  1. Wait I thought all of us were blackbelts?
  2. No offense to the artist, but I kinda like your version a little more... makes me want to draw her.

  3. Yeah I think that would get you a skin slap on the wrists, but it's a nice piece... congrats!

Yeah 8Baller, check out these video tutorials by Steven Sanchez on DA.

He's got a great style, and his methods actually work, I love sketching on card stock now. I use to do it at my table top D&D game on index cards, who knew I was on the right track...

    As for Donuts:

Deli Deep Fried - plain, cannot be beat...
HOT off the conveyor belt Krispie Kreme, but only if HOT
Tim Horton's Maple Frosted (thankfully I am in Canada)
Dunkin Donuts, but only if yer near death...

So wait if I lower my brain matter for an afternoon, will I enjoy it then? My wife has never seen any SW movies and knows next to nothing about it, would she like it? She keeps threatening to actually watch one "for" me...

Also I forgot to mention, if you're a predominantly digital heavy artist, I'd suggest going back to basics and get some good card stock, a mechanical pencil and a kneaded eraser - and go to town... OR if you're a traditional artist, redraw something from your past, finish a sketch into a finished piece or rework something you've done again... often you will be at a point where you can add to older pieces, just because as artists we constantly evolve from the process of doing more and more work... look at Gil's latest work since his return, it dwarfs his previous work I dare say...

    CSS Baby!!!

Are you using IE? Cause I was told by Elandria the original coder that IE is the spawn of Satan. She made it specifically for Firefox, so maybe that adds to it.

I will definitely try to get that to scroll...

Thanks for all the help all, I think TA is gonna give it the old Cali try... I sent him all the coding. And Khep, the Wips are clickable, they don't scroll, but maybe they should, I will ask the son to see if that's possible.

    Thanks again all!

Okay well thank you for trying Aggelakis, but I apologize for not understanding your instructions... like I said, I am a CSS dodo...

HERE is the image I wish to use... ideally I'd like to go right of the "Bobby" logo, I can resize it if I have to...

    CSS Baby!!!

All the coding for the pages is credited to Elandria, but the very intelligent son reworked her template...

While we were working I asked, "How long have you been doing CSS?" His answer, "about 20 minutes..." He's one of those under achieving over achievers... I am a bit of a task master and he did everything I asked and more...

Anyone know how to add a single image behind the text? I'd like to add a faded montage of some piece...
  16. I love how the gargoyle's face suggests the face behind the mask... nice suggestion/juxtaposition Gil, bravo!

Wait then that means TA is human? Scarf Girl doesn't really wear scarves? and, and, and Doc Boy isn't a doctor? Oh my god, I feel so dirty...

I second the movie, also the buying of comics, or just going to a really good store gets the creative juices flowing... or a decent book store.

I had this problem recently when my wife had knee surgery, I just shut down all things creative to take care and focus on her. And while that helped her, I found myself meandering every time I sat down to even try to draw... or play COH, in fact the odd thing of playing WoW inspired me again to draw, because I found I was a little burnt out on the hero subject matter.

Now I find if I supplement my brain with images of Fantasy, my first love, then I can put some of that into the hero work. It's hard to keep your rhythm when so many things get in the way. I hate being sick, or laid out physically and even that throws you off, cause you want to be creative, it's just you can't focus through the stress.

I find getting up early and the big breakfast thing to be a big help too... and to have something to reward you at the end of a work day, like a cool DVD, some COH/WoW/AoC game time, and let's not forget the ever faithful glancing at porn! Okay well at least some very attractive wimmens so you can use them for inspiration in your next commission.

"Honey I need to look at those nekid girls for RESEARCH!"
    "Uh huh"
"Seriously, you are STIFLING my creativity!"
    "Uh huh"
"I don't bother you when you try to work, this is my process, I need boobies!"
    "Uh huh"
"Would you believe Alex sent me that as a joke?"
    "Uh huh"
"No really honey, he's sick, he wants me draw nekid women with blue skin and huge hamhock thighs!"
    "Uh huh..."

... well sort of, still working out the kinks, but the son hooked me up...

    LJ's new CSS page

Check it out, for now, the Journal entry is below the Current Client info, and that part will be fleshed out once I finish a piece, so more info to come on what I'm working on.

The Commission info is now in 3 places, my sig here, the top of the journal, and the full bottom of the journal too! Nothing like overkill to get your point across...

However there are now links to the tutorials I've collected, the City of Nuts stuff, and my scrapbook, which I sort of have to edit, but I'll have to do that at a later date.

And yes, the rather large first name is propaganda so that people start using it!

    LJ no wait Bobby

LOLOL whoops my bad, I meant MBs... lololol though the one I am working on now is ridiculously high, but it is 3 figures on a huge background... lolol I'm still laughing...
  22. Perhaps bashing is too harsh a word. But the art theft is hard to overlook.
  23. I definitely want a shot at you some day... too busy right now to even offer it for free. Well I could, but it would be nowhere close to capturing you the way I'd like. That would require time I currently don't have, my fave is still the Transfuse one, I' love to come close to that one. Great collection!

This is why I send TIFFs or TGAs of my finished pieces at full resolution to the client in a zip file. Printing!

    [/ QUOTE ]

How big is your average file Foo? I send zipped jpegs anywhere from 1.5 - 3GB, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Tiffs HUGE? I'm asking only cause if I could send a smaller file, I would. I just work really large by habit... I can work smaller, but I find it less satisfying. And how big is sending a TGA? Do all of your clients have photoshop or something to open Tiffs and TGAs with, or will any software open those? Okay no more ?s

  25. Wassy:

My wife's company, the one she works for, uses Myphotopipe.com - they're based in Atlanta, have a very easy to use interface and print on everything from quality watercolor paper to canvas, framed or not framed, matted or not matted...

I had a painting photographed here in Canada, uploaded it to their site, it was mailed out in 4 days to NYC, and my aunt (visiting my mom in Long Island) living in Mexico brought it back with her safe and sound. The quality was excellent and it was mailed in a very durable tube for travel. Check em out, I refer all my clients to them, who want this type of printing.

    LJ

PS: they also do books, was gonna order a book of my finished pieces for Xmas gifts.
