Quote:I constructed some excellent speculation on this on the Repeat Offenders forums.Just a thought but if you're able to switch sides sort of on the fly does that mean influence and infamy with be, converted, unified, eliminated? I hope it isn't the later, but obviously too earlier to tell.
Like you, I await moar information on GR. -

Heya QL - Level 47's are "eligible" to drop level 50 recipes (+3 to them), so WAI.

Quote:Seconded. As a final note, I know it's not a nomination-based award, but if we were allowed to nominate people for Bug Hunter I'd absolutely ask them to give it to Archie. His utility will be invaluable to testers going forward, as others have said, and will be a great bug-hunting tool.

From Test (I'm struggling with bringing the output over to the forums here)...
late Monday PM (1 newspaper mish)
Pool A: 3.33 / 4 / 1-9 /120
Salvage: 6.39 / 7 / 4-15 / 110
early Tuesday AM (1 newspaper mish + 1 Ouro mish)
Pool A: 2.88 / 11 / 6-18 / 382
Salvage: 11.09 / 38 / 19-39 / 343
Actuals are within the expected range.
Forgot to check for rares, but I do know that I received 0 ultra rares. -
Just as I figured they would.
Well done, PS...well done! -
Over time there have been one-zies and two-zies that have posted in response to the "purple topic de jour"... that they've never received a purple drop...despite running nothing but there 50s through ITFs or STF/LRSFs or newspapers.
I'd always dismissed their cries as noise or hyperbole, but maybe they were legitimate concerns afterall.
From what I understand (in light of the data posted herein), random being random and all...some people have been severely affected while some have barely been affected. -
Based upon Synapse's (or Posi?) response on the "weighed Merit Reward" discussion, I concluded that they are able to see everyone's build.
-
Oddly, I've gotten more purples while testing the i16 drop bug than since i14 went live. All put up for sale.
I've got 14(?)...15(?) 50s and about only 30 purples among them. Even at today's prices, I could afford several sets across 3 servers, but I don't find them incredibly necessary.
It's got me thinking...if the Devs are okay with the purple proliferation that's sure to come (once the recipe bug fix goes live) then how much are they dialing up the critter (optional?) difficulty in COX:GR? -
Too funny!
Oh...and thanks a lot, Synapse, for communicating the status to us before the weekend. It saved the testers lots of time and alleviated lots of general tension and frustration too. Now we have something to look forward to next week! -

Good stuff...and I expect you to post some data before you head home for the evening.

Either this thing is truly random or that's a good start for getting to the bottom of it.
Ouro has yielded the same gawd-awful results for me as "real-time" missions.
Grasping at straws here...
-What "add-on's" do you have on that account?
Science pack? Magic pack? Good-Evil? etc.
-Are you earning xp?
-Do you have the Chronologist dayjob badge (the one for a Mission Complete recipe bonus)?
-Does your toon "wear" a badge title? (e.g., Gearsmasher, Hero of the City, etc.) -
Quote:That Archer...Task Force mode may be a factor in this problem.
Two days ago, I ran a Positron Task Force in a duo, and the recipe drops were a lot higher than I've seen since the issue went live; it felt like they were back to "normal". That got me thinking, maybe Synapse's runs were done in Ouroboros, which uses Task Force mode. So I hopped into my Archer and started the "A Hero's Hero" arc...
has it ever been server xfer'd?
has it ever been renamed?
has it ever belonged to an SG?
does it belongs to an SG now?
if so, does it run in SG mode?
does it have any other arcs open?
thanks! -
That may indeed explain Synapse's POV.
OTOH, I've also accessed Abyss (on my Brute) via Ouro and have seen bugged drops still. (And yes, I realize these are two separate animals.)
I'll add the "Ouro factor" to my short list of conditions to test.
Has anyone tested with a toon that's *not* in an SG at all?
I can do so when I get home, but what I'd *really* like to do is...
1. quit SG
1a. re-log
1b. test
2. clear global friends list
2a. re-log
2b. test
3. xfer to new server
3a. test -
Sacrificing a little sleep, I ran the first Abyss mish during the 6am eastern hour this morning just to test the "lag equals crappy drops theory".
I didn't perform a complete run, but being somewhat familiar with the length of the mission, I estimated that I completed about 40-60% of a run.
Set for -1/x8, my 50 Brute received 2 common recipe drops.
I didn't not account for salvage drops.
Like I said upthread, I'll test this map out plenty more this week.
Edit: This is NOT intended to be data. Maybe just a little piece of the same ol' nugget. -
Quote:Thinking about this some more...Conditions on Live are different, the random number generator is hit far more often, and there might be a contributing factor in the lag and occasional loss of sync on Live that are not possible on your internal test server.
I'll wait until the weekend, so that I don't put myself in the hurt locker lol, but I'm gonna run the Abyss mish during early AM (eastern U.S., non-peak hours) to see if the results are dramatically different from my peak-hour runs. -
-
Quote:Thanks for the response, Synapse. The way I tested this is load up the first mission given out by Abyss (as a number of players mentioned this in their tests). I then set my difficulty to 8x and +0. I then went through this mission 5 times internally and 10 times on the training room and the results were very consistent:
-14 to 19 recipes per mission
-5 to 8 enhancements per mission
-30 to 51 salvage per mission
However, like UberGuy, I'm a loss on why the mounds of data in this thread are not being properly accounted.
I have personal and coalition obligations over the next two evenings, but I'm gonna run this Abyss mish *to death* before the weekend...and I'll post the data. I hope others can do the same. -
Walleye and EarthWyrm: Thanks. I'll try the LTV (and Nemesis as well) this week with varying set-ups.
