I have a Traps/Dual Pistol defender that can handle +2x8 without too much difficulty depending on what im fighting. I generally prefer +0 or +1 just for speed sake.

The only thing I can brag about currently is the first day Dr.Kahn ran Alpha strike targets, a team I was on of 3 scrappers, a tank, and a blaster dropped Kahn with ony pure damage and no buffs/debuffs. Took awhile, but we pulled it off.

Like most have said already, its what you intend for your character to do that makes it uber. I know recently ive been working on my Elect/Fire/Fire scrapper that, with a little help on defense from IO sets, I can dominate most of everything in the game. Farming or pure massive damage, this toon has the ability to outdo many blasters, but you will suffer until higher levels and you buy those IO sets to help with defense.

I have attempted to use the drones to take the agro first, even acid mortar and poison in different orders, but none of it will help against a aoe barrage or cones when my FFG decides to daydream and stare at the clouds. Most I can do is just drop the seekers, rush in and immediately drop FFG and start my poison traps, etc. In the end though it defeats the point of FFG having a 4 min duration.
At least we all agree though that the FFG is flawed and not acting as originally intended. -
Well, its good to see that im not the only one feeling the pain...
I hit 50 finally but ive now developed the tactic of resummoning it in the middle of a group im about to advance on to make sure I dont lose the bonuses before taking agro. Kinda silly and completely against the way the power works. Maybe the devs could take a look at this. Personally, id rather someone just duct tape the thing to my back and be done with it. -
Ive been working on my Traps/Dual pistol defender and am close to hitting 50. I wanted to see if anyone else noticed that your force field tends to be slow keeping up with you or recognizing that you have moved. Sometimes it takes up to 5 seconds before it moves to catch up to you. Im moving around with hover at max flight for a defender at 97% enhancement. When im laying traps and supporting my local tank/brute, the last thing I want is my defense to drop right before I move in to help. It has gotten me killed consistantly dropping from 35% defense to 9%. Anyone else notice this problem?
