I sure haven't found one. I was forced to use the bosses from the original group, rather than the custom group. At least I was able to set their minions to the custom group.

Trying to remember if I ever saw a mission map that had both crazy civilians running around and an ally/hostage, and I can't think of any (though that might just be bad memory).

Any Mayhem where you find the key for the prison breakout side-mission.
The AI in those is incredibly "wonky" though. -

But thanks for the clarification.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're welcome. Glad I could help you with that. -

bah!bah! the beginning! yes one month of work so i dont have to for 6 months is lazy! my reasoning is sound and is exactly whats happening wish you could open your eyes and see the truth
[/ QUOTE ]
If anything, they have far more work than they've bargained for. There's a huge mess of bugs that came out of Test right along with i14. In fact, just yesterday morning, I noticed the ally/pet AIs were even -more- screwed up than usual. -
[ QUOTE ]
...because you can't read chat with mission creator open...
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, you can. There's a minimize button on the top-right corner of the Architect window, and once minimized you can shape it as you choose. -

So where do these "90%" numbers come from?
[/ QUOTE ]
Like most statistics of that kind, they're being pulled from people's sphincters. It's hyperbole, nothing more.
[/ QUOTE ]
Precisely. Thank you.

lets see, im a lazy slob who doesnt like doing my job, etc...

Pretty narrow-minded viewpoint you have there. Ever written anything about your character in your character's description? Ever checked out the description of another player's character? If so, then had you considered that they're simply giving the players similar ways to expand their creativity, on an immensely larger scale? Think about it. Now players can make up their own lore, and conceive ways to have their characters' pasts relived. And that's only one such example on how the Architect can be used.
Of course, if your answer to those earlier questions was no? Then... whatever floats your boat, I guess. -
Time? I don't even have a team, yet. So far, you're the only one who's been interested.
I'm considering trying on the published arcs forum anyways, even though this one's not published yet. -
It's a great idea. The problem will be getting it standardized by the entire community.
-

I get that this is such a great departure from "normal gaming" that it will be a bit of culture shock for some, but I'm loving it. It's probably pretty easy to think of it as somehow not being a part of the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the opening poster is referring more to the fact that 90% of the community has been doing nothing but MA farms since it started. Their views may be cynical, but it's understandable at least. -
It's not an outdoor map? I remember hearing about escorts in outdoor maps not working properly in another thread. Something about the actual entrance point being located 40f under ground, out of range for the NPC to detect it.
-
Yeah, I had this problem too. At the end of the latest Arc I've been working on, I wanted to have Rularuu bosses spawn in my custom group. Alas, it seems the only way to do it currently is to have the bosses themselves spawn from the original groups, or to have the bosses be the only enemies in the group.

On the subject of clues: What determines the order in which they appear in the player's clue list? Is it the order in which you place your objectives in the MA editor?
[/ QUOTE ]
If I recall correctly, yes. -
Most people really will ignore the clues, barely even realizing they exist.
Though, there will be a minority of people who always sift through the details. They're likely going to be the ones leaving you most of the feedback.
If you want my take? They're a nice addition, but never a necessity. If you can think of good, or even clever or quirky, ways to use them, I'd definitely say go for it. -
Define "not working." There's a number of currently known issues that may be similar with your own.
-
Y'know... I suppose there's nothing stopping me from doing this on the Test server instead, if that would make it more convenient for anyone.
-
What's the mission pacing set to? If it's flat, you might find a good number of +1 enemies even at lower levels. That's still better than running into +2s and +3s at the end of the level though, with -2s and -1s near the start to add some kind of balance.
It's hard to make missions that are playable at all levels. You'd pretty much have to set all powers to standard for lowbies, but then highbies would get bored. It's a tough situation. -
...Holy crud, I never even realized there was an AE building there. That changes a lot... and yes, a villain/anti-hero/whatever-you-are would be more than welcome to come along. XD
-
Or better yet, released the Rularuu maps. Apparently they were on the Test server, but had to be pulled when MA went live so they could tweak the spawns on them.
Then again, if everything was perfect from the start, we'd never have anything to look forward to. -
Most people already know the pro's and con's of the Mission Architect system. With that kind of power, the players themselves must exercise responsibility in how they use it.
Personally, I refuse to involve myself with the farms. I have no interest in making this game a chore, or levelling up really super fast. And so, aside from broadcast being flooded all the time, I don't really have a problem with it. -
They're huge, and wouldn't work well with a lot of the smaller maps. I'm sure we'll be able to use/buy them with tickets once they've worked out a reliable way to avoid potential bugs/issues.
-
[ QUOTE ]
what you do is publish the arc with Test in the title
then form a team on Virtue to run through it - they get xp, tickets, etc.
Then unpbublish, make any changes, and republish without test in the title
[/ QUOTE ]
I've no desire to publish an untested work. -
After much sweat and blood, my second MArc -- designed as a Task Force -- is almost ready to be published.
All that's left to do first, is give it a test run. The problem with that being, I'd need a capable team to test run it with me.
Anyone feel up to the task? I could really use 6 more sets of hands. Aside from a desire for this kind of thing, all I ask is a few things.
Virtue server. Or Test, if it's more convenient.
Villain or Hero. Apparently there's an AE building in RWZ!
At or around level 50. SKs can be provided, but can't be guaranteed.
So far, my group includes:
- 50 Emp/Arch Defender (me)
- 40 Warshade, whom I'll be SKing. (my partner)
And before anyone mentions, please understand that this is not intended as promotion for my MArc. My only intention is to make sure this MArc is working as intended, and can be properly completed by a team. There's no EXP, tickets, or rewards of any kind for participating in this test run, save a few possible badges for running missions in Test mode.
Thank you's in advance for anyone who might take an interest in this endeavor. -
Haha! Only 134? My first arc feels a little more special, now.
A shame I may have to take it down to make room for my other arcs, though... -

I'm gonna throw this character up in a fight against Statesman, and see how HE fares against her. >D
[/ QUOTE ]
It was a good fight, but Statesman won in the end. (The good guy always does!) Recluse just freakin' creamed her, Ghost Widow mezzed the crud out of her... Yeah, the actual AVs/Heroes in this game seem to have little trouble with her. So, I should think a team prepared for a challenge should be able to manage with her. -
[ QUOTE ]
Set her to use Energy Assault instead of Energy Melee. Build Up makes Energy Melee, Broad Sword, and Martial Arts way more dangerous in hard mode than any other offensive power set (none of them get it, making me think this was an oversight).
[/ QUOTE ]
Energy Assault seems just as disgusting, still taking my Brute down in 3 or 4 hits. Only change seems to be, now she'll attack you from a range as well, putting her slightly out of character.
[ QUOTE ]
I've been working on my first arc and gave my big boss (just "boss" mind you) EM. When I go in and test with a good DPS toon that's like 40th level+, I do ok. If I go in with a toon that's a ranged attacker, I do ok, especially if it has a Hold. Otherwise it's pretty ugly.
I keep wanting to test my mish with a real squishy, like a level 15 blaster, which might be doable. 15th level scrapper though, or a brute? No way. Last test I ran with my 30th level brute, this EM boss was the only serious threat I faced (and I died too).
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I'm starting to think that a LOT of the time I die at higher levels with my Brute character, is because of the lack of my tier 8 and 9 powers. At level, I'm quite used to being practically invincible with Brute characters. But once they get lackeyed up? They're not so impervius.
I'm gonna throw this character up in a fight against Statesman, and see how HE fares against her. >D
