Quote:I liked both so I don't mind either way, I'm happy to color the logo as well, any colors you'd like it to be? or any way you'd like it to look?I like the logo a lot. ^_^ The one with Earth on it.
Blu, can you get me a banner like the one under your char picture that has the SG name as well as the logo behind it. It'll replace the current header of the website.
The SG will be called: U.G.F. Earth Detachment
SG will be up tomorrow, please keep an eye on the website forums for details.

I'd still like to get a song that fits the theme for the home page of the website. -

Feedback it is!
First... welcome to the life of an artist!
I'm wondering, what tools and programs do you use for (digital) drawing?
Now... feedback! Welcome to lesson one where we will discuss.... hair! *giggles*
You mentioned you wished the hair didn't look so flat when you draw it.
It appears that you are tempted to draw hair as close to the skull as possible, which makes it look flat because volume is missing. (don't worry, it's quite common to do so, it took me long enough to figure the hair out)
Try to make more round lines around the head. That should bring some volume into the hair.
Also try to imagine where the hair is going and add shades where the hair is falling to the back.
(I really don't know how to explain this...so let me take your drawing of Dee as an example. Take a look at the piccie and look for the shades along jaw lines, I also added some round lines for the volume). This brings more depth into the hair which also helps to unflatten it.
I also want to mention (I don't know if you do or don't) that using references is very helpful and nothing to be ashamed of!
(oddly some artists think it is and some find using references is cheating (unless you're directly painting over them), it really isn't! Well... that's my opinion anyway.
I hope my feedback helps! If you have questions...please, fire away!
Dee! thanks!. I actually understand what you mean! yay, i thought it would be something that would go right over my head but i do understand what you mean, I tend to use references but i never thought of using them for hair (silly me!)
Oh and I use Painttool Sai buuuuut I just pinched Photoshop off of my boyfriends brother so I might play around with that tomorrow :3.
and again, thank you for taking the time to explain this too me i never guess people could be bothered helping out!
If I could ask one thing, after peeking on your D.A Site I came across your digital piccy of Darth and Mike and I'm wondering how do you get your coloring to look so smooth? like it doesn't look like color smacked on. Do you use specific brushes? or is it just lots of shading or what? :3 -

Quote:OKay. XD I need to get this off my chest.
You're not suppose to have ANY patterns on the pants. They're suppose to be just plain black.
Also, I've been sick so couldn't get on lately. So Gromgar is only lv.7. Give me like...20 or 30 minutes. ^_^
Hlaalu is only 7 as well and she has the sharp pattern on the pants but I can get rid of that.
whats your input on the logo almighty leader <.< >.>
oh and Blue, Tranon looks awweesssomme. I wish you could put the barbarian chest strap thing on girls >.< -
-
My attempt at Darth Delicious. I got a little impatient with the coloring cause it's late and I wanna go to sleep :/ but i think she came out okay..if only i could manage to make hair not look flat when i draw. oh wowisme, hopefully D.D likes it though :X -

I'm Australian time but I work nights sooooo I'm free all of US evening times.
also I put it on the SG website but what do you think about this as a logo?
obviously we cant have it in game but i saw on the site you wanted something similar to Mass Effect Alliance symbol -
I was just messing around trying to get a chrome-metal look before i attempted a logo but what do you guys think of this?
-
Well I have just created mine. Her name is Hlaalu Zh'Varssa and my global is @Miekachu so if anyone would like to team up sometime hit me up, i'm really interested.
-
-
There you go Caemgen, just a quicky because I'm supposed to be doing my ethics essay..<.< >.> -
I would actually really be interested in this, I think I'll try to make a character up today/tonight and post it in here for you to see.
and here she is. Hlaaluaeo'siya (Hlaalu for short)Zh'Varssa - Xumak Alien (beam rifle/electric blaster)

ha ha, got ya
.
Well I suppose there is some truth to the title. I love collecting art, who doesn't?. I recently got my first commission with a character of mine and a character of someone else's and it's made me want to get more. I've been thinking ooh maybe I should make people work for it, but I don't wanna do that. I just want to include someone's character in a piece of art with mine.
So I thought I'd offer it to the forumfolk of city of heroes and anyone who is interest just pop up a picture of your character with their name and when I get a handful or so of people I'm gonna stick the names in a hat and pull one out at random and that person get's some free art
how's that sound?. good? okay now..go! -
-
I'm not the best artist and I know I have soo much room to improve but I'm kind of proud of this piece soooooooo here was my attempt at my hero on the exalted server Timehack
-
So I have a new hero concept idea. Grafitti Girl, a reformed villain who is capable of bringing something to life by painting it, for example if she were to spray paint a sword onto the ground, she could pick up the sword. if she were to spraypaint a wall, a wall would pop up.
Obviously I can't have this power IN game but what kind of powers do you think would suit? I figured maybe something that looks like spray paint or maybe i should make her a melee character with weapons she's forged..but idk.
what do people suggest? -
oh that schoolyard flirtation! *steals lunch to show how much I like you*

Quote:That's pretty much how I am at this moment. I'll speech in character when spoken to in character and not when not. I've been trying to be more in character lately but it can be a little strange. My character Bee Hive came from a rather wealthy home and until she sprouted wings she was daddy's little girl so when she went into the sewers with a bunch of fellow heroes the first thing she obviously did was complain about the muck on her pretty hero shoes and the smell. ...Everyone seemed to think I was a wacko buuuuuut that brief second of in character-ness made me remember why i love rp and love city of heroes. I think I'll keep being In Character till I find someone(s) who'll play back.Wow, you've just cured me of ever wanting to "seriously" role play on-line. lol. i'll stick with one-liners in character and trying to personify a hero and/or villain doing super things.
here's my 2 inf, which after being discounted may in fact be worth much less than 1 inf:
I been roleplaying a very very long time. Ever since D&D. *note, did not say "A D&D" I love the City of X. I love making characters, costumes, backstories. If someone walks up to me and says something even halfway resembling something an actual hero/villain would say in that situation I will always reply back "in character voice." I like my characters. If you talk to them, they talk back. However, as often happens in the cities, whether it be just LFT broadcasts, brother can you spare 1 mil inf, is your team leader running AE, or a thousand other "in-game" questions that arise, I just answer. Not really in character, because questions like "How do i put this up for auction" is not something my Robot/demon/vampire/martial artist is aware is even going on.
But if you come up to me and start talking "in character" you are guaranteed to get "in character" responses. I will specifically not treat you as crazy. If you try ERP then it may get weird, but I will remain in character. Most of my city of X characters have E as very low on their priority list. But i will remain in character for the whole jaunt.
I wonder how many other individuals in the city this is true of. Sure, some will never "get it", or just do not want to RP. But a lot of us are just standing there, ready to be interacted with in character. Like a super theme park come to life.
I may start specifically start trying to only speak in character for a few weeks, just to see how many go along. Haters will hate, clueless will be....well, clueless. So what? I paid my nickle, and there's always that guy in red tights standing across the street to talk to.
If not I might have to switch to redside and force it out of people *evil glare*
