all these ppl coming back to the game... and that was the whole point. but oops wait paying customers still can't access the beta server!
let me tell you, it's not just the NEW paying customers, it's the OLD ones too. I've been a PAYING customer for over a year and am not recognized on the beta server AT ALL.
I appreciate the effort of the coh team but maybe they should try to do less more efficiently. Honestly. Because this is just too frustrating. As a faithful customer I should never have the experience of not being recognized for my patronage, not even for a moment.

No I'm on north american servers. I was under the impression that the new launcher is all you need instead of having to run seperate clients. In my launcher my choices are live, test and beta. but then when I got to copy a character the choices are beta and going rogue. so it's a lil bit confusing... I just need to know at the client which one to click and at character copy... which one to click. easy right? one would think! lol

I hope this isn't a redundant question but I've tried to search and couldn't find specific direction.
I 'heard' that the test/beta server is up and public and ready for testing. So I went to update it but there is some confusion over if it is the test or beta server. Then when I go to character copy the server designations are different: test server and going rogue server. So there is further confusion onto which one to copy characters. After all this I logged on to public beta then had a drop down list of servers I've never seen before... so which one to click there? ok I tried the top one and it said there was no public access. therefore is it possible I just answered my own question?
if there is public access on test or beta I need specific instructions with pin point accurate verbage (and a silver platter too please). =)
and while I'm here let me just take this opportunity to thank the devs for changing the forums back from german to english... I can now navigate again! -

Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know that for maybe over a week now the forums nav menus spontaneously changed to german nav menus on the top bar and their corresponding drop down menus. I'm not sure if there is a tweak for forum language preference but couldn't navigate to find it anyways. Again, this happened spontaneously. Is COH aware of this problem? Is there something I can do to correct it (instructions in german plz? lol)? Now I will 'thema erstellen' my problem. Thanks... =) -

I just wanted to say that through the all the downtime, changes, bugs, new currency, etc... I decided COH is the best game ever! haha
All the downtime is what made me realize that because I went looking for something else... and couldn't find it. Tried other things... nothing compared.
Now when I'm on a league and I listen to the complaints... I see things a whole different way.

Even though I have a little over a billion (total on all my 50s) I don't want to spend almost HALF of it on one tier 4 piece. I worked so hard to save up that much and it took so much time! I've been on this game almost a year.
In that year I've gotten 3 purple recipes and one purple incarnate componant in the new trials. and if it goes by effort... I NEVER SLACK, I ALWAYS FIGHT MY BUTT OFF!
This is so bad for me right now. I watched my friend get 2 purple recipes 2 days in a row, and countless purple recipes since we've been playing together. Me - THREE - in a year!
I wish the drops were more fair. it makes me want to quit. I'll never get ahead. a little luck is needed to get ahead because it simply CANT be done without it.... UNLESS YOU CHEAT...it just really can't be done without luck. I'm an active player. NOT A CASUAL PLAYER. 3 PURPLE RECIPES IN A YEAR, ONE PURPLE INCARNATE DROP. whenever a team mate gets a purp I want to cry.... it's really starting to get to me like making me feel singled out. I'm just SO unlucky in this game that I have to wonder if I pissed a dev off or something. I mean when you start thinking like that it's not a game anymore... IT'S TIME TO TAKE A BREAK OR FIND A (rewarding) GAME.

Every day I log into the game and click 'play' so fast I barely take the time to glance at the info in the new launcher. So today this caught my eye and maybe this doesn't belong here but I just wanted to say I'm so friggin proud of NC Soft I could just burst!!! Here's a cut and paste for all those who do the same as me....
NCsoft sends its most heart-felt condolences to the victims and people of Japan. As such, NCsoft will donate 500 million Yen (approx 4.5 million Euros/3.9 million GBP/6.3 million USD) to restoration of damages in the region. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan.
NCsoft senior executive Sung Joon Park stated, "In order to support those who have suffered from the earthquake and to help restoration, we decided to donate 500 million Yen, which corresponds to one month of sales." He also added that, "We'll maintain the service with the minimal electricity and personnel. Maintaining daily life is also important; therefore, we plan to uphold the service." I'm just frustrated because this game has exceeded the capacity of my patience. Every time I set time aside to play since i20 came out, it's down, and the wait is long, and there's usually no info about what's going on or when the game is going to be back up. then when I do play it's baf and lambada.
ps. the actual downtime went almost 2 hours beyond the announced downtime for a total of nearly 4 hours down... -
So... can the dev's let us know what is going on with all this downtime and possibly even let us know if this is going to be an all day thing or not?
I mean it's COMMON CURTESY to your PAYING, PATIENT, AND LOYAL PATRONS!
And not for nothing but I'm really starting to hate this game
I can't even play with any regularity, what the dev's say is NOT dependable or they don't say anything at all, and now as someone having several lvl 50s the only thing to do is incarnate trials because that's what everyone else is doing... either that or fly solo peppered with the occasional raid.
And I wait for this? MAJOR UGHHHHHHH!!!!
On GOOGLE finding another game to play and pay my money to... WITH ALL THIS FREE TIME WHAT ELSE AM I TO DO?
can't this extended server downtime be done at night? why do it on our time?

and what's it all for anyway? you only level shift in the trials. in cimerora you can't say +4 because you're really not level shifted anywhere else but those two trials...
looks like my 50s will be mediocre by incarnate standards... but they'll be happy. -

