Quote:When I did it, the clones had powers that I never even picked, and even had access to powers I was EX'd from.. so it's definitely not an exact copy.Has anyone confirmed that this is a direct copy of your character with enhancements or does the server look at your powersets and costumes and create a character that looks like you, but is just as powerful as you making a clone in the MA system? Meaning a fully IOd character would make short work of these clones.

My Villain, Robin Rogue, enters the 600 club today with the new Exploration badges. She still has a couple epics to do and she only started the day jobs recently, so she has some more catching up to do. Up to 617 for now.
Robin Rogue on Badge-Hunter.com -
Example:
START > RUN
"C:\Program Files\CohTest\costumes"
Right click the costume you want to move (or Select All) and click Copy.
START > RUN
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\costumes"
Paste
Substitute in your own CoH directory if different than above. -
Master-Blade was at 687 before i17 and joined the 700 club last night just shortly before joining the 750 club as well. He's currently at 758 (766 if you include his 1-8 Times the Victor).

Teal Tabby joined today with 726 badges from the new explorations and without running the new arcs yet.

Quote:We planned to do it on test, but never got enough people interested and together at the same time. We figured we'll just try it once it went live.Have there been people that have tried to get the badge since i17 came out? Just curious. >.>
I do plan to try it soon and I'll post about it... but for all we know the requirements could be different than the others. Because of the usage of EoE on Hami, they could have been mean and made "no inspirations" reuired... but it's still speculation at this point. We wont know until we try. -
Quote:There are more than half a dozen sounds looping that make up the sound of that portal, and Train_Loop is actually one of them.I'm getting it on pretty much every zone load, whether through teleporter or train or running through a tunnel. But I thought it sounded like a snippet of the Portal Corps machinery.
But if that's what it is, then I probably would not hear it. I silenced those sounds a long time ago. lol -
I have never used that program, and I don't know of any other updated programs, but creating a SpeedOnDemand bind is actually quite simple.
Examples...
Running (SS only while running):
/bind W "+forward$$powexecname Super Speed"
/bind S "+backward$$powexecname Super Speed"
Flying (Fly while moving, Hover while not moving):
/bind W "+forward$$powexecname Hover$$powexecname Fly"
/bind S "+backward$$powexecname Hover$$powexecname Fly"
Note:
I personally don't include the strafe or turning keys because it would toggle off the speed if you are pressing both a forward and turning key at the same time... which defeats the purpose.
On a side note, the general binds for the game have not really changed in all this time, so the guides you are finding should still work.
Also:
Another cool thing that came with i17 is the "showbind" command. If you have a SpeedOnDemand or other bind on one character, but you don't remember how you programmed it, you can do this:
/showbind W
That will display in system chat:
Key W binded to: +forward$$powexecname Hover$$powexecname Fly
Which will allow you to copy the bind and put it on your other character without having to do a /bindsavefile and search the file. -
Quote:I think it's actually still there, but it's invisible for some reason. Not sure if this is a good place to start - but the Cutscene Captions option when configuring your chat tabs is now gone ? Is it "automatically" always on ? Undocumented fix ?
I opened the tab that had it before, an it shows a blank entry in the middle of the list on the left. I then opened a tab that didn't have it, and there was a blank entry in the middle of that list on the right as well. It's located directly below Broadcast, but has no text.
You can select it, and move it from one side to the other. Whether or not it still works... I am not sure. -
Quote:I don't hate the new numbers. You're the first person I've seen in either Beta or Live who doesn't really HATE the enhancement screen font. I'd say you're rather outnumbered there.
I don't like them either though.
It's just another one of those changes I'd get used to over time. When I first switched to a widescreen a few years ago, it was annoying seeing the enhancements squished and stretched into an oval shape... but now I got SO used to it that now the new screen looks like eggs to me, even though they are actually circles again. lol -
I had this happen again while simply moving to another zone. It isn't happeneing to me every time, but I seem to get different sounds, or different parts of the same sound track every now and then when logging in or zoning.

Quote:Nice job on finishing up the new ones so quickly! Now we'll just have to try out that MoLGTF tomorrow. hahaI'm at 768, without the 1-9 times the Victor.

