Not the point of the topic, but I did'nt know you ran the Heraclea fan club. But to answer your question;
Caitif: A cowardly and despicable person. If you need some references; http://www.thefreedictionary.com/caitiff
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/caitiff
Since I'am neither cowardly nor despicable by definition, it was merely used as an attempt at berrating me. The classic "big words that mean bad things" angle. Its been used countless times. That should answer your original question, now can we discuss the topic or shall we digress even more? -
Both in said case. And the overall point that there will always be downtime, no matter what game you play, downtime will always be part fo the "difficulty'. Don't worry I won't digress for your sake. The proverbial need to fill your ego balloon will always be here
-
Relax kiddo, go to another board topic or go play the game. Enough proof is given toward my opinion by hundreds of players in said Q&A.
-
They also say in the very same Q and A that Warrior Dps is fine....I've played WoW for three years, I can assure you it is not. Fixing warriors "is on the horizon". Everything wrong with the class is addressed but never fixed. As several posters have pointed out, it just seems like softball questions to which we already know the answers to.
In fact you can quote me Sorc, I'm betting in the next two years Warriors will be the same, and the devs so called "wishes" will be a dream of something we all wanted but never recieved. -
Yeah we all have worked with Devs , we all have developed games, and we all don't have a lick a proof...
-
Your using caitiff incorrectly....see what happens when we try to be funny...
No man is so much a fool as not to have wit enough sometimes to be a knave; nor any so cunning a knave as not to have the weakness sometimes to play the fool. -
Sure it has its places, on MMO boards...not so much. Especially when people are clicking around using words like "lawl , "lulzy", and really anything 4chan related.
-
Ah circular logic, simple and easy to use when evading the point at hand.
-
Is it always frowned upon when someone asks for proof?. Pretty horrible that I need to even ask that.
-
Your using words like "lulzy"...and I'm assuming you have not played a DB of any kind to think that its "lulzy" or you have and have no idea on how to play one. Now if you have said Fire tank out the gate are "lulzy" sure, or even if you said Rock tanks pre granite "lulzy" I would have understood.
-
Watch some of the videos again, he loses aggro from several Rikti while their in aggro range. I specifically comment on that moment. He has to run/teleport to the minion and hit it to get enough aggro to pull off the mob, but we digress don't we?.
-
Here we go again Sorciere, not playing the game again, stuck on these boards...I love the dichotomy....(big word of the day).
[ QUOTE ]
You may be interested to learn that the lead class designer of WoW recently mentioned that he found the downtime for warriors to be a problem (most WoW classes have abilities to manage and reduce downtime, such as Spirit Tap for priests, and many classes do not have significant downtime at all if they play smart, such as hunters, death knights, or rogues). You may also be interested to learn, for example, that retribution paladin mana recovery in WotLK was specifically calibrated so that unless they used wasteful abilities or bit off more than they could chew, their mana recovery was meant to match their normal attack chains (and did).
[/ QUOTE ]
Lets see some actual statements from the lead designers. Proof, evidence, something that doesn't make me think that you just pulled that out of your smock. But if indeed this was the released statement, their not going to change the downtime for Warriors when mitigation in the form of bandages exist. I.e. the catch a breath in this game.

Useit.com is the website of Jacob Nielsen, one of the pioneers of usability research. It is simply a commonly cited online resource. If you wish, I can probably find you peer-reviewed papers that cover the same topic.
[/ QUOTE ]
Let it be known that just because you can "google it" does not make said subject accurate or trustworthy. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also to take Taunt or not to take Taunt has been a revolving issue since beta and doesn't seem to be going away any time soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Opinion. Until I see proof of otherwise. -
Actually the videos proved that some aura's are weak and you can lose aggro if say, someone is blasting or scrapping their hearts out.Which was my original point. Maybe you didn't see that part in your wanting to be right.

Gauntlet is broken? Did I miss a memo?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, ask any Fire blaster, or scrapper. Its all "good" till your aggro literally gets pulled away due to some blaster's Snipe, or some scrappers quills....this is without taunt of course.
Then again pre I5 all this , "I don't take taunt" ranting would have never even shown up on the boards. But hey...time makes fool's of us all. -
Sour grapes because I used someones video as proof for my point?. Yeah it happens. Especially when your proven wrong....
-
Seems everyone is "on" today....guess playing the game is the anathema of most board members...
-
And yet you missed my point.... We as tanks, aren't even close to "theoretically" liquefying most foes". The power to even have the option isn't even grasped in the game. The parallels are NOT vivid , in this case.
