Quote:Hi Xerxes, We try to run events several times a week. Most of the scheduled events are a bit later in the evening, but we do have some on the weekends. Roughly you can expect to see an event from our crew during the following times:Hello All,
These events sound like a lot of fun. I've been playing CoH off and on since beta and have yet to see even 50% of this game. These events sound like a good old fashioned way to check out the game and avoid excessive farming. And believe or not, I still have yet to get a toon to 50 (closest is 46 due to altitis). I wish I could join in but your times are bit late for a working dad on the east coast. Is there another time or day events are run? Maybe something on weekends? I have been looking to push onto blue side since I can switch all my favorite CoV classes over now. Organized leadership is a rare and important thing in mmos and I think what you are doing here is great!

Mondays at 10pm Eastern: Hero Side Runs with @Luna de Nocturne
Wed at 10:30pm Eastern: Villain Side Runs with @Mr E-Man
Thurs at 8pm Eastern: Weekly Strike Target Runs with @Megpie
Sat (sometimes Fridays) at 10:30pm Eastern: Master of Something Runs with @Mr E-Man
We try to post the events here on the forums, but the easiest way to keep up with us is the "Freedom TF Chat" channel in game. You can type "/chanjoin Freedom TF Chat" to join the channel. We keep the Message of the Day for that Channel updated with the upcoming events for the week. It's also used by regular members of our group to fill out teams for Task Forces we run at the last minute. -
I am going to miss you so much my friend. Thank you for spending the past 2 and a half years helping lead the Horde. I look forward to when you return, even if it's only for a weekend at a time.
I hope that you find something entertaining to pursue and that life gives you what you desire and deserve.
*Hugs*
Luna/Sue (and yes, I know I used my real name) -
I'm going to have to miss this week Mr E. I've got my first of only 2 shows for the year this weekend and I am so far behind in getting ready for it. I really need to push to get it all done by Thursday since Friday is pretty much out the door prep wise. Good luck to you all!
I have no idea who I'm playing for the next round. I might bring someone over, or I might play a scrapper who is already on red side. I'll figure it out by next week. Once I get through this Sunday, life will return to normal for me for a while =) Who are you bringing over or playing next round? That might affect my decision on what to play (to compliment it). -
Quote:Yes, I was very shocked we got the MO Apex lol for the exact same reasons. That Warwalker was up there forever, and I know I saw him launching his blasts several times. And it felt like an eternity taking down Battle Maiden. I thought we had spent 15 minutes just on her first spawn =P A timer would be lovely. But it was a very pleasant surprise =)The Nukes really help a lot in getting D11 down fast - I was very, very surprised we got the Master of Apex last night - there was one WW up top for at least 8 minutes blasting away after we wiped.
And it's a good thing our wipe on the 2nd mission happened when BM had retreated...I'd love for the devs to implement a countdown clock for her when the timer is active - I thought we took too long, but apparently we were good (I'm betting it was somewhere around .01 seconds left on the clock!)
Thanks for another fun run Luna - I'll probably be retiring Bleakest Death - necro is not my favorite power set to run...stupid zombies...
I'll have Cold Satisfaction ready to go for Monday. -
Quote:Usually it involves a team dedicated to getting the badge with lots of pets, nukes, buffs, and everyone on the same page. We attempted it last night with a few players who were not very familiar with the TF, so it didn't go as smoothly as it could have. But we didn't set out to do the TF as an MO exclusively, so it's all good =)I was happy to tag along, i usually dont get home until 11pm est so i cant sign up for the weekday tf's. But thankfully you guys tried to get the dodger badge again and i had just logged on to the game. It was fun running with all of you again, even though that dodger badge eluded us.
That dodger badge is a tough one to get, it seems that its luck that no one gets hit by the proximity bomb. Im not sure anyone has come up with a full proof way to get that badge.
I've gotten it once and on that occasion we had Director 11 down in about 15 seconds. But we also had about 5 Heavy Cores, a few Shivans and at least 3-4 sets of nukes lol. -
Thank you to everyone that was able to join us last night! We FINALLY finished Round 4 of the Monday Night Horde: Villains. Thank you all for toughing it out! I like villain side, but a lot of the missions and task forces feature very repetitive enemies. It's also much harder to drag a group from 1 to 50 on task forces alone.
Last night we ran the Apex and Tin Mage Task Forces. We had 2 complete teams. My notes are a bit sketchy, but lets see if remember who all we had =):
My Team was:
Soothesayer Talona: Mind/Thorns Dom
Bleakest Death: Zombie/Dark MM
Torrtuga: Fire/WP Brute
Motorpsycho Nitemare: Psi/MM Blaster
Double Shot: DP/Fire Blaster
King Sac: Energy/Energy Blaster
Pyrewulf: Fire/Invuln Scrapper
Fire Starter 2012: Fire/Energy Blaster
MB's Team was:
Brenda Brain-Freeze: Ice/MM Blaster
Luchs: Stalker
Takeo: Bubble? Defender
Quark Soup: Fire/Rad Controller or Corrupter?
Sevenpenny: Kat/WP Scrapper
Doc Turg: Ill/Storm Controller
General Damos: Soldier/?? MM
Princess Polyxena: Tank
My team finished the Apex TF in 1:07:19 with 109 (!!) deaths lol. Even though our team had 6 level shifted players, and everyone had something slotted in their alpha slot, we struggled the entire TF. We was very squishy with 4 blasters, a dom and a mastermind. Our main meatshield was my husband on his WP Brute who was very weak against the Clockwork damage, my control on my dom was non existant, and our only support was a mastermind, so everytime someone looked at him, Mr E fell down dead :smirk:
And yet somehow, we got Master of Apex LOL! Yay team! =)
On the Tin Mage task force, we had a little bit of a team shakeup. I switched out from my Dom to Dyanthia a Rad/Rad Defender. We also lost Fire Starter who could not stay for the second part, but we gained Night Beast (Thanks for joining Synakul!) in her place. We also lost Motorpsycho Nitemare because as he mentioned, he kept crashing and couldn't zone into the first mission. Sorry Xort! =(
We finished the Tin Mage TF in 56:31 with 34 deaths. We didn't get the MO because of Dodger, but I think the team did get the other badges (I had them already on Dyanthia).
Last night was also the last night with Master Blade as one of our leaders (at least for now, I'm still hoping you decide to return full time one day!). I'm glad everyone was able to show up and say good bye for now to our friend.
Next Monday night will be the start of Round 5 of the Monday Night Horde Events. We'll be returning to Hero side with a fun night of the Positron 1 and 2 Task Forces. I'll have the sign up sheet up tomorrow for it.
Thank you all for being such a wonderful crew to run with and giving me a reason to keep running these events after two and a half years! =) -
I understand my friend. I hope you get it worked out just so you can play again soon. =)

