Elizabeth read the document carefully, not used to being surprised... "...south west of Mauritius it says here... Isn't that South of South Africa? When I was at the Council of X meeting in Nairobi, Kenya back in 2006 I remember hearing from the local vampire lord Melisizwe that he managed to remove most of the local shamans, houngans named there. And that they fled across sea to the south. I wouldn't be much surprised to find them on islands in this area."
"Aside of that I don't know of this desolated place. It doesn't sound like high society, and I hate jungle. I hope we can bring some comfort and style to this island if we are going to use it as outpost?"
"But an idiot like this general seems easily controlled..." -
"I know of the enchantments... I have my castle protected with the same...", Elizabeth replies. "They will suffice..."
-
ha.. I made an account on militia.. but its still waiting approvement.. and is inactive...
Someone kick the admin 's butt in high gear -
Elizabeth stood up with a determined and slightly irritated face. "I wholeheartly agree on this. I want to add that the location of our future meetings also changes frequently. To enhance that same security and to remove any position of power that comes from being our host."
"Not that I doubt the intentions of our current hostess...", Elizabeth pauzed for a second... "...involving this alliance..."
"Let all who agree on these two proposals say 'Aye!', as they are essential for this alliance to work.", she says while leaning with her hands on the table.
"That said, I offer my home in Cap Au Diable as location for our next meeting!" Elizabeth looks at the robot... "At least no unchecked robots will be able to enter there. It has less open windows for instance!" And with that word she sat down again, wearing a wicked smile showing both her fangs clearly. -
Ok.. stuff that happens in-game.. I always make logs and can show them up here too...
Do I do that? And where and how? -
Elizabeth looked at this action with fire in her eyes... "HepRxa!", she mumbles softly to herself.
*The ****! (Only for those who understand Russian) -
Elizabeth landed at the corner of the mansion, taking her human form again. Slowly she walked up to the door. Both the guards looked at her with some suspicion. "The countess Báthory, I am invited...", she said to them. Knowing full well that with her previous entrance she never passed these men.
"Ofcourse mylady.", said the first man... stepping aside to let her pass, while instinctivly staring a few seconds at her legs. "You like what you see, young man?", Elizabeth asked. While the second doorman already took a step back. "ehh... sorry mylady... it will not happen again.", he stumbled sweating. "It's oke...", Elizabeth comforts him while laying her hand on his cheek and kissing him... Directly followed by ripping open the young doorman's face with her claws leaving three long deep scarring wounds.
While licking the blood from her nails she enters the room... With a small gesture she greets Alicia Barzini. "I say good evening!", "and ofcourse to you too.", noticing Romanov and Erebus sitting at their former spots. Her own place at the table again had an old wine bottle obviously filled with blood. A table servant already was filling up a glass for her.
Elizabeth sat down slowly and with grace. "Good to see you all again...", she said while lifting her glass looking around... staring a moment longer then normal into the eyes of Romanov. -
Cap Au Diable. Slowly dusk sets in over the city. The universaty is completly deserted and people are going home to have dinner with the family. Only a few streets from this place of higher learning stands a large house of several stories high. The gargoyle faces on the wall look grim and dead, just like the house itself. Most people try to avoid the place, and those who need to pass it do it fast. Although not known to many this is the home of the Countess Báthory Erzsébet and her infamous court of demons, vampires, ghosts, werewolves and the likes.
Beneath the building there are rooms larger then on the top floors. And here we find the countess herself... resting on a large stone tomb in her bathroom. The bath filled with blood... blood streaming from the veins of a dead woman hanging on the branch of a small tree next to it.
Holding a towel in front of her she is washing of the blood with water and drying her skin. Casually she picks up an ancient goblet and catches the last falling drops from the dead woman who, on closer look seems to be a longbow officer. Elizabeth empties the goblet and throws the towel aside walking up to a closet to get dressed in a small black dress. Carefully she picks up her blood-red amulet and hangs it around her neck.
Walking pass her desk she quicly checks some notes she made, and looks at the small pocket watch lying there... "Almost six I see, It's time!", she thinks to herself. Slowly she walks up the stairs, almost like gliding. Outside she looks up at the sky that starts to turn dark, clouds casually gliding in front of the moon but with very few wind.
"Good flying weather...", she thinks to herself. And with that thought her body begins to change... fangs grow... leather wings forming from her skin... A giant bat with fur the same color as the countess her hair flies towards Nerva... towards Sisarose Mansion... -
In this we have to assume simply that all religions excist in the game. The reason there isn't any proof in buildings (they simply forgot that the look of Moth cemetary would gave some away) is that they are afraid of the problems it would bring in law suits etc. Place a prominent churche and you will have to place a Moskue too... and a budhist temple and... They avoid those problems by removing all.
aside from that.. in fiction its almost standart to say that gods are as powerfull as the number of worshippers. Meaning even that without at least one worshipper the god would cease to excist. This is the safest way to go. If only a handfull people actually believe in Zeus, Zeus wouldn't be powerful enough to walk the Earth anymore.. or do any of those things he did in the Greek mythology.
Aside from that... having aliens around will make lots of people fall from their religios believe too... creating more atheist who would go-on and see Statesman as an alien or mutant with a disillusion that he thinks his powers come from a mythological god. As that is much more logical.
In real life... people are often only capable of believing that which they want (or can) believe. If an alien would walk over the highway telling everyone incl police he is from another planet he would be hold as lunatic or monstrous mutation. No-one would believe him. It would take much more then a single man saying his powers come from Zeus, to make people starting to believe Zeus excist. So the number of new worshippers for Zeus would increase but still be ridiculus low. Ergo... no temple and no problem for the other religions. -
During such an event every nation would try to gain power out of it in order to be stronger then its old enemy. Weaker countries will try to make alliances. Rich/strong countries like the USA would deffiantly try to copy the technology and keep for themselves.
Having an alien race invading will not remove all racism, hate and such in the world. That's is an utopia that is not gonne happen. It will give a common enemy to be dealt with, but that only last for the majority of that battle.
After that the human race will go on the same foot as before. And leaders would plan in advance...
In all of history arms dealers work best during wars and conflict. From every war someone will get rich. An alien invasion will not be any different. I am sure that between all the humans on earth there will be humans trying to betray the whole race by alliancing with the Rikti too. We done it before countless times, we will do again. -

