Correct, which is why all these posts about the game being too difficult should not be listened to by the devs. They're trying to speak for the majority when it is clear they are not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You took what I was saying and twisted the meaning. I was talking about the majority/minority thing that you and a couple others claim you know. Speaking for myself, I post on these boards about things that I think should be fixed. They may be bugs and indeed need to be fixed, but I in no way speak for the majority of the people playing. As for the others, who knows if they are trying to speak for the majority of the people or not. But assuming that is bad judgement on your part. As for the Devs not paying attention or listening to the boards ... They should, in my opinion, because it is the only thing they have that connects them to the gamers.

You need to choose a new label because calling someone coward sparks very harsh, angry reactions. This is not an incredibly wise course of action on your part, and if you continue to do so I will contniue to report it until you either are stopped or banned. Period.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I completely agree with you on that. What MissAurora is 'labeling' people as is harsh and will be taken that way. I have yet to see a post from her that does not have some type of labeling such as 'stupid, mindless, cowards'.
  4. [ QUOTE ]

I am seeing a lot of people in game that are enjoying the new mission difficulty. Most people are actually trying to beat the mission. The forums however cater to the vocal minority of people (the forums represent less than 2% of the game population, remember that) that don't like the new difficulty.

If the majority of people didn't like the new difficulty, they would come here and post. I don't see all that many people, compared to the number of people in the game still playing, posting here that they don't like it. I do see quite a few posts saying they do like the new difficulty and want it to say. The only way Cryptic will ever get a true opinion of the game is to create a poll that you have to answer when you log in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can not state anything correctly about a majority or minority of the game. Unless you know every last person who plays, which I'm sure you don't. However you are correct about the poll idea. That would be the only way to truely know. And even then, they probably wouldn't tell us the results.

That fact that you want to dumb the game down pisses me off. I'm tired of playing games where there's no challenge. I like to be intellectually challenged and stimulated when I'm playing. If you want mindless, mindnumbing action... www.progressquest.com You don't even have to push any buttons once you get started... you can mindlessly sit there and enjoy the safe and easy leveling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well the same can be said for you, if you want a game with more of a challenge try something else. Lineage 2 perhaps, where you are constantly watching your back because people want to kill you.

MissAurora, I understand fully where you are coming from when you say you want more of a challenge. But what you are failing to look at is there are other people who aren't powergamers like you or myself. The casual gamer can't even play anymore, or they can but they don't get anything done. Not everyone has the time to use your tatics, running back and forth between your ongoing mission and your contact to get inspirations. Or smack a couple of whites then run and rest. While I have gotten used to the extra difficulty and fair pretty well in game now, there are plenty of others who have not. That does not make them cowards, mindless or stupid. And the way they play the game, nor the way you play the game, is wrong.

Open your eyes to what other people feel, not just yourself. If you want a game that's all about you try playing FPS games or console games. This is a community game, not a single person game. And how others feel is important to the game's success. So while your opinion (constructive critisism not trolling like ...

    [ QUOTE ]

You whiny crybabies want to dumb the game down and make it so damn boring it turns into the Sims with Super Powers!

    [/ QUOTE ]

that's beyond wrong) counts, so does everyone elses. Like I said before this is a community game, not 'CoH: MissAurora'.

Put in your thoughts constructively, not senseless ridicule. Enjoy the game, if you have to stop reading this particular post then do so. With the difficulty slider coming into game you get what you want, but until then the people as a whole have a right to speak their minds without being called names or yelled at by someone who thinks their way is the only and right way to play the game.

[censored], 4 freaking pages, and no one bothers with the problem he mentioned, just jibber jabber about the zone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do believe I made a comment on what he originally posted about. Go back and reread the forum, please, before you make a statement like that.
  7. You actually DO NOT have to do it. Yeah you may have to go in and talk to the guy but you don't have to run the mission he gives. Simply just talk to him, ignore his missions and go back to your original contact. Problem solved.
  8. [ QUOTE ]

Oh, and about the outcry thing, the large quantity of outcry(read whining) coming from a few posters don't mean that the rest of us are all pissed off. It's the principle of the silent majority vs. the noisy minority(Yes I am aware of the Nixon theme ). Anyways if it is the case that many people are dissatisfied it is only logical that they flood to the boards here to post their complaints. Since this forum makes up for less than 1% of the player base and I haven't seen any jump in the number of new posters, I can only conclude that people either don't care enough or that they simply find the new issue challenging and fun as opposed to "impossible" like some whiners here(you included) have put it or implied.

