Quote:Setting up taunt really shouldn't take as long as it has been IMO. It's not like the Mitos move....
As for not being prepared, we (and by we I mean people who have the patience, time, etc to do that) need to see what an optimal number of people versus special helpers really churns out. Having a certain number of dedicated people for the prep should help; if Hamidon evolved depending on the number of people in the zone, that'd be a different story (....and I forsee that happening one day).
Anyway, tl;dr = be there
I do wish it had scaling HP like the AVs in trials do. It would make things a bit easier!
As for taunt... not the same people show up each time, so it's rough for them. -
Quote:I think most of those would have gone okay if we did a semi-speed instead; take out the first wave of mitos like normal, and while beating on Hami, THEN unleash the hounds of war ASAP.
/2 cents
I semi-agree with you. We did speed raids before and they went fantastic. People however are showing up without being prepared at all, and that makes it not work. If we're going to have to kill 1 wave and set up taunt and all that, it's really not that much shorter than killing 2 or 3. But I would be willing to try this. Maybe we'll try to fight through after killing 2 waves this Saturday and see what happens -
While I would really love to do this, the last few speed runs did not go very well. I'm going to stick to a regular run for this one. I need to give people more prep time for a speed run so they get nukes and all that jazz! -
Theme for 5/5 is Beach Wear OR Cinco de Mayo, your choice!!

Quote:Very much go with the flow. This is for fun. If it's easy to max rewards on the TF/Trial we'll do it but this is light and breezy no pressure other then to get to the end. I know that's a strange concept for a lot of you but you might enjoy it.
It's not a strange concept at all. It is just that I wondered how you were going to organize going from 8 to 16 to 24 to 16, etc. Or if you had plans if more than 8 people wants to run Apex/Tin. Just trying to be helpful in case you didn't think of it. -
Question if I may... is the goal to get 16 people? 2 teams for each Apex, Tin, Sutter, then have 16 for the itrials? (since Lam/MoM only take up to 16 and the others are all 24). Or are you just going to advertise for each and go with the flow? My OCD brain wants to know

Theme for 4/28 is.... Grease Lightning!
-
Tonight's raid will be led by @Arkyaeon or @Einthos (Arky). Thanks in advance! Theme is Golden Age Hero!

Rolling 30-34 will get you a crack at pretty much everything (except sting of the manti and the crap that ends at 25, farstrike, salvo, etc). This would also leave you out of rectified reticule, which can be a big money maker. I usually go with 30-34 anyways if I am 50 because I get a lot of useful recipes and occasionally the bonus steadfast or regen tissue (etc). I could also make a case for 20-24, but there is a lot of "worth nothing" recipes in that category.
What level is the character you want to roll with? -
Shopping for baby items and getting the house ready to sell!
-
Perhaps you were "exchanging" with someone else, but it was not with me! I RAN the Lambda, but I did not talk with you about it afterward (unless you mean like 2 lines in a chat channel... but that does not seem like what you mean).
I am always very clear about how I am going to run a trial before I start and I always maintain, if you (general you for all of this) do not like the way I am going to run it, I fully support you quitting and forming your own trial the way you like it. I believe the person putting the effort into forming the trial and recruiting people deserves to run it how they want to.
I run a quick Lam as I call it, not a sLAM which is the Freedom standard because that is how I enjoy running the trial. I am not interested in button mashing and killing things for the sake of killing them (normally). I want the end reward and a chance at some drops. I do both acids and grenades just in case things go south and also because we get 2 astrals instead of 1.
On the time you are describing.. I personally ran a 2.5 as Mr. Morbid describes. I don't care if people use acids, but I kind of think it is a waste of time. So I say, use them if you want to. Unless I really want that extra astral from the mobs (then I would say no acids at all and wait like 60-90 seconds for a build up- if I did this though, I probably cleared the outside too, re #2).
For me, the end reward is what matters- the emp, the table, and the astrals along the way. The iXP and the few threads are inconsequential. This is just my opinion anyone is welcome to disagree. Now... the faster you run a trial, the faster you get to the end reward. So if you just run the trial twice you'd get 2 tables and 1 emp which is equal to at minimum 2 basics and 20 threads. You need 20 threads for a basic, and there is no way in clearing the turrets and the outside mobs that you will get 20 threads, so already you are ahead. Plus in the speed of things, you have probably gotten more iXP for just a slightly longer period (2 quick trials versus 1 slow one) (clearing outside/turrets lam get's about 34% Interface, just doing courtyard Lam get's about 28%. 28+28=56. 56 > 34). If you switch and make your 2nd trial a BAF or a Keyes, you will be even more ahead of the game (Keyes being better because that 2nd emp could give you 20 threads which is 66% ixp for interface or judgment).
Regardless of what is efficient or inefficient, the correct way to do anything is the way it is more fun for you. If you like to play "hardcore style" or "casual style" or whatever style, that will obviously change what is most fun for you. It's a game and the point of a game is to have fun.
And I would like to note... this is why I never want to join Lam because people complain if we don't run the turrets or if we do, or if we don't get the astral or if we spend time to. Prior to the Lam in question, I did not do one in over two-three weeks. I think I will go back to abstaining from them. Just not worth the headaches. -

GP- you completely missed my point(s). Forget I said anything
MM- cookie cake... interesting. Glad you liked the builds. -
I am most excited for the new trial and the Hybrid slot. I have been itching for a new incarnate power to play with! I think this one has a lot of potential.

Quote:I'd recommend asking for advice on the AT forums, after reading some of the builds they have linked there. You can get the best advice that way and I think of the AT forums and the guides there as FAQs. Read those before asking more questions, as they are probably answered there.
I'm so sorry GP, this made me LOL. Why would you throw the poor boy out to the wolves? He was scared by the build forum... if he goes to an AT forum and sees the very strong debates there, he might just lose it!
Also, the vast majority of guides are way out of date sadly. They need to be updated taking ATOs, PVPIOs, Incarnates, etc. into consideration.
For someone like MM who just wants to have a build that he can follow and make (and get fly on!), I would really not recommend the AT forums. It's just not really "casual" friendly.
Though I will say I dearly miss the days of Des and Sarrate posting on the scrapper forums. Sigh... I need to bribe them back into game! -
It's not a TF, but shouldn't Maria's arc be included in here?
Also it is Dilemma Diabolique (if that matters to you). -

-
There is a specific section on the builds forum where you can request a bid in mids. Or you could just remind me which ones I forgot to give you and save yourself the pain of looking at some awful ones :P
-
I would in general call it a sandwich, but in NJ it would be either a sub, hoagie, or an "Italian" depending on what kind it was.
-
1. Definitely Soda
2. Neither, but if I had to pick one it would be chucked
3. Northeast US, specifically NJ and currently NH -
Unfortunately, team Kamikaze Geckos will be withdrawing from the ladder. We've missed two weeks of challenges already. Good luck to all still in!
@Aiolos would like to continue to play if anyone has a spot to pick him up.
