Good...here's an act of me bidding you [censored] adieu.

Celtic: "I say good day to you, sir!"
Shadow_Song: "But Celtic..."
Celtic: "I SAID GOOD DAY!" -
[ QUOTE ]
I knew you would say that, but the thing is It is a different case because this product is not consumed.
I play one toon. I have the option of playing others, but it doesn't say anywhere I have too. There are many of us who play 1 toon. And as I said earlier I have all the event badges on this one toon. Were I to start another I would be missing even more badges.
I know missing badges may not be important to you but it is to me.
So my example stands. It may not be a technical "bug" but it is a lapse in design and customer service and it needs to be addressed.
I think what happened was the devs said, ah it's just one badge who will care? Not realizing all of us Yahoos take the game far to serious, and would really want it.
I think it would be a small unique fix and it could be as specific as only available to characters who started pre I2. SO people who ar lv 50 and or who have more than say 200 badges and started before I2 are just assumed to have goten it and awarded the badge. Bang easy fix. and to all the people who "forgot" well that is their fault isn't it?
That way there is little extra programing, and the laps in planning is fixed.
This is but one of many possible solutions, I am trying to demonstrate that I personaly am not necessarily for anyone getting the badge, more for those who couldn't but should have been able too.
Though at this point I would take anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know what? No. The last thing we need are the Dev's deciding not to add something just because a few people can't handle not being able to get something. -

YOu have a right to your opinions, you do not have the right to swear and yell at people who dissagree with you. Argue yes. Vent no.

I'll take the blame for the swearing...he did it much less than I did.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont' get why you guys are so mad about it. It is just one small thing that many people really want.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I can't speak for Liquid, I'm not mad at the suggestion, just that some people feel that they "deserve" something for being a customer, when in reality, you're paying for a service, and nothing more.
It would just be like if I were to go into McDonalds, ordered a cheese burger, and then claimed that I deserved fries with that for free. It's money out of their pocket, not helping them at all, and in fact hurting them, but it helps me because I get a dancing plethora of hot tasty french fries in my mouth screaming "Hallelujah". I ordered the cheeseburger, paid for the cheeseburger, and then I asked for more without any show for it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actualy no that is not what it is like. Here is what it actualy is like (from my view)
I have gone to the same Mcdonalds every days since it opened. I order a hamburger everyday and ask for cheese but they say they have none.
Then one day you come in and they offer you a cheese burger. I am next in line and ask if I can have cheese on my hamburger, but they say no because I have been coming to their store, spending money and suporting them for too long. SO I wont be able to get cheese on my burgers. Ever. Even though any new customers can.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, in this case it would be "So, I wont be able to get cheese on the burgers I already had. But, if I order a new, different burger, I could get cheese on THAT." -

