Quote:And the kitties!I've told my daughter that there is no point in looking at petfinder before the actual day you're going, and maybe not even then, and then I look at petfinder and even have it email me new matches.
The way we got our dog, however, is that we went to Decatur, about 1 hr, to see a collie mix which turned out to be insane. He was 8 months old and was born in the shelter which was very industrial. Decatur has 62 kittens, not just cats, but baby kittens, currently. However, when crazy collie didn't work out, we got our laid back dog who is beautiful and lazy.
Ramble ramble.
Back on topic: Eveyrone sucks but me!
I have 5 cats (yes I am crazy), and 2 of them came from Petfinder. My husband decided that if I had to get one, we'd get an orange one because it would be different from the other two we had at the time. We found an animal rescue that had 2 different orange cats listed on Petfinder. We ask to see one cat, and the lady meets us and brings both orange cats. She was smart enough to put the really pitiful one in my husbands arms. When I asked him which cat he wanted to take, he said "I guess we're getting them both". -
Quote:All 3 are awesome! You should get all 3 =)Honor is adorable. Romeo is okay. Hotshot has a set of eyebrows that could make a kid poop their pants in fear.
You should get Hotshot, just for that reason.
And this is why I should not look at petfinder.... I would take them all if i could =) -
=( The forums ate my post.... booooooooooooo....
Basically to sum up what I was just typing:
I may start a new toon or move toons to the VIP server, but I plan on keeping Freedom the Server as my home.
There is talk on the FB group for the horde to utilize Facebook or Guild Portal as a way to include Free or Premium Players in our events. I think as a whole, we need to be more active as a community and step up our game. We need to welcome the new and returning players, and go out of our way to include them.
I hope the developers work out a way to allow the Free or Premium players limited access to the forums. It should be super easy to do, and will make this experience better for everyone involved. If you don't want to be bothered by "troll" posts by free players, then don't go to that section of the forums. =) -
Quote:I think I saw reference that they might consider a limited forum access to the Premier people to let them interact more with us VIPs. One thing we can do is to start promoting the Facebook group more as a way for Premier people to interact with us for events that we schedule. I think the launch will be fall at the earliest, so I think we have a while to start brainstorming ways to include our returning friends =)Aye; my main concern has to do with the economy of those two systems, and the affect of RMT upon each.
Other than that, bring the freeks along... although, I think it'll mean I'll have to commit to being at the site of the Monday runs an hour early, to talk with our future freek and preemer people. Veeps will still be able to sign up on the forums and such, but the freeks and preemers will have (understandable) problems with communication. -
Quote:Yep, you have until July 11th to get her converted.OK - that gives me a few weeks to finish moving Cold Satisfaction fully to hero side. I started, but want to hold off until the last minute so I can take care of some stuff villain side.
Although I love the Galaxy City location for Flashback nights, I think we'll have to move to Ouro this round for flashbacks. I'm not sure Goldberg has a base with a flashback crystal in it, and I am playing on a toon in a secondary SG I run, and it is not fully functional yet. I figured since my Main SG the Infinite League is tricked out with everything functional I can shove in it, I might as well play this round in the SAW SG, and start earning prestige for it.
And if anyone needs a home, I can offer up the SAW group in exchange for prestige :smirk:. It's coalition-ed with the Infinite League, so it has access to a full set of tp's. Each week as I earn more prestige I'm adding more to the SAW group =) -
Thanks to everyone that joined us Monday night. It was a lot of fun as always. We was able to get 3 full teams running.
Thank you to Myr and Goldberg for running their teams. Thanks also for Goldberg's team sticking around and helping to take down all 3 Babbages. And as always, it was great to see MB back hanging out as we were setting up. I hope you are reading this my friend. I better see your butt in game some when CoF launches later this year!
