Breaker watched as the one Ballista he had pummeled stumbled away, and his electronic voice boomed out: "Well, no time like now to kick 'em while they're down!" With that, Breaker lifted his arm up, holding his mechanical hand up, the clawed fingers wide open, palm facing the stunned Ballista. Then, an irradiated beam of energy erupted from Breaker's palm, racing towards the Ballista...
Mechanoid and Mechaloid went flying, but Mechazoid was still on his feet, dropping his rifle as the Longbow soldiers rushed forward. Long, nasty, sharp-looking claws extended from his metal fingertips, and he slashed out at the nearest of the two with his newly-formed talons...
Fixer was still kneeling as the two Warbots went flying, retracting his cannon back into its compartment. He pulled out a small, hand-held laser pistol from a compartment around his waistline, firing it at point blank range at the other Ballista.
Dr. Mechan didn't waste any time throwing up the detention field around the Ballista that Fixer just fired at. As he did this, Functionary pulled up his rifle to his shoulder, taking careful aim at the Ballistas head. As his sensors relayed the lock-on, Functionary gently squeezed back on the trigger...
Dr. Mechan threw up a repulsion field around himself, Functionary and the two downed Warbots after Functionary took his shot. -
((I don't know if it's a good thing Dr. Mechan is in the building already, going right with Mechanomorphic and Nightshade, or not. Oh, and no worries on the 2 NPCs going in the wrong direction - just edit it out, like I'm doing with this post right now!))
Breaker lead the way for the Warbots and the Protectors, with Dr. Mechan following close behind. Their employers had charged ahead, stopped at a fork, said something about everyone else going right, while they went left.
The Assault Bot received the orders from Nightshade over the comms, so Breaker followed 'em. As did the Warbots, then the Protectors, and Dr. Mechan in tow.
Breaker saw the Ballista moving in, relaying this info to the rest of Mechan's fleet. The Warbots fanned out, and began unloading their laser charges. Fixer took a knee, while his shoulder folded away and a large, grey cannon arose out of his body. Taking aim, he fired the cannon, the energy beam heading straight towards the Ballista on the right...
Breaker wasn't having any problems, what with being shielded and all. The Ballista's blasts were mostly absorbed by the shielding, very little energy getting through, although what little that did Breaker collected to keep his energy banks charged up. "Thanks," the robotic voice bellowed at the Ballista squad, while he rushed quickly forward and smashed in the skull of the Ballista in the center of the group.
Functionary kept the repairs going on, keeping the team repaired, while firing off a few shots with his standard laser rifle.
Dr. Mechan slid the pump mechanism attached to the belly of his rifle, arming the Photon Grenade. He fired once, the two remaining Ballista going dizzy from the flash. -
((An easier way to describe Dr. Mechan - go into the game's costume creator - hit the drop down for Sets - scroll to "Robot" or "Robotic"[can't remember exactly, but either of those is close enough] - do some color rearranging, and wa-la, Dr. Mechan. Weapon is "Pulse Rifle" - colorable version to make the barrel blued. In combat, such as right now, he'll be sporting the Enforcer set of equipment: Shoulder pads, helmet/face shield/mouthpiece w/wings/chest armor/legs/gloves - however, for right now, he's decided to leave his "powered combat suit" at home - he's experimenting right now - his robotic body is quite flexible, but he's adjusted the suit to allow a bit more flexibility should he need it. He always wears the enforcer belt and shoulder pads, though. ))
Dr. Mechan proceeded inside the building, his clawed foot grasping a piece of debris from the fallen wall and his leg hefting the rock towards a Longbow Gunner that had stepped out of the elevator.
"Kill all the Longbow you see." he coldly commanded of his robots.
Dr. Mechan looked around the lobby, scanning the room through a highly advanced, robotic set of targetting sensors that appeared as eyes. The infrared scan would pick up all the warm bodies still left in the room, and beyond, while the ultraviolet scan would reveal just about everything else. -
((OOC - Soooo joining in! Have some disposal heroes & villains to throw in, and a few main characters to hop in on the action. I'm going to mainly be running this one, though:
Villain:
Dr. Mechan (Tech MM: Robotics/Force Field)
Now, can I just go ahead and jump in on the action or should I introduce him? How 'bout ... both.))
The cybernetic being sat, silent, impatiently awaiting for the trucks to stop. His gun-metal grey face didn't reflect any light what-so-ever, and his blued pulse rifle rested between his knees.
Finally, the truck came to a stop. There was some mention of guards ... -Heh, whatever.- the calculated thought was processed and discarded. Sheathing the rifle in an automatic compartment on his back, he brought his robotic left arm up, the mechanized claw-hand attached to it flexing out. Then, he brought up his right arm, an exact replica of the left arm, and began tapping at a wrist-pad with surprising accuracy and speed.
Unbeknownst to the rest of the group, Dr. Mechan was accessing a remote mainframe, housed in a warehousing facility in another country. From there, the factory produced six drones with exacting speed and precision -
Mechanoid, Battle Drone class.
Mechaloid, Battle Drone upgrade 2.
Mechazoid, Battle Drone upgrade 3. (Collectively known as the Warbots from here on out.)
Fixer, Protector Series Drone
Functionary, Protector Series upgrade 2.
Breaker, Assault Bot.
As each drone was completed, their bodies collapsing into easily transportable containers (they actually transform into these containers, not put into any containers) they were teleported on-site, ready to receive further commands.
Dr. Mechan stepped out of the truck, his robotic, clawed feet ripping up the concrete, tapping into the pad once more upon arrival of his army. -Shoot to kill & maim- for the Drones, -Bubbles up & blast support- for the Protectors, and -Destroy- for the Assault bot.
While the Protectors began their shielding operations, Mechan popped up his own shields on the Breaker.
This is Dr. Mechan - all preparations are complete. Guards are already being dealt with by the Warbots. Their only targets are flesh and blood do-gooders.
Dr. Mechan tapped into the pad one more time - this time, commanding Breaker to destroy only non-tech/non-magical stuff such as walls and furniture. Breaker's entrance brought the outside wall down upon several guards standing around on the inside of the building, while the Protectors marched in behind the massive construct.
"Ok, boys, easy on the civilian casualties this time, try to take out only security forces and cops. Command: Engage anything that gets in the way with non-lethal force first. If it remains in your way, destroy it." The flat, monotone, computerized voice of Dr. Mechan echoed throughout the lobby of the building, sending chills down the spines of all the civilians, and rattling the nerves of even the most senior of security personnel. -