[/ QUOTE ]
For one thing, it's never "One small thing". Once this is done, this opens the door for anyone to come in and claim such and such should be done because *they* never had a chance to do it (Such as the Calvin Scott TF), all with the excuse of "Well, they did it THAT time, so they should do it THIS time too". In other words, once you do it for one person or group, you have to do it for everyone ELSE too. And in the end, it just defeats the whole purpose of having "special" badges in the first place. -
And don't forget how the patch notes are *still* buggard.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Uhm I wasn't trying for insulting when I said Fanboi. It is just well known on the forums that that is what you guys are and Friggin taser. No offense that's just the way it is.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not a "fanboi". I'd have the exact same stance if this was WoW, EQ2, or even Horizons (A game I loathe). A "Fanboi" is a person who blindly defends the Dev's ragardless of what they do. I, myself, dislike (and have stated my dislike in the past) several things the Dev's have done in the past. (Like selling the Hero Gear kit, the repetitious nature of Task Forces, and the stated intent to give players of CoV access to the Pre-Order helmets without having actually pre-ordered the game).
"Fanboi" is just a convenient little title you decided to label me with simply because it gives you an easy way to dismiss my opinions.
[ QUOTE ]
I gave a good reason. It was a mistake on the devs part and I want it fixed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not a good reason, as there was no mistake here. It didn't exist before Issue 2, and there was no bug preventing you from getting it.
[ QUOTE ]
I don't care that you guys dissagree with my suggestion or anyone elses. What I object to is that this forum is specificaly for suggestions, not to debate their merit. It is not up to either of you. (or me for that matter)
I also object to your undeserved hostility and language. You don't like the idea. OK pipe in. But be nice.
I know this idea gets repeated a lot but if you are tired of seeing it don't read it.
If you are dead set against it write a thread that says so. But don't get mad because someone wants it that is just sily.
You guys are just making yourselves look bad for no reason. Relax.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your right. It's not up to you, or me. It's up to the Dev's. And I have every right to post a counterargument in a thread to disagree with an idea that I don't like. If you don't like that, Bite me. I'm tired of dealing with people who use the same, tired old excuses of "Because I'm a paying customer" or "It's punishing the loyal customers if you don't make the changes I want!"
I hear enough of that s**t at work, and I'm getting damn tired of hearing it here, too. -
[ QUOTE ]
Liquidx and celtic.
YOu guys need to chill. This forum is for suggestions and ideas you dont like 'em? Tough.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if you don't like the fact that I hate your suggestion and idea, tough.
[ QUOTE ]
At the very least show some respect.
It is great that you fanbois are getting everything you want but that does not mean others don't want change. Just because YOU don't like the changes we are asking for does not diminish there worth.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah. Easy to call me a Fanboi just because you don't like the fact that I disagree with you.
[ QUOTE ]
Who is to say what is more important to whom? Badges are important to me so I am asking for change. If something else is important to you ask for that. But show respect.
[/ QUOTE ]
And its more important to me that the Isolator badge be left as is. Even if I can't go back and get it with my main (Who doesen't have it).
[ QUOTE ]
It's funny that neither of you can present actual arguments as to why someone who has supported this game from the beginning shouldn't be aloud to get a chance at the Isolator badge. YOu just make with personal attacks in a forum meant for creative discussion. Good Job!
Everyone knows that you have lost the argument when all you can do is throw insults.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its funny that you have given no better reason then "I WANT IT I WANT IT! ZOMG THOSE MEAN DEV'S WONT LET ME HAVE A TOY I WANT! HOW DARE THEY PUNISH ME FOR BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER BY NOT BENDING OVER BACKWORDS FOR EVERY STUPID WHIM I HAVE?!?"
Good job! -
[ QUOTE ]
I did not miss a badge because I was not playing this game when those badges were awarded. (Like the holiday badges)
I missed getting a badge because I was a loyal customer and played and supported this game from the very beginning.
To me that is a huge difference. Customers should be rewarded for staying with a game and not punished.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know what? I'm getting very sick of people using this half-[censored] excuse to justify every single change or demand they have. As a "Loyal Customer" you have already been able to get several rewards new players do not have the chance to get. They don't get the chance to get the seasonal badges. They dont get to get the celebrant badge. They don't get to do the Task Force that was removed from the game. So don't give me this "Loyal customers are being punished" bullsh*t that you people love to push down everyones fricken throat. Because your *not*. -
[ QUOTE ]
BECAUSE. we (I) was never given the chance to get it. I play one toon. I was 50 before I2 and I still play him everyday. I have 315 badges. and the ONLY reason I don't have Isolator is because it did not exist when I started after beta.
Not only that but I DID kill well over 100 contaminated, because we were just learning about the game at the time and it was fun; But because they weren't tracking kills back then I still don't get the badge, even though technicaly I DID EARN IT.
That is why we need something (at the very least for any toon started before I2) to allow us the chance to get that badge.
You may not understand why it is important to us. You may not understand why we dont just roll up another badge toon (though personaly it is because I wouldn't have any of the holiday badges if I did)
But just because you don't get it is no reason to deny it to us.
[/ QUOTE ]
So whats to keep someone from signing onto the game right now, and then demanding that there should be a way for them to get things like the Celebrant Badge, the Halloween Badges, or all the Winterlord badges? *THEY* never knew about them, and *they* never had the chance to get them...
This is the same deal for Isolator. It is a special badge. It should *NOT* be made available any other way. It should not be available through Flashback. There should not be a special mission added just so people can go get it. -