Please join us for our last Freedom Horde Monday Night Task Force of Round Four!
Tomorrow night we will be doing both the Apex and Tin Mage Task Forces.
It will be great to wrap up this round, but it will be a bit sad since it will probably be Master Blades last night with the Horde. =(
Right now I have 2 full teams, and we are taking names for alternates. These TF's can be a smidge rough, so I'm asking if you join that you have a level 50 who has something in their Alpha Slot. If you have a toon that is already level shifted, or who has some of the other Incarnate Abilities, that would be great too! Nukes, Shivans and Heavy Cores would be a plus too!
See you all tomorrow! -

Quote:Sure, we'd love to have you join! We'll be starting NEXT Monday, June 13th. See ya then!If you're still taking sign ups, I'd like to join for these task forces. I've only been playing for about a month now (started may 1) and I haven't done any task forces yet, but they sound like they could be fun. I've got a blaster or a healer I can bring to the group, but I think I'd rather play the blaster. It's a fire/mental blaster named Kamikaze Phoenix. I look forward to playing with you all.

Leftover's from the Praetorian Invasion on Friday night. People crashed/logged out in those instances, and when they log back on, it seems to be reopening the instances. I've seen the same ones come and go all week. They *should* be gone now that the Thursday maintenance has been done. But I might be wrong.

No, there are remnants everywhere. In Atlas Park 5 I saw a troop portal sitting over City Hall, and one inside of City Hall as well. In Kings Row there are at least 2-3 of the portals. I've also heard of them being in one of the Peregrine Islands.
On Pinnacle last Saturday night we ran into Nightstar just standing by a cave door over near the mountains in Cap. Needless to say our team took her out. I'm not sure when Pinnacle had their invasion, but she was just standing around looking very lonely :smirk: -
Thanks to everyone that was able to join us last night! We was able to run 2 full teams after picking up one of my super group members, and a friend of ours from the chat channel.
My team was:
Soothesayer Talona: Mind/Thorns Dom
Bleakest Death: Necro/Dark MM
Torrtuga: Fire/WP Brute
Motorpsycho Nitemare: Psi/MM Blaster
Ragypt: Fire/Storm Corr
Double Shot: DP/Fire Blaster
Brahma: Brute
Fists of Bono: SS/Invuln Tank
MB's Team was:
Brenda Brain-Freeze: Ice/MM Blaster
Whitner: Mind/Cold Controller
Pibgorn: Rad Corr
Fiona Morte: Rad Corr
Sevenpenny: Kat/WP Scrapper
Saltier: Fire/Ice Blaster
Super Love: Brute
John Loadstone Doe: Stone Tank
My team finished in 1:54:56 with 58 deaths. I think MB's team finished about a half hour before us. My team's biggest problem was maybe only 3 of us on the team was even semi-familiar with the TF. That and my mind dom is not nearly as cool as Paragon's was. =(. I really need to get some set bonuses and incarnate bonuses on her.
This was the FINAL Villain Excluse event for this run. So for anyone who wanted to take your toons back to hero side, go for it. There is one more event left in this current schedule. That would be next week when we run the Apex and Tin Mage TF's. For these two events, I beg and plead for you all to bring level 50's who have at least something in their Alpha Slot. I tried to lead one of these once with someone who did not have something in their alpha slot, and the team just wasn't able to finish the TF. And if you want to stock up on HVAS units, Nukes, Shivans, they can help.
Thanks for joining last night everyone, and see you next Monday!