In the beginning, there was only the plotness.
Then, Nemesis waved his hand, and said - "Let there be Fake Nemesis robots roaming the streets of Peregrine Island." There was, and he saw that this was good.
"Let there be a grand army of robots programmed to do my bidding, and loyal, brainwashed soldiers to follow my every command, even to dance in the streets." There was, and he saw that this was also good.
Then, Nemesis saw the plotness, and said "I shall make this plotness into my own image, molding it and shaping it into my own schemes, to outshine the very lights of the heavens, and then they shall all praise my name, for I am Nemesis, my will be done!"
And so, the plotness was absorbed into Nemesis' grand scheme of things, and it was molded, and shaped, and fit right into the grand scheme of Nemesis' design. He saw that this was good, as well, and called it Flan, for it was delicious.
However, he ate it all up. So then, he remade the plotness, growing it from scratch, mixing in bits and pieces of his grand scheme, and said "Let it be known as the Nemesis Plot, for that is all it is, and everything is a Nemesis Plot."
Excerpt from the book: [u]It's all a Nemesis Plot[u], the Book of the Plotness, chapter 1, verse 1.
Based on true events, with a touch of insanity and a bit of fiction to make it more appealing to the masses.
All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Except when it's a Nemesis Plot. -
Tucked away in a corner of the city, behind thick walls of brick and metal, a figure sat behind a large, oak office desk; browsing through old case files, Agency reports, and the occasional notes left from his assistant.
Sometime around the second Rikti invasion, the Agency was put together to provide a buffer between the people and the lunatics of the universe. Somehow, he had managed to get the funding and the city's approval to form the group, in return he had to oversee its day to day operations, while upholding the law and maintaining peace as one of the City's many heroes. Now, as Director of Paragon City's Agency One, he made sure those lunatics were stopped before they could cause any real damage.
The PPD-issued police scanner, sitting among the clutter on the desk of Officer Reno, began piping in the latest news in the Row. Anthony L. Reno listened intently as the hero known as Blue Shield called in for reinforcements to a warehouse.
"Must be serious if he's calling for backup," Officer Reno said to himself. With all the activity in the RWZ lately, all his agents were assigned to various other tasks against the alien hordes still holed up in the section formerly known as White Plains.
Flipping open his cellphone, Officer Reno dialed the number to the PPD Headquarters in the Row.
"Hey, Chief, yeah long time," he answered the Chief's enthusiastic greeting. He really should've kept in touch more with the guys at the precinct ever since that fateful raid. "Yeah, I just heard over the scanner...you know what's going on out there?" he asked as he hit a button, activating a telepad. With another button press, the telepad acquired coordinates to the Row. -