[ QUOTE ]
I'm with you Emerald....the badge should be avaible elsewhere...why because 99% of new people don't know about the badge and by the time they do it's too late. As for the logic it's just another badge....well the same would hold logic to a coin collector because to people who couldn't care less about coins it's just another coin. To the collector on the other hand...it may only be worth a penny, but to them it's their most prized possesion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except where your logic fails is that, with a coin collector, if a single coin was out of production, and then went back into production, its value would drastically decrease.
The same goes with Isolator...by making it attainable by someone who was part of beta, and on their first character, then the value of Isolator decreases. Just roll up a new badge [censored] and get it...
[/ QUOTE ]
But we want it on our MAIN badge [censored]. Why is that so hard to understand? Why is it that just because you don't care about getting Isolator you think we shouldn't be allowed to get it?
[/ QUOTE ]
And why is it so hard for YOU to understand that if you don't fullfill the requirements to get the badge (Even if you had no way of doing so previously) that you should *NOT* be able to get the badge, or be able to go back and get it?
Y'know, I am getting so [censored] tired of people wanting to whine or twist the system just so they can get their way. Get the [censored] over it. -
Y'know, I wasn't going to jump on the Bandwagon, but then I thought of this and had to do it.

I get the feeling the Freedom Phalanx missions are going to be popular with teams in a way the Praetorians never were. It's certain to be much easier to find a team to whoop up the actual Positron than it is to get help with Anti-Matter.

I have good money that says as soon as you can fight Statesman in-game, grouping will go through the roof as everyone that's pi$$ed off with Jack on the forums will want to vent their anger on him. -
Y'know, Its kind of amusing though...
A Redname did something, the players protested it, and yet the protestors *didn't* get beamed into deep space! -
[ QUOTE ]
I play different ATs because they play differently. Who has what power set only matters to me when it starts to [censored] over my ability to play the characters I want to RP... which is quite a long list considering I have a year+ of "Oh that is goo... oh wait.. right.. exclusive power sets.. and this character wouldn't suit x AT.".
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, there are certain powersets I wouldn't mind seeing on other AT's as well. (Like Broadswords for Tanks). But I can fully understand why they want to keep some powers unique for an AT. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Besides... I can understand the view. Sure, I think some of the sets could be spread around a little more, but I also *like* having certain sets that are only available on one specific AT.
[/ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ]
Lets put it this way, Kitty...
Take CoH and CoV. Would you be content with CoV if all it was was simply a few graphical changes from CoH? There *needs* to be things that are unique between the two, simply so people don't get that "More of the same" feeling. This is the same thing with Powersets. Simply changing a few numbers is not sufficient. There *needs* to be powersets that are unique to that AT. -
Besides... I can understand the view. Sure, I think some of the sets could be spread around a little more, but I also *like* having certain sets that are only available on one specific AT.
-
[ QUOTE ]
What really gets me is that sharing more sets would produce almost instantanious content. You change a few numbers around for balance then ship the set over. No time spent on power animations. No time spent up thinking how whole power sets should function. You change the numbers.. ship it.. BAM! Instant new toys to play with. How many new powerset combos would you get if you added only ONE set to scrappers? How about tanks? I think broadsword would fit them. Big and slow.. and a nice alternative to that ugly axe.
It would be the easiest way in the world to produce content.. why not do it?!
[/ QUOTE ]
Because its *never* as easy as "Changing a few numbers"?
