Can't say I'm a costume expert but here's my opinion.

Go with 2 if his origin is similar to Positrons, and that the energy inside him is contained by the suit. This explains the unusual emanation from the chest... and not the rest of the suit.

However if the symbol is part of some corporate logo, which explains why he has to advertise it on his legs...?
I'd go with 1.

I'd actually like to see 1's chest symbol on 2, without the side stripes...

Color to follow tomorrow... if you could print this out and write some color suggestions in certain areas, like what you want to be metal, cloth, etc... and skin color.