Semi-fix't. -
Talk about your plot twists. Now, we'll all see the time when Synapse started the "Savior of Pizza" portion of his career.
And it shall be glorious, indeed. -
You stand there, gazing at this seemingly plain, innocuous room. Where is the untold danger? What happened to the endless stream of power, of money?
What trickery is this?
"I bid thee welcome," a male voice pierces the very essence of silence. "You're perhaps wondering what is so special about this building?" it asks you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Have a seat," a male voice seems to bore into your head like a drill. "Wonderin' where the loot is? Oh, oh - the source of unlimited power, perhaps that is what you were seeking?" The laughter echoes through the room, down the hallway, but, more importantly, through your head.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Each voice falls silent, as if its owner is observing you, or even peering into your very soul...
Seemingly in unison, the two voices say the same thing...and you almost swear you hear two voices coming from one source...
"What do you want? Answers to what brought you here? I cannot answer that," the voice says. -
Facing you, lays a long, foreboding corridor. Where it leads to, you're not certain - however, you get this sudden urge to walk down this corridor, to follow this path. Could it lead into oblivion itself? Perhaps it will lead you into another dimension. Several thoughts run through your head as you walk down this path, including memories of missions past, and your latest victories over various criminal organizations.
While running through the motions of your most recent foray, you noticed this building standing amidst the skyscrapers of Steel Canyon; it had gone unnoticed by you in the past. Today, however, something was different about this building, something you completely didn't expect. You didn't know what to expect as you entered the building...
You're careful not to speed down this corridor ... for when you started to follow it, you noticed there were no doors along its long walls. The flickering, florescent lighting illuminated everything in the hallway, yet you felt like you were missing something with each and every step. This was just too odd, out of place, and unlike anything you would've expected from the many criminals you've previously encountered. If you were keeping track of the time via a watch or other method of time-keeping, you remember to check the time - but your watch/time-keeping device is not working.
The corridor keeps going...you're getting tired of this, your curiosity gives way to brief moments of anxiety touched with a bit anger. Who in their right mind would put such a hall in any building? Why is this light so infuriating? If you attack the walls, you feel immense pain, so excruciating, unlike anything you've ever felt in your life.

Scene 2:
As you're making your escape from your latest heist, you notice something odd in Cap au Diable - a spire unlike anything you've ever seen during your entire stay in the Rogue Isles. It almost reminds you of some sort of monument, and you immediately think of fame and fortune from robbing this place. Perhaps it could even accommodate your every whim as your own, personal hideout. Even more so was the promise of some untold power you could gain from the contents of this spire...
As you enter the spire, you're astonished by its sheer magnitude, the magnificent beauty of its decorations. Untold riches are at the very tip of your consciousness, and you reach out blindly trying to obtain it. While you're grasping at the empty air before you, something catches your eye ... a long, foreboding corridor stretches out before you...

Scene 3:
Celebratory shouts reverberate through your skull as you approach what seems to be the end of the hallway. Before you stand the largest pair of doors you've ever seen in a building - seemingly of solid wood, with large, black metallic pull handles on each door. Large, round, black metallic door knockers hang from each door, each enticing you to pull back on one and slam it against the huge door. Each door is decorated the same ... six raised panels on each, the panels outlined with the same, black metal as the handles and knockers. The top two panels are curved at the top, the metal curving with their form. Resisting the urge to knock on the door, or to slam on the door using the convenient knockers, you test a handle on the door...
The door opens...
-Fade to Black-
Complete and utter silence surrounds your very existence as you step through these doors.
Your eyes scan the room - the walls to your left and right are nearly covered by gigantic, sprawling bookshelves, appearing to be made of the same material as the doors. The hard, plain floor of the hallway gives way to a decorative carpet of unknown design and material. Neo-lanterns adorn the back wall, evenly spaced at a specific interval. They give off artificial light, not actual flame. Close to the back wall, and centered in the room, stands an enormous desk. Various items, papers, and other odd things are littered across the desktop; an orderly pattern can almost be discerned from the mess, though.
Standing before the desk, on the side closest to the doors, are two chairs, which are facing the desk. They are spaced just far enough apart to see the opposite side of the desk. Behind the desk is a tall-back chair, appearing to be made of leather. Not that new age, artificial leather, either. You're not really sure. Its back is turned to you...
Any sensations to approach the chair and peer into the eyes of its occupant are quelled, however. Something tells you to just flat out wait. -

((OOC: Hmmm, Power, you just got hit in the gut. Your character should be saying something more like .... Hmmmmmfff....you [censored]! It's ok, we can roll with this.))
"There is no hiding from the Smasher of Evil, evil-doer!" the Smasher yelled out. "I SMASH EVIL! I POUND EVIL INTO PULP!" -
It's all a Rularuu plot, but only when it's not a Nemesis plot, only if that doesn't interfere with an Arachnos plot, which is just another way of saying it's a Malta plot, but they were hired by Crey for their plot, only to be foiled by a Circle of Thorns plot, who were summarily trounced by the Clockwork plot, although, the Clockwork plot leads into the Psychic Clockwork plot, after the Rikti get done plotting in their crashed mothership, which was thought up first as a Lost plot.........
There's several plots in King's Row, and Boomtown is one big plot, with a big plot in the middle of Overbrook (which we call Faultline now!) with all the other zones only contributing minor amounts of plots...................
in order to fund the Wyvern plot, that was stolen by the latest Legacy Chain plot, only to be uncovered by a Banished Pantheon plot, which got buried again by a Devouring Earth plot....
To be Continued on the next episode of:
As the Plot Turns! -
"Masterminding babies into criminal lives is EVIL! I SMASH EVIL!" the Smasher of Evil yells as he runs in and jabs Power's as yet unnamed evil character in the gut. "EVIL - SMASHED!"
