Quote:For what it's worth I never assumed this was a costume SET. I figured this was a costume POWER just like all the other special handout powers have been.It is indeed a costume power. The code you'll get at the Freedom Player Summit won't unlock individual costume pieces. Sorry all.
These are exactly the kinds of powers I suggested be sold in the Paragon Market for those who have no chance to get one of the free ones from the event. Flying cross-country with only a few weeks notice is something I imagine many people simply cannot do. *shrugs* -
Quote:When I asked Zwillinger about an alternative way to get that special costume code last week this is the answer I got:Need.... Rulu-Shin.... costume....
I would seriously buy a costume piece set like that.
Read into that what you will.Quote:Keep an eye on the Paragon MarketQuote:...Now that you have the Paragon Market up and running I would suggest that you think about offering the special costume codes you pass out during these meet-n-greets for sale on the market. The people who actually can attend the events would still get these codes for free, but selling them in market would provide an opportunity for other people to enjoy them as well. Besides it's basically a new source of extra money for you that you would not have otherwise had. It'd be a win-win for everyone.

Quote:It's funny but when I watched that scene with Carl snatching the bundle of tools away from the body in the truck I got a distinct flashback of the scene in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan film where we see him steal the sword away from that old dead king sitting on his throne. Even the moment when Carl yanked the bundle and the body slumped down towards him seemed incredibly similar. I don't know if the people making this show was trying to copy that Conan scene on purpose, but if they weren't they had a major case of unconscious copy-catism on their hands.I think the non-zombie dead bodies simply serve the purpose of a visual/suspense device for the TV show (its not as creepy seeing empty vehicles as much as dead bodies littering the area). While watching the kid reach into the truck, it plants in your head the question of whether the body is really a "sleeping" zombie thats about to bite a hole in this character since the adults are too silly to keep an eye on their children.

Quote:Yeah that -might- be Jenner's big secret, but honestly I think it'd be a little cheesy if that was it. I mean it's not like she could hide that from the group forever anyway.I was under the impression that all Jenner whispered in to Rick's ear was that Andrea is pregnant...
Just an opinion/guess.
What real purpose does it serve the story to keep something like that secret? Besides even at the beginning of the episode when Rick was talking on the radio he made allusions to the secret that he teasingly (for the audience at any rate) kept his mouth shut about. Why would it matter if he told whoever he hopes would be listening whether some random woman they wouldn't know was pregnant or not?
Andrea might turn up to be pregnant anyway (and maybe that was even -part- of what Jenner told Rick) but that being the entirety of the "big secret" would just be majorly anti-climactic to say the least. -
Quote:While I agree it's very debatable what Avatea meant by "become even more powerful and ascend even higher on the Incarnate path" I tend to think if Issue 21.5 was going to be unlocking any of the higher Incarnate slots that would have been specifically mentioned as a key feature.I'm doubtful there will be a "fifth tier" of abilities. I think it's possible they'll open up two new incarnate slots, like hybrid or genesis.
Let's face it: If Issue 21.5 was going to be giving us "brand new abilities for your Alpha, Destiny, Interface and Judgment Incarnate Slots" AND unlocking any of the higher Incarnate slots at the same time which of those two things would likely be more important to most people? I tend to think unlocking any of the higher Incarnate slots would make getting more options for the current slots pale in comparison.
Issue 21.5 might be unlocking some of the higher Incarnate slots. But based on what little we've been told I would tend to guess against that. -
They've shown a number of "dead but not zombied" bodies in this show so far and at least several of them were obvious suicides. But there's also been plenty of cases of "normal" dead people just lying around. For instance during the very first episode when Rick stumbled out of the hospital there was a bunch of bodies covered by sheets in what was probably a temporary morgue.
I think what we'll find out is that the zombie virus does different things to different people depending on how infected they are. I'm guessing that most people in the world have been exposed to it to some degree. There may be some people who are completely immune to it regardless of exposure. Other people were directly killed by it but it wasn't concentrated enough in those cases to reanimate them. Finally still others got enough of the virus to get fully killed/reanimated. This could explain why some normal people (like Andrea's sister) could stay normal until they are attacked by a zombie and get super-infected. This also matches up to the "randomness" of infection Dr. Jenner described.
Hopefully the story will offer a "logical" reason for why different people are affected differently. -
Yeah that "glitch" has been there at least since Issue 21 went live.
I figure it'll be fixed by the time the 4th SSA is actually released. -

Quote:Well in the spirit of compromise I would freely admit that I could have written that post better as you suggested. But still it struck me very odd that you brought up a point that I myself made in the same post. For what it's worth I'm sorry I called you out on it. Better luck next time. You can thank Facebook and Twitter for the degeneration of paragraphs into one sentence or less.