And by-the-way.. I am one of those that uses a real historic character as a city of villains toon for roleplay.. and I noticed that having that has helped me in my roleplay. I have dates, places, family ... everything handed to me. Just needed to build on what I had using history.
If you read Liz her full bio you see she is interweaved into history after that.. she was a friend of Marie Antonette in Versailles, responsable for Jack the Ripper in Londen, and for the vampiric encounters in Rhode Island... letting her end up in Paragon City and eventually in the rogue Isles.
If that is wrong... attack every story that uses her, every Dracula movie you ever saw, attack the movie Braveheart, Highlander, Cleopatra, Rome, Prophecy, Indiana Jones, and millions of others.
psstt.. I also own (or made for a friend)... Pocahontas, Count Di Cagliostro, Vlad Tepesh Dracul and Marie Laveau. Look them up on wikipedia...

Edited due to sudden realisation that I may have been over-harsh.
Stripped of the hyperbole. You cannot say your Liz Bathory is a historical character and then pull in alsorts of spurious jockey-shorts about Marie Antoinette, Jack the Ripper etc. yes, the Countess was a real person. No she was not an immortal vampire. Nothing wrong with your version, it's just not a historical character.
[/ QUOTE ]
Edited... Liz is based upon a real historic person. I am not believing in the excistence of real vampires, sorcerers and/or demons.
I am interested in history, myth and urban legends. And this reflex in my created characters. I am actually a real down to earth guy.
to Ammon... applause... I completly agree with every single word you typed above.
Lets all be realistic. We roleplay as realistic possible within the cannon of the game Ciry of Heroes. If you can't seperate roleplay from reality... is it wise then to roleplay?
ps. independance Day was a good feel good movie. And if an invasion would strike for real we would probably work together... While the same leaders would allready be plotting how to come up as the ultimate winner from these events. That's reality... -

It's for me more the fact that others will sues the same thing but have a totally different take on it. so you get 10 different version of each of those things and it is a absurd looking mess, which is why i try to avoid such situations but it is the major down fall of such an ill described world.

I know... I met people who owned Elizabeth Bathory, Blood Countess and the likes... but never till now actually met the toon itself. In roleplay I just ignore they exist or tell myself that my name is so popular other killers and vampires started to use it to upp their reputation on my good.. ehem.. name. -
oh.. I am not saying that i don't agree on using a fictional country tailored made.. I actually am for that option.
For the same reasons you are all saying here.. the godmodding. But if it where only the members from LORD in the story, and we wouldn't have any links to the country used... it wouldnt do any harm at all.
As for bleed.. no issues there.. I would never do any of those things in RL. I totally think being influenced by movies or books and therefore becoming a murderer or something is totally rubbish... as every human is born with his own mind and will.
This thread is now blending with the 'playing a villain' as were asking ourselves now if we can actually roleplay those evil deeds a villain does that makes him a villain.
If I can't roleplay a murder in the most bloody and horrifying way possible, how can I roleplay a vampire of Liz her reputation then?
pstt.. I know how the countries in Africa work. I actually have been to a few of them. A lot of them already control corruption lots better these days. But there are still a few around that actually have another dictator every once in a while. It where those I referred to. Not Kenya, South Africa or Ethiopie... Just to name a few of the stabilized countries there. -