My team was:
Luna de Lumiere: PB
Doc Sol: Emp/Rad Defender
Cold Satisfaction: Ice/Dark Corr
Double Tap Girl: DP/MM Blaster
Angeliscar: Invuln/KM Tank
King Sac: Energy/Energy Blaster
Sa-lt: Stone/Stone Tank
Pep-per: Dark/Dark Defender
We finished in 2:02:38 with 10 deaths. It seemed to me like there was more deaths than that, but whatever. We had horrible defeat all maps. Very bad random rolls on those guys! So we ended up stealthing the missions we could to make up for the amount of time we spent slogging through the defeat all's.
If I'm not mistaken, next week will be Sister Psyche. Then we get a week off for the fourth (Gotta watch fireworks with my niece... it's one of the highlights of the year). Then we'll be starting some flashback stories that people have requested.
Thanks for joining everyone, and see you next time! -
Quote:Heh, I have a feeling that's what that means.... Like VIP's get pushed to the front of the line if the server is full enough to warrant a queue. I had been wondering why on earth they were developing the queue system in the first place since the only remote time we need it is if you're trying to get on the test server for the first day of open beta, or if it's double xp weekend. From the VIP list of benefits: priority queuing
WTH is this? Being on Freedom for my entire sub, I hate when que comes up since we've been hit pretty hard on high volume events. Even that "server crash" party turned into a slideshow, which wasn't playable.
IF however, that means we get to boot some n00b off the server so we can get on, I'm all for it! Lift the red crushed velvet rope for the VIP Lounge!
After reading all 80+ dev posts that popped up in my Google Reader acct yesterday, I'm feeling better about the change. I'm not too worried about the monthly fee versus the charges for cool content I specifically want (although I will be interested in the pricing structure of the extra stuff). I view CoH as entertainment. *I* get my $1ish worth of entertainment a day out of the game (2 accounts). And the same way I view digital downloads, and other games I've played in the past with virtual content..... I'll spend money on occasion if there is something I want. I view it as entertainment. I waste money on going to the movies, at least this is something I can enjoy more than once (versus the cost of buying a movie ticket).
I like the fact the dev's appear to really be listening to what their dedicated customers are saying about this, and I think they will continue to evolve the system to fix any exploits or annoyances that pop up (from griefers on free accts).
Basically they are taking the 2 week/level 14 max free trial and turning it into the basic free to play tier. If people like the game enough, they can shell out some cash, and become a premium or VIP member.
Vets who have money problems, or busy lives can come and go as they want. Which makes me happy cause it's been very sad to see so many of my friends in game drift away.
I think my initial reaction was to the stigma attached in the past with Free to Play games. In the past, it's been viewed as the death knoll of the game. And I enjoy this game, and the community and friends I have made from it. I am not ready to give that up yet. So it did worry me at first that they were marking the beginning of the end of the game.
But after reading the dev posts last night, and what some of the people I know have to say about the situation, I feel much more optimistic. The world (especially the business world) continues to revolve around us. If this game wants to survive and grow, it needs to change to compete.
My one "semi" complaint is the introduction of the Reward Tokens and Paragon Points. It seems too overly complicated to introduce two separate systems (Reward Tokens for vet reward type powers, and Paragon Points for in game loot, costumes, what would have been a booster pack type of stuff). Just introduce one system, and let me as a player choose how I want to spend the points or tokens I earn each month. If I want something bad enough, I'm going to drop the money on it if I don't have enough points saved up.
Okay, that's my thoughts of the matter on this. Sorry if they seem a bit jumbled up, I'm fighting a really bad headache and I've already caught a ton of words come out wrong as I've been typing. -
Wonderful news for EMPulse. Congrats on the wonderful journey your life is taking. Take care!

Quote:Yeah, I'm excited about the concept, but a big part of me thinks this is what is going to happen. Which saddens me greatly.I don't like this because they haven't talked about price conversion. It can't be 1 PP = $1 since they're giving us 400 PP per month. A more likely conversion would be $15 = 400 PP or 1PP = ~26 cents. But that doesn't guarantee they're going to use the same pricing model for the store content (booster packs $9.99 = 267 PP). And we have no baseline for what a Power Set, Zone, or in-game item would be in real money. It's entirely possible they could charge 1200 PP or 2000 PP (like Cryptic does) for Zones and Power Sets, the equivalent of 3 months of subscription Paragon Points.