Yeah.. We ran the Katie the other day for the extra badges just for kicks. It was something extra to do while we were waiting for i17 to hit. Even before i17, Master-Blade was capped at 695 with the extras. He was really only at 687/700. That's what I get for only being a 45 month Vet. lol
I'm behind by a couple years of Veterans, and since I was including a screenshot, I figured I should explain why it's higher than my Badge-Hunter profile shows. lol
And speaking of that, I forgot to even link my profile above, so I'll edit it in:

After the first day of i17 play, Master-Blade is up to 766! I still have the last part of the new Positron to go.
Master-Blade on Badge-Hunter.com
(In all fairness, I still have 1-8 Times the Victor, so Badgehunter-wise I'm really only at 758. This character will cap at 767-8=759 with the current available badges and my current Veteran Status of 45 Months) -
Well, there is a badge for it, so we might as well give it a thread.
i17 comes with many new badges, and another milestone:
Adventurer Badge
Good luck to everybody! -
Yeah that was a tough one. First time I ran it on my Dark/Kin Corr.. my ToHit went negative so fast, recharge and damage were floored. I had no speed to even run away... TOAST!
An inventory full of purples went a long way. "You can't debuff me if they can't hit me!" lol
I wish anybody luck when going for this one, especially if they are running it solo. It might be helpful to take the advice of the mission and bring some friends along. haha
And Gratz! for getting that one out of the way early. -
Quote:Mmmm, BACON!I found the existance of the badge by communing with the bacon gods... >.>
Eating that is worth 20 Reward Merits and the "Heart Attack on a Plate" Accolade badge! -
I believe the old screens were actually an enlarged 640x1024. Your resolution is still what I meant by "higher".
Either way, I do agree that it's harder to read them than it was before.
A nice QoL feature for that screen would have been to use an enlarged mouseover similar to how the badges work on the /info_self window. That would be cool. -
Quote:I'm not sure which version I was running before, but you are right. When I logged on today, HeroStats was not even aware I was logged in.Minor FYI: it looks like Herostats 5.0.0.0 is not able to validate any of the new badges or badges taht existed prior to ish 17. Anyone else experiencing this?
I clicked the "Help>Check for Updates" and upgraded to 5.1.0.0, and now everything is working fine again. I'm not sure which site you use to track your badges, but the new version is updating Badge-Hunter correctly for me now. -
The old enhancement screen (and login screen) was a low resolution fixed layout that was simply expanded to fit your screen. After a few years of many people using Wide-screen and higher resolutions, they finally decided to make those screens use the resolution you are actually using instead of a squished/stretched enhancement screen.
Because of this, things will certainly look smaller for people using higher resolutions. -
I just closed my client and logged in again. A split-second before the world view opened, I did hear a bit of a rumble. It was so quick it's hard to say if it was a train noise, but it definitely doesn't seem intentional. I put my character in a far corner of Atlas before logging this time to make sure no other players were immediately nearby.
-
When I logged in this evening, it sounded like somebody was dropping about 100 Ouro portals in about half a second. My character was in Atlas PArk and no Ouro Portal in sight.
I have not relogged yet to see if it does it again. -
The setting you are referring to is obsolete. The -renderthread command that enables use of another core has been enabled by default for some time now.
On a side note, CoH can use 4 cores, but only if you have 2 clients open and running at the same time. haha */joke* -
Quote:Not for nothing, but he has lots of badges that are not even available to us in the game at all. Sure, we know the badge is there, but it doesn't even mean it's enabled in the game (yet) until somebody actually earns it. That's the only "legit" way to find a new badge. What? "Cat finally out of the bag?" Because I found it on test, legit rather than how you all did? Grow up. If it wasn't meant to be seen, then it wouldn't have been. Way too much self-righteousness going on in this thread, and not by me.
As for the "cat out of the bag", I don't think anybody was trying to be self-righteous or anything. It's just that we were discussing the probability of that badge in the i17 thread just last week because War Witch had hinted about the players not yet finding all the new stuff, and mentioned RWZ without actually saying what it was... so your screenshot is basically the "cat out of the bag". Don't take it personally. -
Quote:In Kheldarn's defense, we did have a thread about it a while back, and MANY people reported instability while trying to use those binds or macros (myself included). I'm very good with binds and have come up with many extra useful tricks myself, but this one just didn't work for me. As soon as I pressed it, the game would completely lock.Odd, all my characters use this bind:
Quote:CTRL+X "buy_coh$$dialog_yes"
We could never figure out what caused it, or if there were any patterns from one person to the next. People on low and very high end systems crashed while using it, just as people on both ends of the spectrum have no trouble with it.
In short, it might be worth a shot to try, but people shouldn't expect it to be 100%.
