Alrighty, but people riding in my car should be forewarned that it's been a month and a half since I've been awake that early, much less out of the house at that time.

    One word...COFFEE!

P.S. Full schedule has been posted. The first of several trivia qualifiers (for those who want to partake) is at 9:15am and the welcome address starts at 10am. I highly urge those going to breakfast to take care of your registration Friday evening if at all possible.

Wait, the first post on the first page is hard for you to find?? You know, you can always click on the [<<First] button on the lower right hand corner of the thread if you're having trouble finding it.

Bah, what the heck, sign me up Team Snark! Should make for some great photos!

(guess I should go run that AE arc... )
  7. Yay! Have a safe trip and see you Friday!!

P.S. This is so much cooler now that you can directly post the pictures on the boards!

You know you've been playing COH too much if you read the above and your first thought is wondering why RG's giving PlasmaWarrior in Mountain View at 9 in the morning.

P.S. Das right, the Mean Old Cat Lady is truly villainous!! Rawr!
  10. I'll be staying in some condo in Sacto the night before and catching my 2-hour drive about noon-ish on Friday.

I wholeheartedly concur! But if you are able to come, you be sure to let me know if there's anything I can do to help make things easier for ya!

To clarify, I remember the Live Mission event taking up a significant part of the day. And while I had a fantastic time with my team, and it was a lot of fun, I didn't get to spend time with anyone on any of the other teams while it was going on. But, if most people are going to be doing this event, I don't want to be left sitting by myself at the bar or something while it's going on.
I know how you feel Arwen. It was a lot of fun...but given the high-speed nature of the event, it was very difficult to M&G with anyone on the team much less anyone on any of the other teams. It's one of the reasons I hesitate participating in the games night on Friday...I fear more attention will be on the game itself rather than meetin' and greetin' folks (and again, you don't get to interact much with people at the other game tables).

I heard Somber and trem had an awesome time kickin' back at the bar watching the mad men and women run around during the live mission event last year and I'm kinda tempted to join them this year. Though I have to admit that I'm being drawn like a moth to the flame to Missy's team because of the name.

    Video Card Help

Arwen, I know on the COH tech boards that it's helpful to the tech gurus to provide the following information when asking for hardware recommendations: system specs (in this case, power supply would be very helpful), budget (what price range are you comfortable paying) and expectations (what are the most intense programs you're going to run with system).

The graphics card performance charts on Tom's Hardware are a great resource for helping you make your decision. Keep in mind that the newer high-end cards are fantastic cards, but may be a bit overkill and you're not going to get a lot of bang for your buck if COH is the most intense thing you're going to run with your system.

I purchased a NVidia 9800GTX with my system when I bought through CyberpowerPC last year and COH runs beautifully on it. If you're like me and COH is the most intense thing you're going to be running, it's a good solid card that will run the game well. And the prices for the card have dropped significantly and quite reasonablly priced (the EVGA version on NewEgg is running about $130ish).
  18. Oh Joe, I'm so sorry to hear! I hope that his final days will be as comfortable and painless as possible. I've always enjoyed your stories with Axel (dba Rommel) and know he will be sorely missed.

The stroller's front wheel drifts toward the track, and the stroller rolls toward the edge, flipping over as it hits the tracks. The mother spots it just before it pitches over the side, and lunges forward - too late.

The train pulls into the station, and the mother clutches her face in apparent panic and devastation. As the train stops, onlookers rush forward. The whole incident took about seven seconds.

The train pushed the stroller about 130 feet (40 meters) along the tracks before it stopped, but it did not go under the train.

The baby, who was strapped into the stroller, received only a bump on the head.

I saw the footage on HuffPo earlier today. That's one very, very lucky baby!

This may also help me out with my transportation issue. Maybe you can help out this fellow California resident by giving me a ride, since you said you have room. I should be in my apartment in San Jose at that time, so you shouldn't have to go out of your way to pick me up, either! It should be easier for someone who knows their way around the area to pick me up, after all.
I do not think I will be reprising my role as the Crazy Old Cat Lady this year. That mask was hot as Hades, blocked out all of my peripheral vision and gave me a tad bit of claustrophobia. Though if Goober is coming as Gato Man, I may be persuaded to cart it along for a quick photo op.

I'm not terribly familiar with San Jose, but if you're in need of transportation, shoot me a PM and we'll hash out the details.

This just in...no need for teh missing! I've been extremely bored over the vast amounts of nothingness to do over the past month and am in serious need for something positive to take my mind off things. Somber and I are in desperate to get out of Sactown for a couple days and with the extremely tight job market, it appears that there will be no interviews next week that will conflict with the con...so we've decided to take the plunge and sign-up for HeroCon after all.

So RG, please disregard my earlier disregard and please add two more to the list!

Also, we'll be driving from Sac and can offer carpooling for 2-3 people (depending on how cozy folks can get).
  22. Mmmmmm....coffee... *drool*

P.S. Sold! Please add Somber and I to this shin-dig as well. As mentioned in the Buca thread, we can offer carpooling for 2-3 people (depending on how cozy folks can get).
  23. I just relayed the following information with those who have voiced their concerns on the Justice boards and felt everyone here would want to know as well...

      • Two in North America and two in Europe...four total.
    • The recent shift brought our maintenance windows from four to two windows.
We've been monitoring the reactions from our Oceanic and EU players, and have decided to to move to only one "Global" maintenance window per week beginning Thursday, October 22nd.
    • Please note that we are doing this as a test / trial, and the new single-global-maintenance-window-a-week schedule is going to be heavily monitored and evaluated.
If we find that we need to go back to a two-global-maintenance-windows-a-week schedule, we will do so.

This will not affect players located in North America, and will have a greater impact on Oceanic and European players.
