  1. As someone who's business relies on recurring subscriptions I can tell you the people that started with your business and stayed throughout are the most cherished people in the world! Some purchased lifetime memberships. NCSoft offered that and it helped them greatly at the beginning. I did not. Which means I've paid the fee every month for over 6 years straight. I'm not going to do the math* but that is an ENORMOUS amount of money to get from one customer. If you're in business, people like that are your best friends. I have no complaints. I stayed with the game because they have consistently entertained me. They keep adding stuff that makes me want to continue. But it also means heaping love on such people is not only nice, it's demanded by common sense.

I get the idea that they may be struggling to come up with new rewards. I think it may be time to ask the community what they think a great vet reward would be. Possibly have people send an email with ideas. If it's an open forum an idea that is unwise might get extremely popular and people could get upset if it doesn't happen. So just solicit ideas directly to a special email.
To put my money where my mouth is, which I'm obviously willing to do...
Who doesn't LOVE selecting their permanent/temporary powers? Before you force us to take Ghost Slaying axe, lets add a new collection of powers to choose from. While looking at the game's loading screen for the millionth time I noticed Statesman's utility belt. What if you could choose one of maybe four items from his belt if you start a hero... one from Recluse's if a villain and one from Cole's for praetorian. Each set would do the same basic stuff but with a slightly different flavor. Powers may include:
    1) A life sign detector. Like what you see when only 3 targets are left on the map, but you can turn it on whenever, showing all mobs. Recharge one hour.
    2) Teammate recall beacon. Like assemble team but for one team mate or pet. Recharges in 5 minutes. Pet pathing has improved greatly but they still get stuck. It's infuriating to have to take tp friend for what is a glitch in the game. (or respawn). Plus it would also just be nice to have for teams. Recharge 5 minutes.
    3) Hologram Generator. Makes a copy of your character with the same threat level. Basically halving the number of attacks coming your way. Lasts 5 minutes. Recharge 2 hours.
    4) "Drop em!" With the authority vested in me by "X". Spawns in the area 'holster' all weapons (attacks) except brawl. Takes them 30 seconds to realize they don't need to drop their weapons just because an authority figure told them to! (heh heh) Physical item could be a badge. Recharge 1 hour.

Just some ideas. I'm sure their are a million excellent reasons for not making each of those powers available. But I got you thinking didn't I? Not much development work should also be kept in mind. And PvP... make them not work in that. I don't care. I don't do PvP.

So... in short. Great Vet rewards are absolutely necessary. Get some great ideas from the community. *And FINE, I did the math. 75 times $15 is $1125. Not to mention the second account I started about a year and half in. Lot's of money. No regrets. Purchased every add on as well. I am a "Super Customer". Deny me nothing!!!

    Ninja Run??

It's been said but I'll say it again Prestige Power "Slide" is not a vet reward. You get other versions of sprint with the sparkles and such. Same running animation though. Only that one way to get the "slide". Which I would love. By buddy has it and he knows the fact that I can't buy it bugs the heck out of me. Heh heh.
  3. THANKS! That must be it! I had no idea Brutes had a permanent "punch me" face on. Good to know. I guess with that character I'll have to just zip through quickly when that is my intention. And never underestimate a person's ability to be stupid! I've left an aggro field on and been surprised when the mobs spotted me before. Human nature. Tanks don't have that though eh? Interesting. And a little disappointing too. (The fact brutes have it. When you don't want it.)
  4. Thanks. A lot of info, some right, some wrong. But at least I know I'm not an idiot for being confused. I track flight speed, running speed, and PvE stealth radius when I play. I just like knowing that stuff. As far as THOSE numbers are concerned, the layering of stealth is still in game. If you zone three times getting to your mission, you have a 90' stealth radius. Three times base 30'. Even if those numbers are wrong, regular stealth plus sprint based stealth is 60'. I'm well aware of which mobs can see through invis. Not talking about them. I'm talking about skulls, warriors, CoT... all of em. If you stand relatively close to them they start shooting. And I don't have an PBAoE shield or anything on. I realize how newbish this entire question is but I am a 72 month vet. MY STEALTH/INVIS AIN'T WORKIN' LIKE IT'S SPOSED TAH! DAGNABIT!!
Thanks again for all your input though! Nice!
  5. I put Celerity Stealth on two characters and with outright stealth or temp power stealth it's well within invisibility range. But I've had many foes shoot at me if I linger near them for a micro second. Has there been a change to stealth/invisibility and I just can't find it anywhere? Isn't anything over 55ft stealth radius PvE invisibility? This happens when I'm at 60, 90, or even 120ft stealth. Thank you for your kind consideration.

    Ninja Run??

Ninja Run with Inertia Reduction is a blast! I fire it off and tell anyone locally if they have Ninja Run, try it now with Inertia Reduction. Crazy people jumping all over the place. It's magic!
  7. I really wish they wouldn't do that. I love the game of course. And only post when I complain (human nature). So now that's two NinjaJump = NinjaLeap. PodPerson = EnergyMorph. They have to know that those of us that key bind costume changes would want to be able to just type it in, yet they do that anyway. It can't be a mistake. It's like a poke in the eye of those of us that buy everything they put out. I don't understand the rationale. Maybe they think forcing us to search the forums is a fun adventure.

Gimmie more booster packs so I can give you more money. And quit being silly please.
  8. I had an advertising idea for CoX quite a while ago. Advertising Partnerships. Ads in game help CoX and the advertiser. But how could advertising help the player directly? Enter into advertising agreements with companies where they not only pay for face time with your customers but also to produce new content.
    Example: Enterprise Rent a Car
A fun, detailed and elaborate story arc, at the end of which you get a car temp power that you can drive around on the streets. Players could choose to do the arc or not. If they really like it, the player will have a positive view of the company advertising.
Add to that, a cross promotion where they put pamphlets at their terminals with info and directions on how to find the game and the story arc.
Some people hate advertising no matter what. You'll never win them over. But most people are open minded and would love advertising that actually makes the game more fun!
  9. Thanks! You helped me too. I've wanted it on several characters. Backflip wasn't cutting it.
  10. Nicely done and greatly appreciated. Like everyone else I want to shill for my current favorite... Earth. (I have ill/ff 50). I'm a veteran from the beginning so I have three vet attacks. The negative def of all the earth powers means I'm 95% to hit with them and everything else. Stone pet hits almost everytime as well. On a long kill -def is priceless. Thanks again and good work/fun!
  11. In case it wasn't immediately obvious to some. I'm being silly for entertainment purposes only. And if you don't find my rant entertaining... you're wrong!
  12. I know what you're thinking. Sitting there... looking at all the Issue 14 information... "Boy! Wait till I get my hands on this! My missions are going to be SO AWESOME people will LOVE THEM! Now is my time to shine!"
I know you're thinking that. But you're wrong. MY MISSIONS WILL BE AWESOME! IT'S MY TIME TO SHINE!!! My missions, story arcs, criminal groups, dialogue, etc. will make yours look like doo doo!!!
    MWAA HAAA HAAA HAAA HAAA!
Of course this is just my opinion and you can disagree. But you're wrong again!
  13. Putting myself in Lighthouse's postition, this thread would be the one I would be sure to read. So I'll add my well wishes. Make the page counter go to 100! You seemed like a nice guy that truly wanted to fill people in as much as possible given understandable constraints. As I look back at my life I'm rather amazed at how often ending a job or some other catastrophic change turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. Something tells me you know that to be true as well. Good luck to you, however I don't think you'll need it.
