Quote:Fantastic environment? I'll never forget my last trip to Austin...100+ degree weather plus humidity! Now, once they come and experience our fantastic environment and unbeatable hospitality, then they may realize their error.
But you're on the nose for Texas hospitality! Such a friendly and welcoming bunch of people that live in those parts.
P.S. You forgot to mention that no one can do BBQ like Texans! Texas BBQ...*drool*... -
Quote:I hope so! My first reaction was "Awwww, someone doesn't want me at HeroCon and is happy I'm not going to be there!" Though in light of my current circumstances, I completely recognize that much of that reaction is a result of being overly sensitive/emotional and perhaps even a little paranoid!Perhaps it was the mention of tiramisu. Or to cheer you up.

Quote:What a strange post to receive positive rep for...RG,
Please disregard any input from me in the earlier thread. After an "eventful" couple days, it looks very unlikely Somber or I will be able to attend. Hope everyone has a fantastic time at HeroCon this year and someone please indulge in some Tiramisu for me! -

Quote:Yeah, I imagine that would put a damper on things, though they got the guy who writes pvponline sick and he seems to be in fairly good humor about it.Quote:Wil Wheaton has been sick as well, as have members of Jonathan Coulton's band.
What? I follow them on Twitter. I'm not a stalker or anything. >.>
I think there were several bugs floating around at the Con...Somber came down with a mild lower respiratory deal, but nothing major. Despite the *really* long drive, I'm really relieved to not have been on a plane or train after seeing how many flights/train routes had confirmed cases.
EDIT: Oh damn...per Twitter, it appears that Positron has been officially diagnosed with H1N1. Hope he and any other devs who also came down with it get well soon! -

Quote:FYI, the convention center has given PAX the okay to sell 1K more day passes...keep an eye out on their twitter feed for details.I'm going to try and show up for the Meet and Greet. Like many, I figured on buying a Pax ticket on Saturday and got a rude awakening. Doh!

Quote:*constructs a Kat themed shrine with many offerings of coffee*Doesn't Kat live in that part of the country... maybe you can coax her out of her blade-encrusted lair with an offering of coffee?
Even if that doesn't lure her out, hopefully it will appease her enough not to stab me for making the appropriate offerings while visiting her territory... >.> -
My D&D GM recently moved up to Seattle and sweet talked Somber and I into driving up for a visit and for a couple days of PAXy goodness. We're heading out for the long drive up to Seattle later this afternoon and I was curious if anyone from Justice will be in attendance at PAX this year. If any Justicites will be there and would like to meet up, give me a holla!

Quote:Waitasec...all of that interaction was IN REAL LIFE?? I just thought they changed the graphics in the game for awhile! Why didn't anyone tell me I had accidently wandered into reality?!?Absolutely this!
I've made a lot of friends in game and have been lucky enough to meet quite a few of them in person. I used to have a monthly lunch with some of the local players in Austin, but my new job took me to the other part of town and I can't make it to lunches anymore. I've traveled to different states and even to Canada to meet other players or attend events and it's been a lot of fun.
The game hasn't made me more or less social, but it's given me an opportunity to make friends from all over and get to know some exceptional people I wouldn't have run into otherwise.
That whole stereotype of gamers living in mom's basement and never interacting with people outside of the computer based environment has got to go. -

Quote:The only thing that they did was remove the minimum level required to enter the hazard zones...that's it. Now those zones act like the regular zones, you can enter them at any level. So in your example, your level 1 character can enter Perez Park at level 1...if they're solo and not sidekicked, they'll remain at level 1 and will be seeing a lot of purple. One thing I noticed about the new "sidekick" system is that the level caps have been removed for the hazard zones. I'm sure this question has been asked, but I'm feeling lazy right now.....what if you're solo? Does it automatically bump you up to the minimum level? For instance: New character, level 1. If I go to PP, does it automatically put me at level 7 (or whatever the minimum level is)?
