dialogue and actions (with the hand mirror for example) had me chuckling.

It's not world-beating comedy, but it's a country mile ahead of a lot of the crap that clogs up the MA. It's a 'nice little arc', if i can skirt with sounding patronising.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the souvenir after a while, though

I'm starting another of your arcs now.

I remember something about critter Default Descriptions causing problems (showing up in the Description box when they weren't supposed, or being too long, or something). You could delete any critter Descriptions that you did not make, and see if that brings it down to roughly the size you had before. If so, republish and see if the descriptions show up properly when the arc is played. If not, you can try editing again, clicking Default Description for those critters, and see what it does. If it puts it back up over 100%, send in a petition.

I looked at the descriptions for all critters. they havent changed at all. Ill try your suggestion and see if that works.

I have a publisheda rc still up that is playable, but shows as 104% in edit mode too. I cant edit that, obviously, as it wouldnt be publishable if i did unless I savaged it to bring it down under 100k again. I have no idea why the MA lets it stay up when its over 100k though.

Second. Win 7 RC1 stands for Windows 7, Release Candidate 1. Windows 7 is the next Windows Operating System from Microsoft after Vista and Release Candidate 1 means it's still beta but feature complete. This doesn't mean it's still not buggy as all get out and then there's the whole are there stable drivers for all your hardware with this new OS.

Also there are a few other differences between Vista Basic and Vista Premium than missing Aero.

Looking at the list of things Vista Basic doesnt have that premium has,m i cant see that I'd miss any of them. Apart from maybe the swichy graphics thing lol.

Its no worse than XP Home in terms of functionality, is it?

Qr - I can access coh again now, but I've decided to redesign my arc The Audition into two three-mission arcs, as the filesize elephantitis has made it impossible to fit into one arc.

It's my birthday today, so I won't have time between drinks to play your arcs, but I will definitely do them tomorrow.

I thought the only different between vista basic and premium was the aero thing and media center?

Is there much difference between xp home (what I'm using now and m v happy with) and vista basic?

And now the problem is much worse than a reduction. The filesize is now 106.43%. The details of the mission havent changed at all. Finding 6% to trim is impossible, I'd already edited the bejeesuz out of it to get it down to its previous 100%.

Has no-one else noticed any increase in their filesize recently? If anyones got an arc at 99% or near thnats published, could you pop into edit mode to see if the size has changed at all? If it has and you exit and abandon changes, the arc will stay published and playable.

Seems to be solved now. I deleted everything apart from the pigg folder, and started the updater again. The new version works.

My Customs haven't changed. Nothing has changed as far as i can see. I've bugged it. Hopefully the Issue 15 changes will help, but that doesn't explain what's happened.

QR - right, something is definitely screwy with my arcs. My first arc, The Echo, was at 92% or so, never had any problems with it at all. I just thought to check that out. First I tried tom play it. No problem. The i tried to edit it. 102%. error, your arc is too long. If i exit and abandon changes, its still fine, playable.

Something happens when i go into edit mode that either bumps up the filesize or reports its too large in error.

Qr - if I wanted this, I'd gave the collection trigger a boss (set to minion status if you needed him to not stand out overly) and gave the boss bag instruction 'silence all witnesses' or sth. Set the collection to spawn at back, the boss at front, have 'investigate' as the defeat alls nav.

Hopefully then, the player will either fight Or stealth through to the back, find the collection, and then assume it's a kill all, finding the boss last as he fights his way back to the front.

So today I manage to login again and now it's playable live, but one objective in mission 3 won't spawn, rendering the arc uncompleteable, so I go into edit mode to find the arcs apparently 107.42%. NOTHING is different. No extra customs, no extra text.

I'm so depressed just thibking about what tge hell to do I can't be bothered to go on. I pulled it.

I love the MA. But it's a piece of crap.

Qr - thanks v much for reviewing my arc. I'm afraid Im having serious login difficulties at present, hence why I haven't played your arcs yet.

Just a few responses re your points. The defeat all you mention isn't a defeat all. It's a sequence of chained bosses (all minion-level) and one object-for the purpose of forcing the narrative to arrive in sequence - that mission being a musical number.

The bank mission is a defeat all but it's a tiny map.

The Audition itself is all 5 missions, each one being the plAyers chance to succeed in one of The Five Heroic Tasks. Unfortunately, the TP sends you to the wrong place each time.

The last mission references the works of Stanislaw Lem, specifically his book The Cyberiad, rather than Adams.

Sadly, my arc may be damaged in some way. In the brief tone I was able to login yesttersau, I saw it was down to 87% from the 100.00% I t was published at, but I cdt'd before o could check.

QR - tweaking, for sure. One thing I'm happy to see is the ability to level select the mission. Makes the awkward workaround of forcing an auto-exemp by having an 'invisible mob) unnecessary.

I made the mistake of copying over anything I thoiught was necessary from my old CoH folder. Ah well, another 7 hour dl isnt going to kill me

To find my newa rc uncompletable and borked ina few ways, through no fault of my own. Grr.

Anyway, I'm sorting it.

One of the changes since two days ago is a mysterious reductiuon in the filesize from 100.00% to 87%. I cant find anything missing, either. thats pretty much a WTF moment there. Its annoying as hell, since I tore my hair out ditching various witty linesa nd poignant clues etc.

In the end I just changed the name of my CoH folder, DLed a new updater into a new folder and let it dl the client afresh, It seems to have workd - Ive logged in once, got a mapserver DC after ten minutes but it let me back in again.

I'm still getting a new rig though