I hope this change brings back some of the great players we have lost. But I worry that it will probably spell the end of the game.
All that said, I am excited about getting to buy the things that interest me. I started this game 3 years ago, so I'm really far down the vet reward chain. So it's exciting to think I can save my little points and get the darn Reveal Map Power sometime before the game servers shut down -
You know, I know you said you all had a rough time of it there near the end, but on my notes I've got very similar times for past runs, and we weren't bumped up in difficulty =)
Thanks to all for coming and joining last night. I'm headed out for the day, so I'll post up more info later tonight. Thanks all! -

Quote:Looks like I might be one spot left. If so I would like to join with Ursa Max (SS/Inv brute) again. Thanks a lot.
REMINDER to everyone else:
This is TONIGHT! See you all at the contact in Skyway! -
I hope you find a SG that fits what you are looking for.
That being said, I would suggest you look into events setup here on the forums and join some that are in times that you play. Also check out the in game chat channels listed in the global list at the top of the Freedom Forums. You'll find people using those to setup Task Forces. Join a few of those and you'll probably quickly find people you enjoy teaming with.
A lot of people now days prefer to have their own personal SG's where they can stash enhancements for their own personal use. But a lot of us get together on a regular basis and play with people we have met in game (but who are not part of the same SG). I'm part of the Freedom Horde, and while we don't have a Super Group, we are a "group" of people who tend to play during the same times, and we often team up for events. I have grown very close to the other players in the group and it's better than any "supergroup" full of people who may or may not play at the same time, or have the same interests that I do.
Good luck! -

The Fall of the Clockwork King
Thanks Caliburst =) -
No scoop here, but my psychic intuition predicts Friday July 8th, something will happen.
-
Quote:I'll be switching to full Villain mode before the Cap SF as well. Just in case we have enough for 2 teams. Thanks for joining everyone - sorry I pooped out after we did the five tip missions - I just had no energy last night.
Next week will be more of the same - 5 tip missions followed by the morality mission to move us to vigilante.
I will make sure I complete the journey to villain side before the Cap SF (so I can get the missions).
Everyone else will be OK as a vigilante until we start doing the Ouroboros Flashback Missions/SFs. -
Thanks to everyone who was able to join us last night! And a really special thanks to Master Blade for borrowing a friends account so he could log in and say "Hey" as we got the new round started off. I hope you are reading this my friend. We miss you and it felt weird to not have you on a team!
Sorry it took a few minutes to get the teams straightened out, I had a lot of TBA's and I was scrambling to get the teams fairly balanced. Thank you Ecru (Myrdinn) and Midnight Spike (Goldberg) for leading the other teams!
My team was:
Luna de Lumiere: PB
Azure Efreet: Demon/Pain MM
Cold Satisfaction: Ice/Dark Corr
Baznon: Ax/Shield Brute
Angeliscar: Invuln/KM Tank
King Sac: Energy/Energy Blaster
Sorceress Peresphoni: Dark/Dark Defender (Part 2)
We finished the first part in 58:20 with 26 deaths. The CoT map was a smidge uglyThings were definitely nutty! For part 2 we picked up Peresephoni who was a late arrival. We finished up in 58:26 with 16 deaths.
Next week is Synapse, level 15+. I'll try to have the sign up sheet up by Thursday, but we all know how well that goes =P
Thanks again for joining everyone! See you all next week =) -
I think @Miss Heavenly will be an auto sign up again, but she's on vacation this week and will not be back in town until Saturday. Not sure what she'll play.
Edit: Oh yeah, I'm bringing Persephone Twilight: Dark/Dark Defender to these. -
REMINDER! This is TONIGHT!
Looks like we have a few spots open still. See you all tonight!
