I'd stick a Stealth IO into Sprint rather than start slowing down the travel powers. That way you'd only need to turn it on once every 120secs for "perma invis".
Combat Jumping: If you're not getting a LOTG+ Recharge in this, then grab a Karma "Knockback Protection" IO for that default slot if at all possible. Reasoning for this is that when you get toggle dropped you'll still have a reasonable degree of mobility instead of getting bounced all over the place.
Looks fairly solid apart from that... -
It hurts my eyes, seriously... I need to highlight the text to even be able to read it.
Try using the Dark blue (Navy) colour for posting builds!
That aside, the power picks are... Dwarf is slotted decently, although I'd probably try and stick a second Accuracy in taunt. Nova Form is OK, though Scatter and Detonation could do with recharges. Human form is very weak though even as a "buffer"- weak attacks, no Leadership pool, unslotted allied heal...
Why Stealth and Grant Invis? You already get Quantum Flight which is Phase + Stealth and combined with a Stealth IO in sprint will give you full invisibility? Quantum Flight + Conserve Energy is a far, far better "Oh Smeg!" button than 'Light Form' if you're mainly Dwarf/Nova since it activates instantly (unlike 'Phase Shift') and you can turn it off to switch forms (unlike 'Light Form').
If you're only using Human form to "buff" the other two forms, then you'll want Hasten and Conserve Energy up ASAP. They'll both need 3 Recharges. Photon Seekers could be good too since they carry over between forms... and "Solar Flare" is another good choice since it synergises so well with Dwarf's Flare (as does Pulsar).
If it were me, I'd take the Endmod slots out of Dwarf and Nova Bolt, and try to at least get Radiant Strike and Incandescent Strike slotted up. Otherwise Light form will be completely useless to you because while you'll become nearly invincible for 180secs, you won't be killing anything. But if that was the case I'd also advise working Stamina into the build and it'd end up turning your Human form into a fighter... (I rate Human form damage higher than Nova form damage after level 30ish though... especially when you're teaming)
If I was to try to build a similar Triformer post-i9, this is probably something like I'd aim for:

Yeah well, when you have 3 EM Stalkers trying to kill you at once you might change your mind between Revive or MoG.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're that worried about EM Stalkers, just take Superjump, bind "++up" and use your movement keys.
Take it from an EM stalker... Superjump + Reconstruction will work for anything an EM can throw at you short of a patron webnade. And for the webnades? If you're a PvP melee toon then you'll also have Superspeed...
One unbuffed EM stalker can reliably 2-shot a non-Dull-Pained Regen if that Regen is standing still. If the Stalker has some yellows or the FoN accolade (or a few applications of "Forge"...) then MoG is not going to help the Regen in the slightest... if a Stalker can hit through PFF, they'll certainly be able to hit through MoG...
If it's PvP you're set on, grab resilience instead and slot the Aegis unique in there. Now 'integration' will last considerably longer under mez fire (especially EM stuns) from anything except Doms in "Domination".
For PvE I'd take revive over MoG every time. The 38+ game hero-side simply has too many enemy groups that can cut right through MoG like it wasn't even there. -
Nah... One Shivan + Light form = no deaths, 2 dead cysts and a faceplanted EB...
They're not bad at all providing you take them carefully, and SOLO!! -
[ QUOTE ]
I would assume that the unbound nictus do Nictus Damage, hence the issue with lots really putting the hurt on.
[/ QUOTE ]
You'd assume wrong... They do Negative damage, plus a -slow and -recharge debuff. No "Nictus Damage".
The major "hurt" with multiple swarms of them is the insane amounts of stacked -slow and -recharge. With a one-person spawn of Unbound Nictus, running hasten will easily overcome their recharge debuff.
The other thing is that the Cyst itself blows up when you kill it, with enough force (Fire + Smashing damage) to kill anything short of a Tank or a Dull Pained Scrapper. The Unbound Nictus are also hurt by the explosion. Since the (still fairly recent) introduction of the "one shot code", Cysts have become considerably less deadly.
I remember soloing two Cysts plus a +2 Elite Boss, all at the same time on my PB. The last few missions of the final Kheldian story arc each contain more than 2 Cysts- the very last mission holds 6 of them + an EB!! -
There was something along the lines of that written in one of the Kheldian AT descriptions. As far as I know it was referring to the Kheldian level one defensive ability which gives minor resistances to Energy/Negative.
Voids and Quantums do added "Nictus Damage" on Kheldians, which effectively bypasses resistances completely. The Boss Novas/Dwarfs and Cysts do Energy/Negative damage, which you have hefty resist to when in Dwarf form. A Kheldian can usually colo Cysts fairly easily at higher levels, the only real danger comes from having too many teammates nearby (since the Cyst generates a certain number of "unbound nictus" pets for every toon nearby- too many toons nearby and their numbers get overwhelming!!).
