I believe this Intiative in the German Parliament is targeting purely the titles it conciders blatant ie: Crysis, Farcry, MoH, etc, basically anything that buts you in FPS mode gunning down humanoids and games taht are a kind of rampage-porn like Postal. Its supposed to stop lunatics being inspired to play their fantasies out in real-life and I believe the whole intiative was started after a german university rampage killing.

(runs finger along top of forums sections to check for dust)

Not a big fan of white text on colour personally, It can get a bit hard on the eyes after a while, also the forum sections seem a bit confusing compared to the clearcut old EU boards... Still, willing to give it a go, benefit of the doubt and all that.

Above and beyond specific words (such as the ones FFM and others have mentioned), there can also be misunderstanding in the tone of posts.
I have noticed some cross cultural misunderstanding arise when sarcasm, Irony or revelling in a good ole Old World moan can be interpreted wrongly as being negative for negative's sake by West Coast American culture which is pretty upbeat and positive.

For an awful lot of the Doom-Posts™ there is a current and underlying concern for a game they love that they feel is going down the wrong path or Devs not taking advantage of Ideas put forward in 'Suggestions' section. This latter being felt quite strongly on the old EU suggestions section.

In short, we moan because we care™ - don't take it too personally y'all.

If any US. Mod is unsure of a tone of voice in a post or thread that they cannot understand, feel free to run it by any of us EU Veterans whom I'm sure will be able to offer some analysis and advice.

The Issue is, that Paragon studios are afraid that if they add children in Paragon there will be the temptation to roll some kind of 'dirty old man Paedo-toon' and hang around them doing inappropriate emotes.

That, (I feel) is ridiculous, because inappropriate names/in-game broadcasts re: anything detremental is already covered by the EULA.
The same Issue was put up as opposition (in all of the dozen threads we've had on the lack of children and ethnic districts) Re: cultural diversity in City Zones (eg: a China Town).
To be honest when flying around Millenium City's Chinatown (Red Banner territory) I didn't notice any racist slanty eye'd comments in any of the broadcast channels and I believe there are children there too - no paedos hanging around either surprise-surprise.

We need diversity and variety in City Zones, architecture and ethnic districts to make the city realistic. All these ridiculous arguments such as 'no children' are a moot-point but as I said - already covered by the EULA.

If you've seen Millennium City first hand, in all its districts, you'll appreciate just how bland and aged the CoH city zones are now looking.

Nice suggestion Zortel, but I suspect we are 'peeing into the wind' re: comprehensive zone reduxs. Believe me, I'd love to stand corrected.
