Eh, it seems to be a bad week for everyone-we're running errands again tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll be around.
Why don't we retry the Sara Moore next week? Same TF, same days/times, just pushing it to next week. If you are on the team roster for next week and CANNOT make it, please let me know ASAP! -
Posted one? Two? new sections to the Teamsters thread...you can find it by clicking the link in my sig.
-
Blue (or whoever starts a team), if I'm not there by about 8:30 pm EST, one of the following things happened:
-we got caught up in errands and couldn't make it back to the house
-Kyo finally collapsed from lack of sleep
If it gets to that point and I'm a no-show, it's up to you guys whether you go on without me or not; if you do, good luck, have fun, and remember, it's just a game! If you don't, we'll run one of the shorter TFs tomorrow (maybe a Hess, my emp doesn't have the badge for some weird reason) and do the Sara Moore next week instead. Majority vote rules, and let me know what you guys decided in this thread if it comes to that, please! Thank you thank you, have a great day til I (hopefully) see you all later! -

I spent most of the weekend exemped down to help out my lower-level friends. It was a lot of fun! -
Snap wandered the base for a little while, just checking over things, until finally a flash of yellow caught the corner of her eye. Following it to it's destination, she walked into Mionas' lab, calling "Mio?"
"Yeah?" The muffled reply came from somewhere above her, and she knew he must be in his room above the lab itself-not that his room was really much of a room either; the college student had filled the lower part of his space with the lab equipment necessary for maintaining his power armor, and his living space was full of book and computers, with only a small cot, a couch, and a big-screen tv as "creature comforts".
She tilted her head back, projecting her voice towards the ceiling. "Can I come up? It's Snap."
"Wha-? Oh! Yeah, yeah, that serum you wanted. Yeah, come on up."
Popping her head up through the hole in the second-story floor, the rest of her body following shortly thereafter, Snap smiled at the youngest co-leader of the Teamsters. "How's it going? You've been...ah...busy, looks like..." She took in the disaster scene, raising one eyebrow admiringly. Clothing was strewn just about everywhere books weren't.
"I have a date tomorrow night with-"
"Ali. Right, I remember now, you won that race against her because she went to Miskatonic U's base instead of ours. Where did you decide to take her?"
Mio gave her a look that bordered on complete agony.
"You didn't decide, did you?"
He shook his head. "I don't know what she likes! And I can't ask 'Razur, I mean, sure, he wasn't scary before, but that was before I got a date with his granddaughter!"
"Great great great granddaughter," Snap corrected automatically. "Okay, I'll trade you-you give me the serum I wanted, and I'll tell you how to impress Ali."
Mio reached into a cabinet and pulled down four small vials, scrutinizing the labels before laying them out in front of Snap. "You wanted to increase your powers, right? Heal a little better, do a little more damage?"
"Right, that's the one."
"Okay, well, these are yours then. Now tell me! Please!"
Snap scooped up the vials, tucking them away in a pocket of her cargoes. "Okay, here's the thing. Ali doesn't like to sit still for longer than a few minutes, so you might want to try taking her dancing or go-kart racing or something active like that. She does like movies, so an action movie would probably be a big hit. Also, whatever you do, don't order dessert-sugar and caffeine make her impossible to control, that's why 'Razur won't let her have them. Got all that?"
Mio nodded dumbly, taking it all in.
"Oh, and head over to MiskU's base a little early-'Razur asked Asylym to make you one of these." Snap reached into her back pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a tiny dart gun, pre-loaded.
"Um...what is it?"
"It's a tranq gun, designed specifically for Ali." Snap's face was deadly serious as she stowed the tiny weapon away. "We both carry one. So do most of the others who work with Ali."
"...why?" Mio was starting to have serious doubts about his date. He'd known that she was addicted to speed-as in, miles per hour-and that she was a little unpredictable and airheaded, but he'd had no idea that she actually had a tranquilizer designed for her!
"It's a precaution...just in case she gets really badly out of hand. We haven't had to use them yet, but you should carry one, just in case. Anyhow, I have to go-still need to run by Icon and Wentworth's today. Laters!"
Before Mio could yell out "Wait!" she was gone, leaving him staring dumbly into space before forgetting why he had been trying to stop her in the first place and returning to his preparations. -