Quote:If a paragraph that's only FIVE lines long is now considered a "Wall of Text" then I feel sad for the general state of reading and writing today. If you're going to take the minute or two to respond to someone then at least invest the few seconds it would take to actually fully understand what you're responding to.Do I have the time or sanity to sit and read every single post? No.
I assume that the argument is mostly established in the opening sentences of a paragraph and that thoughts would be separated into individual paragraphs

So, in the future, separate your thoughts into separate paragraphs so that they read as:The thing that bothered me about Andrea's gun was that you'd think she'd know at least a little bit about how it worked and how to put it back together already. Sure I don't expect her to be super-SWAT trained solider, but still if her father gave her that gun you'd think at some point she would have learned the absolute basics about it. It just struck me as odd that she'd be completely clueless when it was already established that she and her sister spent a lot of time with their father camping, fishing and doing other outdoorsy things.
That way people don't assume your entire paragraph is about one thought and just skip to respond after the first few sentences.
Of course they did establish that she didn't even know about the safety on that gun in the first season so it seems like the writers can't decide if she's completely clueless in this area or not.
Wall of Text = BAD -
Quote:The COMPLETE paragraph you were commenting on:Spoilaaaah
Remember in Season 1? When she met Rick for the first time and pointed the gun in his face? He told her afterwards she had left the safety on. She's had the gun, but apparently has never used it or learned how to use it.
Do people not bother to read complete posts anymore? I literally mentioned the "trigger safety" scene in the very same paragraph you decided to comment on.Quote:The thing that bothered me about Andrea's gun was that you'd think she'd know at least a little bit about how it worked and how to put it back together already. Quote:It "should" be whatever the Devs think will make them the most money. My guess is that there are still currently enough people buying them at the $10 price point because if no one was buying them they would have permanently lowered the price already. *shrugs*$10 is just way, way, way too much money for a costume slot, even if it is account wide. It should be $5.00.
As I previously mentioned in this thread I fully expect the price for the costume slots to be lowered eventually. It's just a matter of how long you want to wait for that. -
I parked my badgers up on the roof of the hospital right above where the explore badge was. And just to state the obvious I did that First Ward Day Job badge first because it was the farthest from the entrance to the zone. Now I'm done with it so I don't have to spend the time traveling all the way out there anymore.

Quote:I think it's safe to say it works in whatever [insert-impossible-in-real-life-reason-here] way it needs to in order for the story to work. The "rules" for how zombies work in this show don't have to match any other story or franchise out there. The Walking Dead zombie plague is odd. Although they postulated that it was a virus or bacteria at the end of last season, it doesn't seem very much like one. No infection is going to reanimate completely dead bodies like this one does.
I haven't read the comic books, but I've heard that they eventually explain the plague as something supernatural. So I wouldn't expect it to follow the infected zombie rules.
I suspect whatever Dr. Jenner whispered to Rick at the end of the first season is a major clue, and sooner or later the show will reveal that clue to the audience.

Quote:I'm not really for or against a "fifth tier" concept myself - I'm just engaging in some idle speculation. For all we know the Alpha slot alone might get a fifth tier while the other 4 might get new options like the Lore pets did. It'd be sort of a "mixture" of new features. *shrugs*I don't think it will be tier 5s, because the Lore slot is specifically excluded. I think we'll just see a wider variety of choices for the slots listed, and the "Ascend to higher levels" is just over-excited marketing copy. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, via either T5s or new slots unlocking, but I'm keeping expectations low.

Quote:It's already been suggested in this thread that what we may be getting for the currently unlocked slots is a new 5th tier. Something like that could be considered (in vague Devspeak) to be giving use something to "ascend higher to" without having to unlock the remaining slots yet. Then I don't see how we can "ascend even higher". Why release a much more powerful alpha slot and make it a " must have", thus invalidating the old ones.
It's also possible that they remain very vague so that they don't promise the next slots and can't deliver them if something unexpected happens at the last minute... -
Quote:Yes I think that'd be wishful thinking at this point. It seems pretty clear that all we are getting are more options in the slots we already have. If this Issue was unlocking any of the last 5 slots I think that would have been made pretty obvious.the way I read this was : We are releasing some of the slots above lore and destiny...Wishful thinking?
The last incarnate slots are apparently being saved for later.

Sure I can understand that kind of thing. I guess I'm just looking at a more "big picture" view of the matter. There have literally been dozens of other "broken" items that have been fixed over the years. YMMV of course.
-
Quote:Two quick points:Yeah, I'll probably pick up 3-4 pieces, but I just can't see picking up the entire pack when I know I have no character to go with them and likely never will.
1) As far back as I recall there have been some release bugs associated with just about every costume pack this game has ever released. Not suggesting that's a "good" thing per se but the Devs have always been relatively good at getting a majority of those bugs fixed in short order so I wouldn't necessarily hold off a purchase for that account.
2) The entire "Monster Pack" only costs 400 points while buying the items individually adds up to roughly twice that amount. Basically if you ever plan to get more than like 1 or 2 items from this it's probably more worthwhile to just buy the pack outright.
Have fun either way.

It makes some sense that this may be setting the stage to unlock some of the higher slots in Issue 22.