-
Usually happens with my Tank when I'm running a TF, either a Blaster or a scrapper just can't keep up. But then again its Aett, using proof isn't exactly his "thing".
-
[ QUOTE ]
Note that my earlier specific example was actually referring to an /SR scrapper.
[/ QUOTE ]
I never really have an end issue with SR since I'm usually on a team with a tank, therefore my toggles are more than likely off. The passives alone help with any incoming dmg, but if need be I turn em on. Its really a need to spam button's vs the ability to control yourself and let your end build back up. Hence why for some (I included) 1-19 stamina less is still done. Learn to pace yourself, I understand your a Scrapper but holding back some DPS might help.
[ QUOTE ]
What I am saying, to be clear, is that the current endurance model is an example of poor game design. Not with respect to just tankers, but with respect to the game as a whole. It does not fit the genre, it is poorly calibrated, and it is at its worst during the period when you want to sell players on the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
This late into CoH and with dual builds I would assume Stam isn't really needed, especially with IO's and End Redux's. Tanks would obviously be the Stam herders, but even then, finding synergy with a secondary to replenish end is easy. Then again what game are you looking for?, last time I checked WoW had over 11 million players and everything from Warrior's to Priests have down time, via by lack of health or mana. I don't know what exactly you want , but every MMO I have played keeps the player down for some time, you can't just throw endless streams of powers without some downtime.
[ QUOTE ]
Forced downtime is generally anathema for MMORPGs
[/ QUOTE ]
Seriously, did you just seriously used the word anathema?. Honestly Sorciere who are you trying to impress with a word commonly used in the 1500's. Was loathe not enough? or was "hate" too simple?. In any case, players who love the content will wait as long as possible. Hence why MMo's like Ultima are still around. Then again your basing your information on a website called Useit.com, I think that pretty much says it right there. -
You used the term "lolDB" and your taking a snipe at Coldmed?....some of us are pots, others are kettles I would assume.
-
[ QUOTE ]
but he still holds back and just hits them hard enough to not break anything, sometimes he does it so softly he needs to do it again.
[/ QUOTE ]
False, Superman in the comics, uses brute force , enough to knockout an opponent or send him/her flying into an object, or in some cases a different zip code. Examples; His fight with Maxima, his fight with the hulk, his fight with Superboy prime, his fight with Lobo, his fight with Metallo, and of course his fight with doomsday. I know you havent done any research, but still any wiki page can you help you out tons.
I will agree that taunt should be an inherent as having taunt and gauntlet is highly redundant, especially when Gauntlet is this weak in the game. As for more dmg?, sure I would love actually feeling like a comic book "tank". The Fury Warriors of WoW easily achieve this feat with the exclusion of better tanking "tools". Regardless, I hope tanks in CoH will be given more dmg without the cost of taunting power. -
[ QUOTE ]
I would say take taunt in your 20s. I took it at 20
[/ QUOTE ]
False, just because you took it at 20 does NOT mean someone else should. I have over 6 tanks at high levels (passed 30) and have always taken taunt at lvl 10. Its routine really, and on big teams early one I run into no problems, mainly due to the fact that I have either, mitigation of life points through any type of healing defender, or higher defense and res thanks to any bubbler. I form teams that are full of support and damage. Been doing so for a while now, its your own fault if you can't handle the "heat" in those early levels.
[ QUOTE ]
Like I said, it isnt necessary.
[/ QUOTE ]
False, if it were not necessary the devs would have deleted it from the power list. It's still very functional and still highly used. -
[ QUOTE ]
I dont think taunt is necessary, and this is coming from a WP tanker (the weakest taunt aura)
[/ QUOTE ]
You either believe Gauntlet isnt broken (which it still is) or have no idea on what class you decided to play. As a WP at level 41, I say take taunt, as your aura will need the extra agg. Plus what did you take in place of taunt?, please don't tell me another attack?.
[ QUOTE ]
About 75% through the TF, I hit 20 and said, Woot! I finally get taunt!. The group chat was like, youve been doing just fine. You dont need it etc
[/ QUOTE ]
There's plenty of bad players on CoH. Who have no idea what some classes are capable of. There's a difference in "surviving" and "defeating" said mobs in a tf or in a mission for that matter. Your team was surviving, thanks to gimped Gauntlet. Your team was "winning" and or "defeating" mobs thanks to Taunt. -
You'll be fine by 32(Granite), even with 0 psionic defense or res on my Invul I still tank Psionic enemies. Especially if theres a Kin around. Even more so if that kin is a controller that holds mobs.
