  1. The things I'm finding most frustrating are the paltry options for placing where things spawn. Like, if I use the RWZ Portal room, I want the AV to spawn right there in the center platform. I want an AV to be an ambush and not merely an enemy group.

I avoid open air maps as best I can for that reason (even though the arc/TF I'm working on now has outdoor maps for three of five missions).
  2. That stupid map -- Atta and that one Mercedes Shelton warrior mission -- is just about the most obnoxious in the game. Not only is it ridiculously long, it's a cavern which is renowned for walls that capture mobs.
  3. I have no problem with defeat alls if they have a story reason, but they're still more tiresome than non-defeat-alls. Also, a defeat all in a Casino is a different animal than a defeat all in the RWZ portal room unique or (were it available -- is it?) the Atta map.

If everyone uses this criteria, very, very few arcs are ever going to make it in to Hall of Fame.

Would it really be a Hall of Fame if that weren't the case, though?

I just have a skewed bell curve view of ratings where most things would be 3s and 4s (although I'm only likely to actually rate the 4s), where 1s, 2s, and 5s are the exceptions, not the rule.

Whoever said it is right, maybe the rating system was the bad idea of MA, because there is just no objective standard. It's hard enough to get people to even apply an objective standard the same way -- go back to the "hanging chad" debacle, for instance, where objective criteria were laid out and you still couldn't get two people to agree what they were looking at. The ratings for MA have a totally subjective standard, and therefore become almost meaningless.
  5. Viv, I will play your arc later when I take a break.

I approach the star rating where I consider 4 to be the "this was very fun and made sense and wasn't completely impossible (with no fair warning)" rating, and 5 is just if something completely knocked me over with awesomeness and felt like it could be something the Devs had done as part of a zone redesign (like the Faultline or RWZ arcs).

Other than that, though, I really don't rate things with lower stars, unless I think it was legitimate screwed up. If it was just perhaps somewhat uncreative or uninspired, I always think "y'know, a 10 year old might have made this", and then I just don't rate it or leave a comment instead.

This entire thread makes me sad. Everyone is of course entitled to his or her own opinions and to state them publically if he/she chooses. However, I feel this thread is going to cause nothing but hard feelings for people who have put a lot of thought and effort into their work. Also, it is going to discourage people from playing certain arcs... oh it was only given a 2?!? I'll skip that one. I'd much rather see in depth critiques delivered to each person rather than in such a public way.

I'm sure other people feel this way, but I will probably be the only one to voice this. As a last thought, don't play my arc please, you won't like it.

Even negative feedback is feedback. I'm pretty sure nobody's even played my arc, or at least nobody rated it if they did
  7. I published my first arc a while back but since nobody has reviewed it, I figured I should post about it --

    Arc Name: The WanderLust Conundrum
    Arc ID: 58128
    Alignment: Heroic
    Creator: @LifeGuardian
Difficulty: Should be a legitimate challenge solo or on team, multiple EBs/AVs.
Synopsis: Lord Recluse is taking a sudden interest in Kheldians, raiding Paragon City for information about them. Heroes need to investigate when Sunstorm learns that Kheldians all over the city are going missing.
Playing Time: About 45 minutes to an hour solo?
  8. Purple prices seem stable, and the PvP IOs are incredibly expensive. You could almost slot 5 Hetacombs for the price of one PvP +Def IO.
  9. Eagle's Claw was changed to a 100% mag 3 stun, wasn't it? So that would be something that can pair with Cobra Strike to stun bosses. That said, Cobra Strike still needs more damage for its recharge.
  10. I haven't even used the power, but my own idea would actually be 4 Touch of the Nictus -- mix of accuracy, healing, and recharge to your preference -- and two damage IOs. That way you get bonus for 5% more heal to it.
  11. It all sounds great -- I'm thinking both Shield/SS and MA/Shields as options for alts. Possibly even a Pain Domination villain.

But... conspicuously absent from this announcement is any mention of further powerset proliferation. Does that mean there simply won't be any this time? I hope that's not the case, since the talk leading up to the Issue 12 release definitely made it sound like proliferation would be an every-issue type of thing.
  12. Can you slot more than one of the same proc in a different attack? i.e., could an ice blaster put the energy damage proc from Positron's Blast in Frost, and Ice Storm, and Blizzard?

I am confused, because somewhere I saw a limit that you could only use 1 proc of a given effect in your build?