If I go into the User CP and try to change my birthdate (which somehow got screwed up in the transfer) it tells me that it's "Bad Input" and won't change it. That's more than a little annoying when the only thing I'm using is the form that the forum itself gives me-I'm not trying to change anything else BUT my birthdate. -
The next morning, Snap woke alone. Rolling over to check the time, she found that it was already nearly noon, and cursed Alaric under her breath for turning off her alarm clock. He'd only say that she needed the rest if she confronted him about it, but that made it no less annoying.
Sighing, she sat up, slowly getting ready for her day. Once she had made herself fit to be seen by the other members of their supergroup, she headed out of the small "apartment" she shared with Alaric, seeking the base kitchen and a much-needed cup of tea.
The smell of mint greeted her as soon as she entered the dining area, and she began to move faster, wondering who was home and brewing her favorite flavor of tea. As she entered the kitchen, she smiled; a comfortingly familiar form stood over the stovetop, pouring boiling water into a mug, which was set on the counter in front of her as she slid onto a stool.
"Morning, Snap." 'Razur said, crossing his arms and leaning nonchalantly against the counter.
She took a sip of the tea before answering, making a face as the hot liquid scalded her tongue. "Morning...what's the occasion?" she asked, gesturing towards the mug. "Not that I don't appreciate it," she added. "You're the only one in the Teamsters who can make this exactly the way I like it."
"Maybe if you weren't so particular about how much sugar you put in it..." 'Razur grinned. "No occasion. Hungry?"
"Not if you're cooking. What are you up to?" Snap eyeballed him suspiciously over the top of her mug before taking another sip.
"Nothing...how'd you sleep?"
Snap paused for a second, briefly remembering her nightmare, before pushing it out of her mind and answering. "Pretty well, I guess. No worse than usual."
He stared at her, jaw tensing slightly. "Liar."
"If you already knew the answer, why did you ask?"
"Same reason I always ask. You don't like me in your head. I don't like being lied to. Alaric already told me you were having nightmares again, not that he had to; I could feel your fear in Talos. I was on my way back to base when he got you to wake up."
"I'm fine, 'Razur," Snap said, staring intently into her tea. "Don't worry about it. Where have you been anyhow? We haven't seen you for, what, a week now?"
"You're not fine," he growled. "I've been training, learning something that might help you."
The diminutive healer nearly choked on her tea. "Oh?" she managed, swallowing. "What's that?"
"Dreamwalking." 'Razur studied her intently; she could feel it. Even with his ever-present sunglasses on, it was impossible for her not to know that he was watching her. She shook her head mutely, her natural reticence taking over. "What?" he asked.
"I don't..." she started, before pausing for a second and taking a deep breath. "I don't want you in my head...there are some things in there...I don't want even you to see."
"As if anything in your head could make me feel any different about you!"
"It doesn't matter." She shook her head again. "I just...let me deal with it myself, okay? It's my problem anyhow."
"No, it's not. What happens if Alaric gets dragged into your nightmares? Or Ali? You know it's possible, and while I could handle it, they might not be able to. Do you really want that to happen?"
"If one of us were psychic, then yeah, I'd say it's possible. As it is, you're the only one I'm connected that close to, and you won't get dragged in anyhow!"
"You can't guarantee that."
Snap shook her head miserably. "No. I can't."
"Then let me help you!" 'Razur growled, weary of her stubborn attitude.
She paused for a second, then looked up at him. "If my theory doesn't work out...then we'll talk. Okay?"
After a moment, he nodded. "Fine. What are your plans?"
"Nothing right now...later on, we're supposed to go help Citadel. He wants an 8-man team to help find out some stuff on the Council; I volunteered the Teamsters for the assignment."
"Well, count me in, if you've got space."
Snap grinned. "Was already counting on you, tall one."
'Razur grinned back and stood up. As he started to leave the room, he turned to her, abruptly shooting out one claw and raising her chin with it, forcing her to look him in the eyes. As he studied her intently, he saw nothing there but her absolute trust in him.
"You know I would never hurt you, Snap-not even in battle rage," he said quietly. "I'd tear myself to pieces first."
"I know," she answered calmly, without shifting her gaze. Satisfied, 'Razur turned to walk away, calling out "See you later!" over his shoulder. -

Sorry about that. I mean they will, of course...die. After all, that's not so much to ask. Now,
I think I speak for all of us when I say I understand
Why you folks might hesitate to submit to our demand
But here's an FYI:
You're all gonna die
Screaming!
We're not unreasonable-I mean, no one wants to eat your eyes... -

Can anyone tell me how to change it back?? >.<
Mod08 says it's only temporary. -
Just finished reading the TCoSR and I gotta say I LOVED it. I almost always enjoy CoX fanfiction but that's the first time a story's really sucked me in like that! Excellent work, can't wait to start on TCoSR II, but right now I need some sleep...

