lol, you did a wonderful job there. I really like you're concept. Truly heroic.

Those dates should still be valid, you can always check with the artists to be sure though.

Congrats on some wonderful pieces and welcome to the art forums

I originally posted a bit in the forum game section. The whole reason I came over here was because of TA. I saw some of his artwork and wanted to see what this section was like. I stayed here (pretty exclusively) because some of hte most awesome people that play the game are here and I love art.

I did the exact same thing, I thought it was a statue *slaps forehead*

I wanted to get a picture of them sitting peacefully together but eventually gave up deciding that I would have to either drug them or try to catch them both asleep at the same time (The drugging is more likely to happen, lol) Then, they wouldn't sit still long enough (we had just made dinner) for me to get a good non blurry pic so the hubby had to wrangle them and hold them for me.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned my easter egg in this one.

*peers at picture and feels completely lost* ^.^'
What easter egg? *secretly hopes it's something really obscure that most people haven't heard of so she doesn't feel like a huge dork* -
Ugh, I gave up trying to understand ignorant small minded people a long time ago. I'll just remove him and all his favorites from my page. I refuse to support someone like that.

Oh Alex! I'd have to say this is a new fav for me! I love the tendrils surrounding/embracing them and how you have her (very awesome) boot peeking out of the skirt. Just gorgeous! (Are you sure you're not a shoe designer on the side??)
-
I am so glad you added the antennae! Totally makes the picture in my opinion. I too, prefer the one without the visor as it shows more personality (although that mask makes her look more intimidating so I suppose it depends on how you want to depict her)

I agree with what scarf said on DA, as far as the scene goes, it looks as if he's lifting something and trying to give it to the robot, but text would definitely help the viewer out here. 10 people can look at a piece and interpret it 10 different ways

As an artist should distance themselves from a critique and not take it personally (Although it's hard not to, when art is so personal) so should someone giving a critique not get upset when the artist disagrees or ignores them
-
Awesome style, I am totally digging it!

) I do wish this game had 'adorable short antennae' kinda like Andorians or Namekians, 'cuz those would be perfect here.

You should go ahead and paint her with antennae, I think it would look great. -

Personally, as someone with no capacity to create art (and thus am left with mostly critique when surfing through this particular board. HAHAhaaa. Surfboard), I try to gauge things specifically on whether or not the artist is even asking for critique.

If I ask, I want it. For example...
'something is bugging me about the figure in this piece, but I can't quite put my finger on it. What do you guys think?'
But if I'm posting up a pic (especially a paid commission), I would hope that if someone is making negative comments about it, they'd take it to a PM. Because, if someone truely has critique and help in mind, they don't need to gloat all over the boards bashing art... a polite whisper will do.

I'd have to totally agree with Juggy here. If a piece is finished (i.e. a commission) I think it's pretty much a no no unless asked for. If you want to critique it keep it to PM's. There have been a few people on here (occasionally, overall I think everyone here rocks) that almost seem to delight in pointing out all the flaws in artists work. Also I think that pointin g out good and bad is better than just pointing out bad. Many of us almost have the "we're a large family" vibe here and when one is attacked the others feel like he/she should be defended. Keeping it to a PM will help keep it from escalating into something really ugly. -
