  1. Hi all,

My first 50 was a Claws/Regen scrapper who also became my main badge collecter. She has been collecting dust in Day Jobs and I would like to update her build and start playing her again. I couldn't really figure out what to focus on (obviously softcapping def is out of the question!), so opted for recharge to get my heal and MoG up and quick as possible.

So this is what i came up with:

All comments, suggestions and advise are welcome!
  2. Thankyou all for your great suggestions!

Just to let you know, i made a Sonic/Energy blaster tonight. The sad thing is, I ended up spending my whole evening doing the following:

    a) Deciding between /Energy and /Ice (i'm still not sure!),

    b) Creating a costume with an element of theme involved,

    c) Individually colouring all of my powers in complimentary shades and

    d) Trying to find a half decent name that nobody has taken yet!

And yes, i am awful at making decisions in RL too!
  3. Hi all,

I’m trying to decide on an AT for my next 1-50 solo project – so far I have managed to get the following to lvl 50 by playing solo:

    Scrapper – Claws/Regen
    Tanker – Shield/Fire
    Controller – Ill/Rad

    Brute – DM/SR
    MM – Bots/Traps
    Corruptor – Fire/Dark

So, the choice is limited to Blaster, Defender, Stalker and Dominator – all of which I have a very limited experience with (never got any of these ATs past lvl 25, except my lvl 50 empath). I am most tempted by Blasters, as I have more inf on blueside to invest in a new alt, although the Stalker AT seems to be very solo friendly.

My first idea for a solo Blaster would be Sonic/Ice, and for a Stalker I was thinking Energy/Nin – but I would like to know what people with more experience with these ATs think before I make something new. I don’t normally ask for advice on new alts, I’m just getting a bit bored of playing an alt to the late teens/early 20s only to find out I don’t like it! I’m not looking for an AV/GM soloer, just something I can play when my SG friends aren’t online without too much faceplantiness.

    Thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks very much for the help folks! I dont think i have seen the Protector Bots use Brawl when they get in melee range - mine seem to stand there for a few seconds and then fire off a laser attack, but tbh i dont really pay too much attention to them.

It would probably be to much to ask the Devs to have a Ranged or Melee stance available to us MMs (or have somekind of 'leesh' when they are set to follow, so they dont go chasing runners across the map...) At least i've noticed that Bots seem to be better behaved than my very old Ninja MM (deleted now) - they had the opposite problem of staying back throwing their shurikens rather than going into melee...

Managed to get to lvl 26 at the end of last nights session, so i now have my full compliment of pets - just need to fast-forward time to 17:30 so i can go home and test them out!
  5. Well, the title says it all really - i have a Bots/Traps MM (lvl 25 atm) and i'm getting a bit annoyed by the AI controlling my Protector Bots. They seem to engage enemies at range first, and then run in to melee range (either in Offensive or Defensive stance). As far as i can see, they dont even have a melee attack, so why are they behaving this way? Is this a problem for all of you Bots MMs out there or am i missing something (like i usually am!) The Battle Drones seem to be perfectly happy to stay at range, and im soon to find out how the Assault Bot behaves...
  6. I often used to solo the Mender Silos TF on my Ill/Rad troller - and no, there is no 'cap' on the number of Heroes that can follow you around. I'm sure i have a screenie on my home PC of me posing with all 13 of them after finishing the TF. The trick is to scout the final map to see where all the hostages are and work out the best order to save them. When 2 or more are closely grouped, you dont stand much chance of keeping tabs on them - and Synapse will tend to Super Speed into anything, so dont worry about his kamikaze attitude! The only advice i can offer is to take it slow and do a head-count after every fight.
  7. So far my ill/rad's PA is about 9 or 10 seconds short of being perma:

    Lvl 50 IOs x 3 (slotted in PA) = 99ish%
    IO set bonuses = 43.75%
    Hasten = 70.00%
    AM = 30.00%

I have been told that it is possible to make PA perma, but i cant afford the purple sets yet to test the theory!
If anyone has a perma PA build, i would love to see it!
  8. I'd like to give it a go - I'm still classing myself as a newb (been playing for about 2 months). I currently have a Scrapper at lvl 38 - Is this too low for the Hami raid? Hopefully i will get to lvl 45 by the 26th of October!
One last question - which server are you guys doing this on?
  9. I know my toon is getting on a bit now! Need to get her up to 50 before i even consider rolling a new one
    Thanks for the advise though!
  10. Hi Everybody!
I've been playing CoH for about 1 month now, and in that time i have only done 2 Task Force missions. I have spent hours looking for teams, then give up because i can't get the minimum team requirement.
Surely there must still be regular players who would like to team up, except i can't find them!
I am now at lvl 36 with my claws/regen scrapper (Amamba), and although i have made some very good friends, no one seems to be interested in meeting on a regular basis to do the big missions.
If anyone would like to help me out, i'm on nearly every evening from 7pm GMT, just do a /sea for 'Amamba'!!!
  11. Hi Eiceman!

You probably know my toon 'Amamba' - we met trying to get a team for the Terra Volta respec TF.
Anyway - I have a level 6 katana/regen by the name of Apanda that can join your scrapper team if you're interested. Just send me a tell as i'll probably forget! (I'm usually logged on as Amamba)
