  1. Hmmm, what about giving them a activatable Innate ability like the Dominators have that, when turned on, breaks the Blaster free from a mezz and gives it protection (sort of like a built in rechargable Escape)

    Maybe, but when you combine siphon power, siphon speed and repel with Transfusion, you should be doing alright with kinetics. It would be a difficult power to have as a "defensive" set to pair with melee... but having the choice would still be nice.

    Like Kinetics, Radiation Emission would be very difficult (as it would take a while before you actually got any control powers). That said, by level 6 you would have Radiation Infection and Enervating Field. Radiation Infection specifically would work sort of like a reverse defense.

    Time Manipulation, I would argue, would be an excellent semi control power. Of all of them, Time is the most likely candidate to sit with control powers as a primary to melee oriented powers. Especially once you get Time's Juncture and Distortion Field

    Dark Miasma would, in many ways, work like Radiation Emission, requiring -ACC powers to provide any assistance.



    The thing is, these 4 might not be "top of the line" powers, but I am sure that there would be lots of people who would like to try combinations with some of these powers. They would be difficult characters, yes... but isn't it sort of the point?

    That's true. Simply expanding Controllers/Dominators into less elemental areas would help immensely too.


    I guess that was partially what I was going for.


    Dominators especially need expanding (even if a new archetype is not made, rolling the powers I posted into the Dominator archetype would make for a lot of new/fun choices)

    Well, there are about 4 debuff sets in there: Time, Radiant, Kinetics, and Miasma... but I made sure to look at the powers to make sure that they still achieved a similar "near lockdown" effect like a controller.

    I don't really guess it's better than a dominator (not trying to make an archetype better than what's out there, just different).

    The thing is, it seems dominator powers (especially secondaries) are pretty limited. I'd be quite happy if the dominator was just expanded.



    But it's really just the concept of control or debuff combined with melee (instead of it being melee/defense most of the time)


    though I personally think that there are only a few support powers that could stand up to being paired with a melee set.

    I've noticed that there is one particular mix of sets (well two actually but I doubt the second wuld be viable). I would really like to see a Control/Melee set.


    Dominators do it to some degree but their choices are somewhat limited (and they're super squishy)

    what do you think? I'd really like to see some combos like Time/Katana (in fact, i'd delete a toon right now to make one)
