  1. Conserve Power. Build up. Aim. Boost Range. Power Boost.
  2. Pinnacle is the drunken server. You must be at least 21 years old or older to play on that server.
  3. Go ahead, send out invites to everyone you see - doesn't matter what kind of invite - SG, team - just send 'em out. Eventually, someone will click on 'Yes'!
  4. Did anyone find my keys? Yeah...? No? Ah man come on! Seriously people! -AHEM- Oh, yeah - a tip for the loading screens...if you're on a small team, say oh... 3 people total including your blaster self with 2 scrappers, and you suddenly disconnect or get mapserved...take all the time you need to log back in! The scrappers will wait until you come back. Hey! There's my keys! Ok let's go!
  5. It's all a Nemesis plot on Sundays.
  6. [ QUOTE ]

Getting a character to level 3 before you leave the Tutorial will unlock a special archetype when that character reaches level 50.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hahahhahaha - oh really? COOL! I should try this one out *snicker snicker*

Once you get to about level 6,7,8...somewhere around there - go take a walk in Perez Park. You might run across a bunch of heroes just standing around, doing absolutely no crime-fighting at all. Oh HEY! Look! A Giant Monster! Attack IT! Quickly, quickly! You'll get MAJOR XP for it!
  7. Go. Hunt. Kill Civilians in CoV.
  8. I've also recently scattered a "set" of toons across the servers -
Thorn Sister (Plant Control/Thorny Assault Science Dominator) - You know how these science origins go - some sort of experiment gone horribly wrong. Sometimes, a person is put through specifically designed scientific procedures to be changed. Thorn Sister was made by design, not by accident.
Sinister Sister (Martial Arts/Ninjitsu Natural Stalker) - She's just a natural bad-@ ss. And she works for herself.
Feral Sister (Claws/Regen Mutant Stalker) - Upon further study of her DNA, Feral Sister is very distantly related to sabretooth tigers. She was also raised in the wild (wolves, large breed cats such as tigers, lions, panthers, cheetahs...)
Cruel Sister (Necromancy/Dark Miasma Magic MM) - A demoness unleashed on the Isles. Summons the souls of the damned to do her bidding.
Furious Sister (Electrical Blast/Storm Summoning Mutation Corruptor) - Her powers began to manifest when she was 18, during massive storms - hurricanes and electrical storms defined her powers.
War Sister (War Mace/Invulnerability Tech Brute) - A native of the Rogue Isles, she picked up a mace one day to beat down several gang members that wanted her purse. The gang forgot to research the fact that she had been augmented with technology that makes her invulnerable to various forms of pain.
Scourge Sister (Battle Axe/Dark Armor Science Brute) - As to appearance, think Catherine Willows from CSI:, only she carries a Battle Axe, wraps herself in dark energies for protection, and wears skimpy outfits all the time (kinda like Willows before she became a CSI!) Need to actually think up some storylines for this one...
Scorch Sister (Fire Blast/Thermal Radiation Magic Corruptor) - Former member of the Circle of Thorns - she's always been fascinated with fire. Her pyromaniacy developed at a very young age. Her fiery rage couldn't be contained when she was a member of the CoT, so she quit, burning all those to ash that tried to kill her to keep her quiet.
Commando Sister (Merc/Traps Natural MM) - A former officer in the armed services, Commando Sister is a natual leader, hence the Mastermind AT. She'd be a /Device if the MMAT had that secondary.
Naughty Sister (Robotics/Poison Tech MM) - Yep - she's a genius. She demonstrates this by building her minions out of scrap, and utilizing her knowledge of chemistry to make various poisons with which to aid her allies, and destroy her foes.
Psychotic Sister (Mind Control/Electric Assault Mutation Dominator) - Diagnosed with various mental defects when she was born. Grew up in an asylum. Developed her powers around the age of 6. Used those powers to dominate the minds of the staff of the first asylum she was in, transferred several times after that. Finally escaped and made her way to the Isles.
  9. This really isn't a concept since I'm already playing this toon - but I'm posting it here anyways, because of the large range of characters one could put into the City of Heroes:
(I'm also running this character in an RP thread right now, so I'm not revealing his name JUST yet.)