Boss "Novas" can be nasty for teams to deal with as well due to their very-high-damage Cone/AoE. If the tanker is decent, they can be pointed away from the squishier toons and then taken care of like any other mob. -
It's true, I had a "discussion" over [Revive] versus [Resilience + Wakey] in another thread a while back...
The screenshot in that linked post is gone I'm afraid (old ISP) but it showed my level 50 kat/regen scrapper with an "Awaken" icon in his top-right buff icon display along with the word "Stunned". This happened sometime after i7 hit, since in i6 there was absolutely no stun after using a wakey. Revive has been stun-free from at least i6 since that's when I tested it for the first time (initially my build did not include resilience). -
[ QUOTE ]
Without Resilience giving you the stun resist to make Revive combat friendly
[/ QUOTE ]
Revive has been stun-free for many, many issues now.
All "Resilience" does for a regen currently is provide Stun resists (good versus EMs in PvP and not much else) and a place to stick the Aegis Mez resist unique IO. It used to be that Resilience COMPLETELY cut out the stun caused by an awaken after level 35ish, but this is no longer the case. Currently at level 50 there is about 1-2 seconds of stun after using an awaken, much shorter than usual, but enough to justify taking Revive rather than Resilience (since Revive rezzes you unstunned, with 100% HP and 50% endurance base...) -
[ QUOTE ]
Revive, revive, a thousand times revive
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT
Revive, then Resilience, then Acrobatics, then Flurry, then Jump Kick, then Challenge, THEN MoG.
Yes, it's a *bit* like Unstoppable. Except instead of +resistance it gives +defence and +resists then sets you at 25% HP and prevents all healing/regeneration. If you are absolutely certain that you're not going to take psionic damage, toxic damage, untyped or falling damage in the next 3 minutes, and you're not fighting anything with high accuracy or defence debuffs, then using it could concievably be beneficial. Unfortunately 99.9% of the time using "Instant Healing + Dull Pain" is considerably more effective.
In PvP, using MoG will get you killed against most heroes and a considerable number of villains... its only real PvP use is for repel protection. In PvP Revive is only useful during Supergroup Base raids (practically non-existant).
Revive is pretty funky in PvE though, and it's just SUCH a classic "regen" power... just watch out if you use it in the middle of a tough mob since there's no "invunerable" period like the Fire and /DA rezzes get!! -
[ QUOTE ]
WOW! And there was me fishing - Flame on!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Bah... What was I saying about the Scots "getting" our sense of Humour....? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
P.S. I hope you spelled customs wrong...lets not get into the way the Scots dress, please
[/ QUOTE ]
This Scot generally wears jeans and a t-shirt and would never wear a skirt... sorry, kilt. I know others who do things differently, but hell, what's an individual in the way of blind racial stereotyping, eh?
[/ QUOTE ]
The individual? I thought they were done away with years ago.
As part of a blind, racial sterotype then by all rights us Northern Irish hate pretty much everybody, especially the English, the Irish and ourselves... we're basically English Soccer Hooliganism combined with the Southern Irish "drinking culture", a short temper and a love of high explosives. We'd bomb you as soon as look at you, or at least put a bullet through your kneecaps.
The reality is that the average Northern Irish person when asked WOULD probably list the English as number #1 on their hate list (but mostly because they hate the stupid figurehead monarchy and the poncy southeast England accents, not because of ol' King Billy), closely followed by the Americans (for obvious reasons, they're all self-righteous, obese, stupid warmongers aren't they?) and the French (does anybody NOT slightly hate the French? They've lost every war they've ever fought in and still manage to get laid more than the rest of us...) The Irish (Disclaimer: those who actually LIVE in the South) are almost universally loved by both Northern Irish cultures, and the Scots are practically thought of as Brothers since they "get" our sense of humour so well.
Now SHUT UP AND EMBRACE YOUR FREEDOM DAMMIT!! -
Big GRATS to Hammerfall and Shadowwitch on hitting 50!!
(on Stalker "Miss Lethal" and Defender "Electrodude" respectively)
Is Hammer's first Villain 50 too, so extra 'Grats!' are in order... -

Hate Cloak of Fear on my Scrapper, conflicts with the damage auras.
Now stacked disorients from Gloom and SR on the other hand.... -
Now THAT's harsh, no matter how many smilies (s)he's thrown at you over the years....
-
Aye, I've commented on the Training Room thread too. It's a real shame about the event... one of the downfalls of having only the one "cross-server server" is that there's not much you can do when it falls over.