I leveled one char to lvl 21 and another one to lvl 12 after the release of issue 2. One was a dark/dark defender and another was a scrapper. I went through both hallows and perez park without undue trouble so I don't see what the real complaint is. I died about 3 times between the 2 chars, and the deaths were in a group. Unless you play like an idiot and don't plan your targets and skill slots wisely you shouldn't have too much trouble lvling in the lower lvls even with issue 2.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So because we post our thoughts here on the boards we are whiners? That's nice to know. Oh and what makes you so sure the majority favor the patch, the same can be said about the majority hating it. There is no way to really tell unless you get everyone who plays to speak up. But that won't happen because there are some who just don't care or wish to remain silent. I will say this, I for one do not wish to remain silent when I think there is something wrong with the game. That's how things get fixed if it is a mistake. I'm glad some people like it, great for them. But like I said earlier in a post, the MMO's will never cater to everyone. And what I mean by that is, someone somewhere will be unhappy about something in the game.

As for your assumption of people not knowing how to play because 'you' leveled just fine ... I have been playing since beta, I think I would know how to play by now. I've solo my whole gaming experience with the exception of doing the TF missions. Not to mention the many other MMO's I have played. So just because you got 'lucky' does not mean you have to talk smack about the other players who are having difficulty.

And another thing, you have to also look at it from a casual gamer's view. With this new patch the casual gamers (not hardcore gamers like 'you') might as well not play. They don't get enough done in the time that they play. My boyfriend who is a casual gamer has pretty much stopped playing. He feels no reward in playing anymore.

So ... Logmo ... Stop thinking you are the only one playing the game and try to take in other people's perspectives. Maybe then you will see why there are people making statements about the new patch and you won't be so quick to judge.

Because of the *(&^*(&%^ whiners on this board thats why!,

I read threads like this and feel disgusted by the boards in general. Whine Whine Whine cry cry cry.

Wow! Someone's a bit tense ne? Here's an idea ... If you don't like what you are reading, and that's your opinion of people's thoughts here on the boards ... Don't read them. Quite simple really and it saves your blood pressure.
  10. [ QUOTE ]

Just out of curiosity, for those complaining about massive debt did it ever occur to anyone to stop doing what they were doing to get debt in the first place. If the mission was too hard to solo and you died did you keep going back just to get killed again without taking a different approach?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well did it ever occur to you that some of us have actually tried taking a different approach on things? I know I have and it led to the same outcome, dying and building up even more debt. Yeah, you can street sweep as people like to put it but it's crappy experience, you have to fight with other people over the mobs you 'arrest' and it gets way boring way quick. I have a major problem with people coming up and 'leeching' experience from me when I fight outdoors so I prefer to do indoor missions so that won't be a problem.

As for badge hunting, there are only so many of those you can find at low levels before you run out of them. I mean come on. And for someone like myself who is a solo player, finding a group really isn't the answer either. Specially when I do finally break down and group they all turn out to be horrid players and I died more with them than I did solo.

Now, while I do not agree with giving us some compensation for the debt we obtained through out the 'bug' instance, I do not think that we should have to stop doing indoor missions. I pay money monthly for this game as does everyone else, I/we should be able to play the game in it's entirety.
  11. This has nothing to do with the post but I have to ask ... Veg, do you actually play or do you just sit on the forums and argue?
  12. Personally there are only few things I see wrong with the game at the moment.

    1) Having red bosses in low level indoor missions (just a pain but can be delt with).

    2) Missions that require you to have at least one other person to complete.

    3) Missing an ungodly amount even when maxed with accuracy enhancements.

    4) The amount of patroling mobs in the indoor missions.

    5) The mobs having high level powers (which they are fixing, so I've been told. If it hasn't been fixed already).

Other than that I love what they have done with the game. But not everyone feels the same. A MMO will never cater to everyone's need for how the game should run. But the players are entitled to their opinion and no one should berate another for them speaking up with what they feel is wrong with the game.

As far as this whole thing being a mistake or not ... No one knows but the people who run the game. Besides, does it really matter now? They are fixing it.
  13. I've learned to 'deal' with the bug (as they called it) but one thing still cheeses me. I got another mission yesterday that required me to be grouped to complete it. Once again I state to the Devs, take that out please! Us solo players do want to be forced to group. Make new contacts for group missions or a new link on old contacts for group missions. Just stop making it required to group!