Basically, this man is a swordsman. Only thing is, he's not just ANY swordsman. Nor is he entirely a man - actually, he is male, just not human - he's from a planet I call "Kalderi", appears to be human except for the pointed ears on his head (AND no, that's no Star Trek reference to Vulcans. I just couldn't quite find something in the character creator and tailor to make him look different without changing his whole appearance - when in doubt, go with pointy ears!)

This character is "phase-locked" into the very time/space continuum - meaning(my definition anyway), his entire essence can be split, multiplied, nullified, and just down right scattered across the universe. Throughout it's many dimensions. There's almost always more than one of him running around in a given dimension of time/space, and occassionally, more than one of him pops up in the same timeline in the same dimension. His "base" self is the one currently running around in that RP thread I mentioned earlier(which is also the version of him I run on Pinnacle.) His "replicas" pass through various dimensions and timestreams ALL the time. The thing is - the base version of this character FEELS every instance of himself, his brain recording every second of every replica's actions, thoughts, and memories. He refers to this as his "curse" (he's not really cursed - it all boils down to his past and what happened way back when.)

On his home planet, many, many eons ago, his world was engulfed in war against a tyrannical, powerful sorceror-type beast. This man just so happened to be the greatest warrior and swordsman throughout all of Kalderi history (still is to this day!) and he also happened to have a good heart (though some of the soldiers would argue otherwise - but heh. You get the idea.) The swordsman led the forces of light against the beast's forces of darkness - the two were locked in battle for well over a century. The endgame brought about the beast's fortunate demise (I should really make a villain based on this guy!), but would leave the swordsman in the state he is today. Roleplaying this guy is going to be ... interesting, and very challenging. Also - doesn't matter where he's at - he can pick up ANYTHING, and turn it into a weapon (yes, he'd be great with a lightsaber.) Just something about swords with this guy.

Yes, I've reinvented Officer Reno into a sonic/elec blaster, this time I'm going to try to run without any epic pools. And no fitness pool. Same basic principle, just different powers (gads I've got to stop doing that!)

Which leads into my next post.
  10. I'm an altaholic - too many alts already.

However, I wouldn't mind reinventing my main, Officer Reno, into more of a scrapper type - or possibly even some other form of blaster. Currently, Reno is a lvl 50 sonic/energy/elec blaster that can teleport and fly. Really not what I intended to begin with, but heh - I got him to 50!

Reno is my little spin on cop-turned-superhero, only he had been -inflicted- with nanomachines by a crazed maniac he was trying to bust. Said crazed maniac is now one of my many alts as well.

    So - Officer Reno redux: possible1 = Energy/elec blaster, no epics. Pools = Fitness/Flight/Teleport
    possible2 = some form of scrapper - I haven't decided yet.
  11. I have my view set to 10 posts per page, so it's 32 pages for me as well.

You know, you can set that in your forum options thingie menu whachamacallit.
  12. Hey - I was looking around for a guide to Khelds, and found this one - main thing I was looking for was some sort of naming convention for Khelds.

Well, it is a good guide, just a shame there's no "actual names" for Khelds, just whatever human word is closest to a Kheld's name. I say we make up a naming convention for Khelds, that way people have something to refer to!
  13. Hey that's not too awful bad.

Good to know community relations talks with the Ops team. Good communication is KEY! to survival.

I just woke up anyway...-looks around house for stuff to do...-
Hey, I think I should give my cat a bath...won't take that long and then the servers will be back up!

!Here kitty kitty kitty ^EVIL GRIN^!
  14. [ QUOTE ]

See, I didn't see that as finding any kind of peace. In fact, this is Paragon City we're talking about. I wonder what Stahlkrieger would do or feel if his path took him through that part of King's Row some day and he discovered that his mother's insane spirit is still waiting in that little apartment...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, he wouldn't feel much being that he's an android now. He might go on a rampage through the Row.

He might just say something to the effect: "Go figure..."
  15. Grats to myself for dinging my first 50 here on Pinnacle (and all of CoX for that matter!)

The toon: Officer Reno, lvl 50 Science Blaster, sonic/energy manipulation/electrical mastery.

The time - somewhere around 11PM CST, June 1, 2008.

The task force: Imperius TF, of course!

Thanks again to the teammates on this TF - especially for all the rezzes!
    Dr. Prime
    EarAche
    Mitzu ki
    Takara
    Morphus
    Dark Tsunami

-and Adamas - I probably wouldn't have dinged had he not been watching PinnBadges or if I hadn't asked if anyone was forming an ITF or ship raid!

