  1. YES! my brother was able to play for over 2hrs today with not even a hint of lag, let alone locking up. I can't adjust the voltage on the memory for some reason, but it's default is 1.9V so I guess it's ok. Thanks for all the help everybody, you're the best!

Yes, I updated those also. Unfortunately XFX still hasn't replied, probably due to the weekend/holiday. Hopefully I'll get something back soon, so I don't have to spend any more money.
  3. Temps are fine, always under 45C when playing (Speed Fan), but it crashes even when It's not being used. I'll come back after watching TV or something and I'll have an error report "Windows has recovered from a serious error" or It will just be frozen on the screen saver.
  4. 1100W Just bought it a few months ago. It was tested when I took it into Tiger Direct/ Comp USA and it was working just fine. I sent a support ticket to XFX Support, but it seems they don't work weekends, and with Monday being Labor Day, I probably won't get a response until Tuesday at the earliest.
  5. Tried the defrag and nothing changed. I'm going to call XFX support and see what they say. If all else fails, i'm just gonna get another MoBo, and return the bad one in the new box
  6. I have not done a disc clean or defrag. I figured since I bought the HDD yesterday it should be ok, and the same thing happens on safe mode also. I have also been getting BSOD while updating windows, loading programs and just using the PC in general. They are usually: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the new while trying to check this forum was: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXEMPTION

  8. OK, so I got a new HDD yesterday and upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate. Installed all the updates, loaded Avast instead of Norton, loaded the game and just as I finished setting up the in-game settings it froze again. I'll post the new info in a min, gotta DL the programs again.
  9. Well well well, I have DL'd and run Seatools on my HDD and it Failed every single test! SMART: Fail SHORT DST: Fail LONG DST: Fail SHORT GENERIC: Fail LONG GENERIC: Fail. This is the same drive I used when I had this problem before and it started working. Also Un-installed Nvidia Network Access Manager and I was on the game long enough to click on menu/options and it froze before I could even adjust my settings! Now I'm gonna have to get a new HDD, and install EVERYTHING, and go thru all the windows updates AGAIN! uuuugh. thanks for the help everybody, I'll get a new HDD this weekend, load everything up and let you know if it worked!
  10. Well since I re-installed the OS and whatnot, I might as well update the info that was requested:

    Tech Power-Up
  11. I'm not srue if this is what you're looking for but I am using NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controllers, my PSU is an Apevia 1100W. Disabled the sound in BIOS and I was able to play for 10min before it froze up. (about 9min longer than the last two times)
  12. I already went to the store and bought new memory, same thing happened. So....I already wiped the HD and re-installed the OS (XP Pro). I have updated all drivers for the Mobo, Vid Card, etc. I have only loaded Norton, Malwarebytes, Firefox and City of Heroes. same problem.....
  13. Yes, I have updated everything, pretty much every single driver on the whole system while I was working with Tech Support from CoH. I don't know why it started working when I switched memory slots, which really sux since it has decided to come back. System restore to the point where everything was working fine yielded no results, I guess I'm gonna try to re-install the OS and start from scratch. If it still doesn't work, then it must be my Mobo right?
  14. I've run memtest86 and it passed just fine, I also tried updating the sound driver but then I got no sound, so I rolled it back and it was fine. It also freezes on Bioshock 2, Crysis, and just browsing the web.

I have downloaded and installed the newest driver last night. No help, I played 5min before it crashed again. I even let driver checker find what drivers were out of date, and manually downloaded and installed them, no help there either. The only thing I can think of is re-installing the OS, and if that doesn't work I'm gonna have to swap out the Mobo. Hopefully somebody here can find whatever it is I'm missing tho.
  16. Hi, I've been playing CoX for over 5yrs now and I've recently built a new PC for Going Rogue. When I first started playing on my new machine my game kept crashing randomly, after a few weeks with tech support everything finally seemed to be working after I switched my memory from DIMM slot 1 to DIMM slot 4. I've been able to play perfectly fine for about 2-3 months until it suddenly came back. I have taken my PC to various computer shops to have it looked at, and nobody can find anything wrong. One of them (Tiger Direct/ Comp USA) tested it while it crashed and were still baffled. CoX tech support did not find anything wrong either. Like I said, it just started working when I switched memory slots. Now, it has come back, I thought I had a virus but AVG/ Malwarebytes/ Norton/ and Avast find nothing. Is anybody having the same or similar issue? ANY help would be appreciated. Oh, Firefox is also randomly crashing on me too. All my drivers are updated (Driver Checker) and all my hardware has passed all available tests.