If that is truly the case you would be completely unaware that your complaints here have been said of pretty much every new TF that has been released in the last 5 years of the game. Especially for the first few weeks of it's release.
See... I think a large part of the problem is that I'm trying to team with people on freedom in atlas where toons were born and raised in a single day. There's so many. When they do that they don't learn how to play their toon well. Who knows what percentage of the leagues I've been on that have been comprised of 'insta-toons'? and now we're expecting this population to adapt (well and happily) to not a new tf... but leagues and end game trials that shift the level of our toons and that shift is dependant on only these 2 trials.
Whatever it is in the game that makes so many people want to bypass the content created for them needs to be fixed. I realize this happens in every game but it's so prevalent that it's effecting miss 11.5 month account holder (and I'd imagine many others) ... especially when things like this come out.
Imagine being on a league and every other toon on that league is familiar with their skills, how to play... they've spent time on their toon, hanced it up, spent their hard earned money... we wouldn't be having the same problems we're having now, at least not to this magnitude. -
I don't know. I'm not a total noob but I'm not a finely aged vet either ( I love to say that lol ) although I am a total addict and probably play more than a lot of people. That said I'm still learning about slotting. In almost a year on this game I've talked to so many people that all have different opinions on how to slot from 'it's not needed' (lol) to 'frankenslotting'. So I got me some mids and respected that darn brute so many times... I could never get lethal/smashing def over 20% no matter what I did. I'm talking 5 7.5's, enzyme hami's, set bonus' w/ focus on defense... and spent I don't even know how much 1... maybe 2 billion? or more? I don't keep track cuz if I did it might make me sad lol. So if you have a mids build to share or advice about slotting I'm ALL EARS. =)

I just made a war mace/fire brute because I wanted to be different lol. But seriously war mace has tempted me a few times before because of it's high damage AOE attacks unlike ss which are more melee attacks. I also have a fire/fire tank, one of my first toons which is now enjoying a second life... and I just deleted a 50 ss/wp brute because I didn't like the wp set. I have a nrg/wp stalker and the wp set is different for stalkers than it is for brutes. my stalker with wp dies very rarely but my ss/wp brute was squishy no matter how I slotted it or hanced it. The war mace/fire brute looks like it will be fun (it's 32 now). I picked a shovel for the weapon and built a whole theme around it in the name and costume. The bone weapon option was hard to resist I was going to name it 'bam bam' but that was taken lol. So anyone with war mace/fire brute? what do you think?

for a long time I didn't make a PB but then finally did and I'm like... why'd I wait so long! I love it! I love the options and the shape shifting! I have to say slotting effectively can make my head spin... I'm still working with that lol. My question is this... ancillary pool skills such a fight, concealment etc all offer defense which is why most other ATs take them, but in a PB you only need def in human form (but then you can use your human for skills in light form)... so how much defense do I need in my ancillary skills? If I'm in human form my PB shields provide all DR and no def. So should I take weave, combat jumping and stealth? If that is done it consumes a lot of slots. So how does a good PB work around this? Just wondering... and I have nothing better to do since the server's been down all day... thanks =) -

I'm just going to be straight here. My account is only almost a year old and in that time I've seen big changes. My opinion is that some things in the game are almost impossible to get unless you've been playing for years or are really, really lucky... or learn to cheat, find an exploit, or buy $$$ from one of the generically named level 1 vendors who spam broadcast chat with their wares. An example of this is any decent enhancement worth having costs anywhere from half a billion to 2 billion inf especially if you hope to have any kind of chance of being a competitive player who can literally stand their own ground. Another example would be purple drops. and PVP... what's the point?
People play games because they enjoy REWARDS...
When i20 was in trial I chimed in with everyone else who disagreed with the difficulty of the BAF, how the powers make melee toons useless, and how a PUG clamors to make sense of it first, then tries to beat it, only to die repeatedly.
I did beta over and over... remaining objective in that I was not joining the brown nosers who were telling the devs how GREAT it was ( I saw you, you know who you all are!!!) ... and I wasn't going to let the influence of the unknown make it an unpleasant experience either. After i20 went live I did it again... FOR TWO DAYS!!! I went into the BAF over and over and over again... a different assortment of a team each time. Every single time WE FAILED! All of my toons except 2 are 50s. All of them are completely developed, totally IO'd, uniquely themed even with their own story lines. In other words I put a lot into each and every one of them. They all died.... over and over.
Afterwords I went into the courtyard in Atlas and briefly expressed how I'd like to finish the BAF just once.... and some righteous brown nosing **** said 'we just finished 3 times'! Well, I don't know what exclusive club that person belongs to but great for him, great for his whole team/league! How am I any different than him? That's what I want to know. Seriously!
People don't play games to feel like failures or to die or to never reach content because they can't even complete the mish... and what of these reward 'strands' now among others? I suppose doing the BAF and lambada are the only way to get them? Good thing I figured out yesterday I can still be rewarded for being a failure despite my best efforts as my salvage is full of strands and astral merits! I only have to sell myself out to do it! So if I want these items I just go fail! WOOT!
As someone who has worked for yahoo, geocities and NBC I would respectfully suggest to the devs to definately keep adding new content because it's ALL ABOUT THE CONTENT... but when doing so please try to focus on the community at large and not an elite few...
