  1. Left you more notes, but I forgot to say the pinky edge should be straight, not curled like you have the hand now. Straight like it's against the side of her leg.

  3. Welcome back TA, and thanks for including my Kilo cover... I loved the Liz interview!
  4. Trouble, when it rains it pours...

Edit: thanks again bud for your input... I know you saw this, but thought I'd put it in this thread anyway, instead of starting another...

  5. I agree with the above. I think style is what other people use to define your own work. I think to you it's just your own work. It may not have the exact qualities you're striving for at the given moment, but what is inherent about it is your outlook.

You "can" change that, add to it, evolve it... but like anything it takes practice, hard work, and in my personal opinion a lot of absorption of what inspires you. It's not about wanting to draw like someone you love, it's about wanting to draw period!

  6. Hey LR:

I did a little photoshopping... haven't had to do this since I use to Mod a Drawing forum. But for you anything, so here goes...

    Altered Version

Here's what I did: (and these are the only things I touched)

    1) lowered the shoulder, I know hers are angling down in the original, but it made her a little hunch-backish...

    2) defined the bicep, by indenting here, i read somewhere that makes them look more "heroic"

    3) same principle, you have to indent the bicep, but extend the forearm and shoulder (deltoid)... just makes the arm in general look like it's tensing.

    4) raised the negative space here to clearly define the top of her hips, the indent at the thigh, and slope upward of her stomach.

    5) she's got such a great "line" here, that i thought the other arm took away from it, which is why i raised the back arm. i also gave her trunk a little more junk, and defined the cleft a little, it doesn't have to be as dark as i made it, but i didn't like the single line.

    6) i tried the arm bent at the waist, but again it took away from her, also i didn't shade it cause that arm could be in complete shadow almost as if she was leaning on a wall, or you could change the hand to hold a weapon... um or my favorite, the bleeding severed head. j/k

    7) the arm i think also works, because her head is looking in the same direction, i curved the far edge of her hair, so the your eye would travel back to that sexy spinal column, and then down again to that "blue moon"...

YOU DON'T REALLY NEED ANY OF MY CHANGES...

But for another direction, just something to think about in the future, hope it helps.

  8. It's a great piece, though the stance for AD is a little odd, the head is great, but the body looks like he's about to fall. I love the winged figure the most, very sexy... great feathers! Congrats to you...
  9. looks like an animation cell... beautiful job!
  10. looking good Crest... the head was worth the wait, one of your best...
  11. Again, if you missed it in the initial post... I have what I came for, and am sorry to say the winners will be a secret till I'm done.

  12. I realized, I should probably offer up a "female" friendly version of my Play City covers just for the ladies of COH...

So if anyone would like to volunteer their Male Only toons for ahem, artistic abuse... I will draw up a mock cover like the ones currently in my journal, so please post some links to your "hunka hero" screenies.

I will choose the first 2 that strike me as viable... these covers will look like the others, except the tagline will read -

Play City: Entertainment for Heroines * Month 2007

Oh and Robots need not apply, no one wants to look at naked robots, that would be a whole other magazine.

    EDIT:

Thank you for all the entries... Whoa that was a lot to choose from, but I have decided on the 2 already, and will be working on them as soon as possible. Again many many thanks, and here's to my first beefcake issue coming soon!

*now back away slowly before they tear us to pieces*
  13. love them both, but the LH is hot!
  14. No worries Aerones, that looks like most of my sketches in Photoshop... with a pencil I have full control, in Illustrator the program clears up all the shakes. This one just got lucky for me... great Cannonball btw, looks like fun!
  15. Turbo in a thong? Icy Hot!
  16. Thanks... unfortunately it ate into some of the time for Lillith, but tomorrow I should be done, cross your fingers...

  20. Jam, short for Jam Session, term used by musicians to mean impromptu playing without sheet music... just coming up with something on the spot. Art Jams, well would be art on the spot with a particular theme, in this case Mutants.
  21. Ah so that's what that room's called, I have one of these, let me go see. brb

Whoops sorry were in the shot, but it is a different angle...

  22. Just an update on the final coloring of this Cover...

Basically my process is, I find an actual cover from PB, in this case this was taken from the April 2003 issue from Greece. I change it where applicable, drawing it freehand in Illustrator, with the image opened on my 2nd monitor. Then I flat color it like so, shade it eventually, and put the type on...
