Quote:I would love to color all of the pieces I did, and Tooth was the one which initially started me off his grin was perfect inspiration. I'll post it if / when I ever gat around to coloring it.Tooth's signature grin is what most people remember him for. My roommate has been making fun of it for years and cracked up when he saw the drawing Deebs did.
I really liked to sparkle you added to his smile in the drawing you did, Cyrsei. Definitely added character to the piece.
And Thanks Deebs I would really like that! Just let me know if its ok with Shia and when the next one is. -
Yup ditto have a series of costumes for the Halloween parties all ready and waiting!

((I know what you mean I didn't read mine until after and I have yet to edit it. /le sigh. But that was great, I dont know squat about Filipino Mythos magical practice and the like but I do have a fair bit of knowledge in many cultures and the occult so it was most assuredly a treat for me to see someone not only playing a magic character (that's not all "I got my powers from circle or Azura's lost trinket!") but also understanding the importance of color in candle magic. I have a few magic origin characters but have not had a chance to do much with them lately so this was a real treat. Anywho I hope everyone is ready for tomorrows installment we'll see what PandoRosie can pull out of the box this week

Quote:These are some great tricks indeed! I only wish I could catch Shia's live stream myself. I've been frequenting DA reading all of Juggy's tutorials and any others I can get my hands on but its not the same without the live help right there with you. I've just started learning how to use Photoshop and I got a free copy of Elements 7.0 with my Bamboo Craft Wacom Tablet 3 weeks ago, so I'm still at the really painful stage of learning how everything works, and I think my hads are turning into graphite. I'm a lefty and I smudge my way across the page as I go along. I'm a big fan of erasers so maybe I should look into the blue pencil you speak of....the below is all very TLDR so fair warning
one of two ways ,
I sometimes sketch with a blue photo pencil ----> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-photo_blue (im real messy with lines but try not to erase things ) then find the lines I like and ink over the blue pencil .the blue pencil pretty much disapears when you scan it in .
(trick one Suichiro from these forums taught me or I stole it from him )
before learning the non photo blue pencil trick I would scribble out sketches then go back in and ink the lines I liked and only after inking would I erase anything , then when it was scanned in I would tweak the brightness in photoshop which allowed me to generally make any lite lines disapear and the inked lines very crisp and bright ,
(I've only recently started taking a class or two so all my early stuff is done the hard way )
lets see
pencil wise I use a refillable clickie pencil (I recently splurged and got a hoighty toighty fancy clickie pencil <.< >.> and my friends make fun of me for what I paid for it ...but its like my excalibur it really does feel right in my hand )
ink wise I use black sharpie markers for big black areas and micron pens of varying width for my inked lines (Microns are cheap and versatile and can be found at any art supply store )
paper wise I often buy a big pack of high end copy paper from the various office supply stores and sometimes pick up bristol board for larger images where im gonna be doing big doodles .
Toxic Shia has been doing alot of art streaming lately where he draws live , i've found it amazingly great as a tool to watch him since I can ask him questions about what he is doing and how he is using photoshop and i've picked up a few tricks from seeing other artists drawing live . -
:Scratches her head: I thought Virtue ousted PERC a long time ago?
So a few questions; Could you post screenies of the winners, and whats the bribe running at these days, cause we all know the markets going to crash soon.... -
Quote:<3 Devil Doll, Neko you totally earn cool points from me on this one chica*pushes her way through the curtain on stage, clad in a long, shimmering purple silk dress. Hair done up just so, and bright cherry red lips in a small pout. Taking the microphone in both hands as the bandstarts to play a slow, sexy tune*
I'm the queen of pain, I can make it thunder and rain,
I can turn the clouds black in the sky,
I can put all those tears in your eyes.
I'll Leave and never wave goodbye cause I'm the queen of pain.

Funny you should suggest Jack I was going to ask you if it was ok if I tried my hand at drawing everyones favorite surfing genius Grandad.
Here's what I worked on today.
Ms. Liberty
War Witch
And a little something else I'm keeping under wraps for now -
Get me a screenie of each character and I'll try my damnedest

Mornin Shecky!
:lounges in her BBC and sips her coffee and noms some fruit and toast:
Moonshine Monday huh? My family back in the day where bootleggers (my great uncle John was killed during a shoot out on one particularly squirrely raid when crossing the Canadian border too) so this is totally up my alley.
Happy Hillbilly Monday! -
Quote:really like the hairy dude, his monocle is awesome, also love the cheesy grin on Silver Tooth. How do you get such clean lines? I'm having a hell of a time with that.So knocked out 10 of you lot yesterday in between chores and such , I will do another pass through the list next weekend and try to knock out another 10 or so (maybe headshots , maybe chibis ..maybe stick figures ..who knows )
Theres a slightly larger image on Deviant Art ---> http://scarfgirl.deviantart.com/#/d30xn5o

2)I'll be going over the list again this weekend so chances are if you weren't in this week i'll likely get you next week ...maybe ...who knows ! -
Ok so I need a challenge, some ideas for subjects for this week. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks Heroid! I need to work on my expressions and perspective now.

I think he was being a smartars to prove his point. I haven't heard of most of the people spoken of in this (of course I remember Unicorn, and the ducks and the taxibots etc.) but the rest are lost on me. I think really Icon is being used to lightly we all know of people from the forums or just from playing with a certain group so what one person considers "celebrity" will be different from another.
((btw; "Vent Crew" are a group of players who where apart of the original Virtue Ventrilo community.)) -
Ok so all week long I've been trolling these forums looking for inspirations from among my fellow City of players and trying out different poses. These where just some of my results.
and last but not least another homage pic to a comic book character I love, Black Cat.

is it 4:30 yet? It probably is somewhere that's not here right now... Hands are all twitchy I've done 7 sketches this week and I'm noticing I'm becoming quicker and more consistent. Going to post up my pics sometime tonight here and on DA for anyone who is interested.
Oh and in honor of the Rookery I had fruit loops this morning for Fruit loop Friday