I'm a techie myself, so I know that unexpected problems can occur... but I'd have expected after two weeks of this for there to be some kind of contingency plan in place since most player events occur over the weekend.
(Well if you want that extra level today rather than trying for a Defiant-based TF, let me know and I can show you just what that Spines/Dark of mine is like for Power Levelling...)
-
Oh, if you guys want to do a different TF or something on Defiant instead this morning then give me a shout. Would likely have to be one under level 40 if Shannon's joining us, but it'd be a shame to go a full two weeks trying to organise something without ANYTHING to show for it...
I'd be up for pretty much any TF, including Positron or that dreaded sewer one... -
BAD SERVER!! NO COOKIE!!!!
Was working fine yesterday evening too. I know it was because I logged in to check my character was still there from last week and get him a full set of Warburg nukes... It made me download a patch but let me in.
/em sigh. That's two weeks in a row now that I've had to get up early...
I'll be on Defiant villains on @Maelwys if by some Miracle it recovers... -
[ QUOTE ]
Bad news is that I just tried to get into the Test Server and I wasn't allowed, DB error again
[/ QUOTE ]
OK, own up- who cast Fireball on the Training Room box?
I think it's finally time to hold a funeral for the little fellah... -
Assuming you want my Spines/DA; if the worst comes to the worst then I'll still have a 50 Human/Dwarfie Peacebringer, a 50 INV/SS Tanker and my original 50 Katana/Regen Scrapper available on my second account.
I really hate dual-boxing in TFs (since I always end up trying to play BOTH toons effectively at the same time!) but I would at least be able to get us started. An 8th Scrapper would be vastly preferable though.
My 50 Spines/DA Scrapper's name is "Nightdagger" by the way!!
I'll try and get him online tonight to farm some Warburg nukes, should already have a full set of Shivans. -
If the power is a Toggle, and auto or a "Psuedopet" (like Tar Patch or Liquefy) then the Boost will last for the duration of Power Build Up. If the power is a straight, long-duration buff like FF's allied shields then the buff will last for the duration of that power.
So Dispersion Bubble gets boosted for about 10 seconds (the duration of Power Build Up), but the two allied bubbles would get boosted for their entire 240 second duration.
Amongst other things it'll affect Defence, and Tohit Buffs. So Maneuvers and Tactics would be affected. It works very, very well when combined with "Vengence". -
Good stuff! Sounds like you guys are pretty much set then, providing the Stormie has '02 Boost' and the Kin has 'Increased Density' Recluse himself shouldn't be too bad with that setup. Only possible problem I see is versus Ghost Widow- Mind/ doesn't have an ST immob IIRC and you've a slight shortage of ranged damage.
Have fun folks, hope it goes well!! -
[ QUOTE ]
Edit -
PS: Just notice Dr Mangler said he could supply a TankYay!
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, problem solved then. Just be aware that if it's a Fire Tanker or an Ice Tanker then the /empath and the stormie will have their work cut out for them healing and 02 boosting him when he's tanking LR! -
If you're in desperate need of a tank, give me a shout @Maelwys or @Maelwysalts + I'll drag my INV/SS along.
Kheldian Dwarfie Taunt isn't autohit unfortunately, nor is it of long enough duration to tank +4 AVs. I don't think a Dwarf would hold up too long versus Lord Recluse either even if they could hold his aggro. -
The thing is, that you can either issue your henchmen "goto" or "attack" orders, or have BG mode on.
When hit by an AoE your henchmen will take more damage if they're in BG mode, and by telling them to scatter you'd also disable bodyguard mode. Whilst this would let your henchmen avoid damage from further AoEs, it would put YOU at serious risk of being two-shotted since you're no longer in BG mode and MM's HP is so low.
A typical Fire Blaster attack would see them laying down "Rain of Fire" or a few Fireballs on a MM, then if they get the MM to disengage BG Mode, hit them with ST attacks such as Blaze to finish them off.
The MM's only real counters are to lock down the Blaster (hold/mez/etc.) or run away. If they're a /FF they can also tell pets to attack and toggle on PFF, but PFF can be detoggled or bypassed with (Aim + Build Up).
Also any ST confuse attacks will work, not just AoE ones. Some MM henchmen are resistant to confuse and they're all easily resummonable... and it's really only the MM you need to affect with the confuse power. If the pets are on aggressive then once the MM is confused they'll start trying to kill their Master, and any Traps such as Caltrops, Trip Mines or Poison Trap will affect the MM as if they were an enemy...
(The most effective counters I've found to confuse as a MM are to always run with most pets in BG mode when you're not fighting- follow DEFENSIVE- and never, ever, ever, EVER stand directly on your own trip mines!)