The first entry of Teamsters is up in the RP section...it's a collection of a bunch of short stories/story arcs our SG has been working through for the past few months. Comes after Fairy Tale and Soul Searching, and it's been lots of fun working with everyone on it.
You can find it here. -
No no, it's next week. Which is good because grocery shopping is Monday, which means energy drinks and snackage.

Hoorah, we has a team (pending me talking to Unholy tomorrow, but I already know he'll say yes, so eh...) -
(For those who read and enjoyed Fairy Tale and Soul Searching, this is the continued story of Snap Play and her adopted family, taken mostly from rp sessions with my SGmates. I can't and won't claim credit for these stories, but I would love any comments/criticisms/questions you may have to be posted here, so that I can pass them on to the appropriate parties. Thank you for reading-on behalf of the Teamsters, I hope you enjoy!)

My face was pressed to the stone, my arms and legs stretched painfully and bound. I knew I wasn't going to escape. He paced back and forth in front of me, and though I could not see his face under the hood he wore, I sensed that he was grinning, enjoying the moment, savoring my fear.
As he reached for the knife, I tensed, squeezing my eyes closed. I would not flinch, I thought, pressing down a panic attack. I would not show him that I was afraid-it would only prolong the ordeal. I waited, each second longer than the last, until the silence convinced me that he was gone, and I was alone.
As I relaxed and opened my eyes, he stepped up in front of me, raising the knife high, and as it arced down towards me a scream tore painfully from my throat...
"Snap!" Alaric said urgently, shaking her shoulder gently.
Shaking me...someone...who?
"Snap! Wake up!" He knelt on the bed beside her, lifted her slightly into his arms, shook her again.
Alaric? Sounds...scared...don't be...
"Snap!"
"Wha-?" Jerking awake, Snap stared up at Alaric, dazed. After a few seconds searching his face and reassuring herself that she was okay, she found her voice again. "What...happened?"
"You were having a nightmare again, sweetheart," Alaric said gently, settling her back on the bed and lying down beside her, pulling her close. "Want to talk about it?"
Her eyes darkened slightly, remembering, then she turned and curled up against him, closing her eyes again. "No...not really. What time is it?"
He sighed and glanced over at her clock. "Does it matter?"
"Matters to me."
"Four in the morning. Go back to sleep," he added, settling in next to her and wrapping his arm around her.
"Already am..." she mumbled, sinking back into unconsciousness.
Alaric sighed again, staring at the ceiling. It had been-what-two months since they'd rescued her from the Will? Three? Almost three...and the nightmares refused to cease. She'd had nightmares before, he knew-always, according to Blackrazur-but never this bad, and they weren't even as bad now as they had been before he had started sharing her bed. He remembered hearing her wake up screaming and paranoid, mistrustful of letting anyone but 'Razur come near her, and he grimaced.
Snap shifted slightly in her sleep as his arm involuntarily tensed around her, and he relaxed again, schooling his mind to peace. Slowly, his breathing evened out, and he slipped from meditation back into sleep. Tomorrow, he thought hazily, we can deal with it tomorrow... -
Psh, let me run my own thread, Blue!
Next Monday, from 8 pm EST not going past 11 pm EST, and then picking up on Tuesday at 8 pm EST (same as for the Q), we'll be running the Sara Moore TF. It's for levels 40-50 (we'll be running it at 50 if we can get 4 mentors in on it), 15 missions long, and worth 63 merits. We need 8 people to start it, and I'm hoping to get 8 like last week that'll stay the whole time, so here we go!
1.) Snap Play, 50 emp/rad Defender
2.) (reserved for Unholy)
3.) Blazing Blue
4.) Delrune
5.) WRider
6.)
7.)
8.) -
The Q is from 40-44 (as stated in the post I made last week asking people to sign up) so it doesn't matter if you're not 44 as long as you're 40...lol.
Okay, Blue, if you're not there by a few minutes after (I usually give 15 for latecomers anyhow) we'll run without you this week. -
