    Elec/Elec

    [ QUOTE ]
Elec/Dark keeps calling out to me.

Why? This is a strange 6th sense I have been developing, I am assuming this is alerting me to seriously good combinations that I can't possibly feck up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same here, although my reasonings are more palatable, but secret for now lest everyone else realise the wonders that will be Elec/Dark.

The lack of a self heal kills Elec/Elec before it gets started IMHO.

I have a strong feeling my forthcoming Magic Elec/Dark Brute will become my CoV main.

Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up so much ...
  2. As I'm currently detached once again from the CoH computer, I'll post the screenie of the team and everyone who attended in a day or two.

As for now, thanks to all who attended, especially my team, who absolutely blasted through the TF and had some fun to boot.

SS4 next Sunday, new thread coming soooooooooooooon!
  3. So, did he make it then?

    Uber-grats, mate.

    Pppffffff, Elec/Dark for me....

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You! Stop reading my mind!
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Nahh, had a few mishs with pretty much all Masks

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't the in-mission Masks not count for the badge?

    Or has it changed recently?
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Potentially, this TF could be done in 2.5 hours with a good team and multiple teleporters, but is more likely to take 3-4 from what I recall.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thanks for that, Li.

Yeah, I suggest those attending by pessimistic and assume a minimum of 3 hours duration, probably more like 4 hours.

Still, one of the shorter ones, to be sure.
  7. Question 2: is Shiver useful at all? I'm thinking in terms of stacking the -Recharges as high as possible.
  8. Ah, Miss Frost, good to see you again. Thanks for the input.

Yes, since I'm using Teleport as my travel power, I'm hoping I'll be able to port to a location past the mob I want Jack to aggro, thereby making him run through them.

In response to some of the other pointers raised by others, I'm surprised Sonic Cage is so popular. I find these type of powers are best used to [censored] people off, either because you're inside one or you've just wasted your big-hitters on someone who can't be touched.

Thanks for the pointers so far, people.
  9. Currently level 15, so very much planning ahead.

    Most definitely a PvE build.

There's an obvious lack of damage in the build in general, but frankly, if I wanted damage I'd go play another Scrapper. This is a Team-oriented build.

I'm focusing on Control and Buffery. The plan is that Ice Slick, Glacier and Liquefy are the main Control powers, applying one or two per group, and Flash Freeze is the emergency button to throw at a second group which has been accidently aggro'd.

So, my questions to those out there with more experience are:

    - Jack Frost: Good damage dealer? Good pseudo-Tank (given he's going to be all sorts of Sonic buffed)? What level of Controls does he have (if any)?
    -

    Commentry much welcomed.

    ... and about time too!

Like so many others, the call of the elves was too great for the poor fella to ignore.

Grats on getting a Troller to 50, something I'm trying to avoid.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    <cough> Chorus </cough> :P

Besides, Controllers are eeeasssyyy to get to 50, once you start being able to do some damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Enz had Phantom Army and a nice Phantasm.
You had the squad of crazy monkies.

I get an Ice Tanker ... So when do I get this "Damage"?

However, I do look forward to the combination of Jerk Frost plus Sonic shields.

  12. The Chantry is under attack from those devilish Circle of Thorns types. Time to lay some mystically-themed smack-down.

    Task force information is here.

The level range is 44 - 50, so only the very high levels need apply.

Time required for the Task Force is quite a bit IIRC. A proper estimattion is beyond me, if someone remembers how long it is, please post below.

Required team size is a full 8 man team, which may prove awkward unfortunately ... but we can get teams started with less than 8.

Our meeting point is Justin Augustine, the contact for the TF, based just beside the portal to the Chantry from Firebase Zulu at 10am on Sunday 23rd April.

I've not decided who to bring to this. I doubt my Blaster will get to 44 in time, and MBar's had more than his share of fun in the Shards, so I'll probably get my Rad/Dark Defender Darkshift or my flying Scrapper out for this one.

Any questions, ask below or get me in-game @MBar.
  13. Ice/Elec is a good choice for single target damage, and has plenty of holds, which are excellent solo'ing tools but also great in teams. Locking down a Boss in 2 seconds flat is something my Archery/Elec was missing until lvl 41 ...