Special thanks goes out to Sekhmet - just for having me in some XP farm last night (which I got to 48 or maybe even 49 then...)
  16. Well .... I've read the other comments here:

    A) If you wrote this at work, I completely understand why you used the AT names instead of working up some other way of describing how the characters used their powers. That was just simply due to lack of time.
    B) I kept wondering why I empathized with Stahlkrieger at the beginning, but that became clear when I read the origin chapter(s). Plus, there was this one minded pursuit of his brother's supposed killer the whole entire time - man that was just amazing. Fits an android perfectly. (Kinda reminds me of Lore's dogged antagonizing of Data in ST: TNG! Just with hella more action.)
    C) You've gotta write some more - where is Crimson Bow?
    D) A great, tragic story. Totally bleak. Whereas so many enter the Rogue Isles to gain infamy and fortune, not so the case for Bryan Sullivan, a.k.a. Stahlkrieger - and you've worked it out with near perfection. (The whole thing with the ATs is just nitpicking...and could probably be taken as more a tribute to the game then anything else.) Probably some grammatical errors, definitely some typos. Those are no big deal though compared to the entire story.

Overall I'm just impressed. From beginning to ending. I lost track of how long that took me to read. I'm still waiting to read more already.

(Paragon Police Department Report - Excerpt)
**Kings Row Division - Narcotics/S.W.A.T./Homicide/Gang Unit Task Force - Codename: Operation Flyswatter**

The task force was formed in response to the growing gang situation in Kings Row, particularly due to the gang known as the "Skulls". Officer Anthony L. Reno, member of the gang unit, was assigned to lead the task force. His intimate knowledge of the gang organizations was crucial to the investigations and to the future raids on gang "strongholds".
After months of investigations, during which numerous gang-related arrests were made, and subsequent murders of witnesses, Officer Reno had determined the location of a drug producing facility in Kings Row. The growing narcotics trade in the zone actually accelerated any plans for police raids concerning this gang.
The task force assembled just outside an old, abandoned warehouse in Kings Row, the suspected "drug factory" for the Skulls. As the raid commenced, several gang members gave up without resistance. As the task force continued its sweep of the warehouse, gang members became increasingly hostile towards the officers, as outright gun battles broke out inside the facility.
Officer Reno was involved in the capture of many a gang member that day, and was very wary of the dangers each group presented. Finally, Officer Reno discovered the lab inside the warehouse, and ordered the scientist cooking the narcotics to cease and desist. As Officer Reno approached the suspect in order to search and arrest him, the suspect stabbed Officer Reno in the neck with a syringe. Fortunately, Officer Reno had backup, and the suspect was apprehended and subdued.
Captured during the raid was a one "Dr. Darren A. Somniac", charged with Possession of Controlled Substances(Third offense), Manufacturing of Narcotic Substances(Third offense), Possession of Drug Paraphenalia(Third offense), Possession with intent to distribute Controlled Substances(Third offense) Assaulting an Officer(Second offense), Assault with a deadly weapon(First offense), Attempted Murder of a Police Officer in the first degree(First offense), Persistent Felony Offender.
Officer Reno was admitted to Crowne Memorial. After a full year in the hospital, Officer Reno returned to duty. After two weeks back, Officer Reno discovered he could no longer perform his duties as a police officer and resigned citing "Irreparable damage due to injuries sustained in the line of duty."

-Powers- (documented by Crey Industries, Inc.)
Scream, Power Thrust, Howl, Energy Punch, Swift, Shout, Build Up, Hover, Fly, Amplify, Health, Stamina, Bone Smasher, Conserve Power, Recall Friend, Teleport, Team Teleport, Dreadful Wail, Boost Range, Total Focus, Static Discharge, Charged Armor

Most of Officer Reno's history is a matter of public record in NYC and Paragon. Reno's powers are derived from tiny little nanobots - which were injected into Officer Reno by Dr. Somniac (how this maniacal madman got a hold of nanomachines is still under investigation.) Reno currently doesn't have a personal life, mostly due to his near-fatal stabbing and subsequent acquisition of "super-powers".
He has yet to disclose any personal information from his childhood for documentation into public record.

-Coming soon to a thread near you!-