Were actually on a very easy thing here... Just needs working out.
In order to plan a take over or any real evil anywhere on the globe ingame, we need to establish something the game timeline isnt mentioning... How is the rest of the world aftr the first Rikti war... and how does it fare now?
As Paragon City is the biggest city left standing we can easily assume that the Rikti attacked much like the aliens from Independence Day.. all major cities at once. Meaning NY, Washington, Paris, Bejing, Tokyo, Cairo, Berlin, Sidney are all in ruins... building up like Paragon City after the war.
The smaller already corrupted countries will be the least hi by the Rikti as those countries arent a real threat to an invasion like that. Maybe they hit Baghdad, and Tel Aviv... but certainly Sierra Leone or Dominican Republic holds no interesse.
Those already corrupt countries would thrive under a chaos like that. Half of the tirans in Africa would take over and being themselves taken over in a period of 10 years.
So a made up country build on the same kind of political system would also be very fragile for a hostile take over if done by beings with powers and influence such as the LORD. Also.. a hostile takeover from beings like that will not follow any nomal rules. And if done right will not even be noticed by the people living in that country. They are already used to another dictator every month or so (as in real life people in for instance african countries are).
A different dictator will not change the price of a chicken... or a life of a farmer...
It would, for the story, be not any difference if we would make up a new country or use one of the smaller ones allready in chaos. Its roleplay and were not doing it for real. But the use of real known locations make much better stories.
If its in front of the Mexican coast (Rogue Isles) or in Rhode Island, USA (Paragon City), or in Paris, Bagdad or Timbuktu... it's a fictional story... -
and even if some where racist.. that should be possible.. As they are evil after all... you know.. EVIL!
-
I dont say the LORD are racist...
But they are control freaks... -
he... Nazi germany the arian german was much much better off too...
-
ok.. first of all we come here to the same prob as the how to rp a villain thread... what does a good Super villain do... and how to proceed in coming to that goal.
Writers of fiction will use real countries...
If we are making up a country or city it will be based on or placed in a real country. it needs to be for the look and feel. Either be an land like haiti, an african country, and asian country, or an islamic country.
The political atmosphere of the fictional place would be the same as the place it was based upon. And the things we would do to gain control.. even if just from behind the throne, would be just as bad.
We accept that, even though not always shown like that, Dr. Doom tortures and excecutes. He used mass destruction weapons to strike fear etc. And its obviously a central european country... largly based upon those country's that where in turmoil during the 60's.
If in RP these actions are not ok... then the whole ability to play a super villain is taken from us. The plot device we come up with is sounding so fitting because its what would work. It is thinking on a grand scale a super villain would do.
What do you think would happen if any of those zillions super villain plans of Red Skull, Dr. Doom etc. would have succeeded. A thing we as super villains expect. We dont plan to be stppped by heroes you know... -
We need to get together all in game to set up a chat channel between us. This too be able to communicate betweeen the members and such between the Villain groups and their coalitions.
That way we will be able to act as generals of a small army
It would also be cool having screenshots of us all to maybe use in-between the roleplay threads.
For those ingame tonight.. The Court of the blood countess always have a roleplame meeting every (freaky) friday at 19:00 GMT.
Borealis should see the lab setup there... in 1800-1900 tech style. hehehe -
Well.. Uebermensch, My lvl 37 Invuln/super str tanker still needs it.
So I will do my best to be there.. time mentioned is GMT I understand?
Expect this one to lest 4 hors... its a lot of missions... -
Totally agree with the fact that force bubbles should be made like they are solid... Th eabove ricocet animation or absorbed bullets would greatly enhance the look and feel of the set in total.
/signed
btw.. My defender only uses the ff powers that also buffs himself.. and further relies on the energy blasts and concealment set.. making him hard to kill at times.
Its just that it takes him long to wipe a villain from the map. Still the set is pretty nice. -
heeee... maybe we members should also start reading the open RP threads here carefully and see if we can influence some from the background... as it should be.
-
Well. as its in secret and the world is not supposed to notice we can use the real world and history... with only certain heroes / villains from Paragon City noticing it...
Anyway... Lots of RP will be in-game too... I will set Liz on Log... so it will be easy to transcribe in-game roleplay with her towards the forum if needed. -
"With this act I, the countess Báthory Erzsébet agrees to be part of this alliance!", Elizabeth proclaims while raising her blood-filled glass and emptying it.
"Let the world tremble..."