You should go the Blapper route incidently, the Elec melee powers are rather good.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
9 hours in and after many attempts team gave up tryng to kill AV 3 of our makesift team left after 6 missions, including the tank . For much of next 8 missions we were down to 4, with no scrappers or a tank think it was hopeless but we did get AV down to a third of health . Great effort by those who stayed including War, Gemstone and Starx better luck next time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I thought we had problems ...

Many apologies, Morgan, it was obvious from the start you guys got the short end of the stick, and I'm sorry for that. All I can offer is that on future TF's, I'll get you and those of you who stuck with it until the AV on a proper team next time, preferablely the one I'm leading.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
But did you manage to finish? If you managed it tankless, then Congratulations.

    If not, then commiserations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks to a Zorch suicide-bomber run and some Wedding Banded Scrappers, Task Force Truth was indeed successful. We died, they died, then I died some more, but being Tanker-less, we kicked some serious [censored].

A battered but victorious Task Force Truth stands in awe of their achievements.

Shadow Shard 3 next week, new thread coming Sooooooon(TM).
  16. Just realised I posted the wrong position of the contact in the original post. Sara Moore is actually located in the Molepoint in the Cascades. If you can't find us, send me a tell in game to @MBar or Amanda Pierson.
  17. Amanda Pierson has dinged 40 so her attendance is guarenteed.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
You're probably looking at about 4 hours, up to 6 if you're taking your time, from what I remember.

It may be possible to shorten it by stealthing whenever possible, but it's not the shortest of TF's.

Of course, my memory could be scrambled, as it's been something like 10 months since I last did it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apologies for not posting length estimates at the start, neither could I remember or find some decent info about this TF, but 4 - 6 hours is about right.

    I think ...
  19. I'm bringing my Blaster BTW, so Tankers would be appreciated.
  20. I heard that Sara Moore doll saying our achievements last Sunday on SS1 were nothing special.

    We'll bloody show her.

Task force information is here (in some form).

The level range is 40 - 49 (IIRC), so only high levels need apply.

Required team size is a full 8 man team, which may prove awkward unfortunately ... but we can get teams started with less than 8.

If you've not been in the Shadow Shards much before, go have a look around. Access to Firebase Zulu in the Shadow Shard is through Portal Corp in Peregrine, there's a marker on the map in PI for it. If your travel power is Teleport or Fly, you'll have no problems, however SJ's and especially SS's will have to use the gravity geysers to travel between islands, which are managable but hard to use for some and hard to get used to. We will combat this by hopefully providing each team with someone with Fly/Teleport and Recall Friend.

Our meeting point is Sara Moore herself in the Cascade Archipeligo at 10am on Sunday 16th April. She's right beside the portal exit from Firebase Zulu.

Any questions, ask below or get me in-game @MBar.

Hmmm, thats 33 people and there were 3 teams of eight and one team of 5. Excellent work there, MBar ...

Thanks one and all, I'll get a new Onslaught organised for Easter Sunday "Soooooooooooooooooooooooon".
  22. Yes, we did kill everything and were running on Unyielding, Zorch then Dust had crashing and logging in problems, and Dust's steam-powered computer (/em wants to throttle Silent ) meant we were slow, finishing in about 10 hours.

Thanks to the four teams for taking part, I did have a list of all those for attended and I'll try and get that online later, as well as my screenie of the group photo.

As for next week, we'll see. I've got a few important RL things to do before I can think about Onslaught 9 unfortunately (and a Blaster to get to 40 before she can attend SS 2 ).

Edit: Did your team actually get it finished, Neutron Zio?
  23. [ QUOTE ]

This series of TF's was originally going to be called "MBar's TF killing all healing biahtch funkay monkey eating flying kill kill kill!! jumping stabby kill! healing kill!!", but it wouldn't fit in the thread title box, so I just had to settle for Onslaught ... Damned luck ...

  24. [ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't leave out either REl or REn of my build.

Ditto. You're a Tank for gawd sake!
