  1. Although it had been ordered not to be concerned about the extravagence of the arena nor the obviously illegal sport that it condoned, the prototype still had to wonder where the funding for all this came from and who was responsible for all this.

No sooner had the remains of the first warmachine been cleared, its explosion muffled by a hefty application of shield power, then the second prisoner had been thrust out and into the arms of the Mark III Executioner. Odds that the prisoner would survive steadily decreased, in the prototype's eyes, and it took a moment to send a transmission to Gears, the guard who oversaw the modifications that most of the non-sentient robotic prisoners recieved.

It would seem that the program you concocted to change the alleigance of the 5th Column androids has worked well, said the prototype, its words appearing on the PDA Gears always carried around with a slight chime. However it would also be best to simply erase the entire program and upload the android with something harder to decieve. If you aren't yet watching the Arena, I would suggest you do so now. Your pet Executioners are having more trouble than you would think.

Turning its attention back to its duties, and ordering a drone to incapacitate prisoner 43658-90 for trying to start a fight, the prototype watched Michael fight, analyzing and compiling this example of 5th Column training applied to advanced medieval weaponry in action.
  2. "Ah, Dr. Greene," came a familiar mechanical voice from behind the doctor.

The Longbow standing on either side of the doctor stepped away as the Mastermind prototype moved forward and offered the man a steadying hand. A motion with the other hand ordered the two operatives to leave, which they did.

"Welcome to your first time at the Arena, Dr. Greene," the prototype said as it guided the man through a steel door and up a flight of stairs to the area above the Arena where the seats were.

The other several hundred prisoners moving to their seats were unusually quiet, the larger than average number of battle drones present giving them a feeling that something was up. The drones were stationed at the end of every row of seats and there was even a pair on the floor of the arena, watching the gates that would let the first contestants in.

The prototype led Dr. Greene to a bench next to a small hut structure that contained the controls to the dampener field around the Arena, private seats for the Warden and several others, and enough personnal shielding to turn it into a miniature fort should there be a breakout.

As the Warden personnaly attended every Arena fight, it was little surprise to see that he was already in the box and sitting with several other men, most of whom were elite guards equipped with Crey produced power suits and the training to match. The prototype exchanged a nod with the Warden and then moved to a position just flanking the box. It was its job to isolate the combatants should things get out of hand. There had yet to be a power dampened prisoner who could break out of the detention field the prototype's twin force field generators could produce.

"All drones are in place and my generators are at 100% efficiency, Warden," the prototype said over the comm line. "The last of the prisoners are filtering in. We may begin when ever you wish."
  3. Okay. I'm a bit more used to everyone deciding that now was the time to move forward a day rather than it just happening.

    Now then, posting time.
  4. I'm pretty sure they call the solitary cells 'The Pit' cause when you get stuck in there, all you see is blackness.

And there might be something else moving, just over in those shadows...

Anyway, I'm a bit confused. Has the thread suddenly skipped forward a day or are we still in the first day (aka when everyone was brought in)?
  5. *takes a pamphlet*

So I take it we're sort of getting into how Thysthe became a bounty hunter now? This is cool.

But I have to ask, is this stuff all new or is it originally part of the large base of writing that you've mentioned before that you have on Acid's universe?

Remind me to ask you to have a look at that stuff someday.

    *browses pamphlet*
  6. OOC: Lol, Averick just made his 1337est post.

BIC: The prototype returned its head to its proper upright position and scanned the prisoners again as it answered.

"Incorrect," it stated. "At this point in time all newly aquired prisoners muct refer to myself as Mastermind Droid Control Prototype Mark 2. Any uses of more familiar names shall be punished. Any queries projected without my proper name but also without a more familiar name shall be ignored."

There was a sudden clicking noise and multiple panels opened up all over the prototype's body. Its hands became a blur as its pulse rifle was disassembled into numerous black chunks of plastic and placed inside each of these compartments, which snapped back into place when the prototype was finished.

"Scans indicate a disturbance in Block 3 that I must attend too. Additional lines of query also reveal that cell assignment shall be completed within the next ten minutes. I suggest you say your goodbyes."

Then the prototype spun neatly around on one heel and started to walk out of the room. Curiously, its four drones stayed behind and readied their weapons, aiming into the cage. About halfway to the door, the prototype looked over its shoulder.

"My apoligies, but protocal states I must remind you that no one is your friend here."

At that statement, each drone fired a high powered stunning blast, the equivilent of a taser and a half, at Penny, Dr. Greene, Twilight Pistol, and Michael. In order to affect her, the drone aiming at Penny specifically aimed for her head, avoiding the armor as much as possible.

These stun blasts would knock out less hardy prisoners for a few minutes while providing extreme discomfort to tougher ones. After logging the reaction of each person to the stun blasts, the prototype called its drones too it and left the room.

OOC: Oh right. You can find a picture of Grey, or the prototype, or Toy, in the link below. Just imagine all his colors as grey and ignore the cape.
  7. Ghoul ignored Player-1's entrance to gape at the electric guy. It wasn't everyday that you saw a man jump out of a wall socket.

...ok, well, he hadn't seen a guy with electric powers in a while, so what?

"How the hell do you make business in this raquet?" Ghoul asked the bartender as he gulped down half his drink in one swallow. "Must get a lotta friendly fire, ya know what I mean?"
  8. OOC: The drones that follow around Grey are like the standard mastermind battle drones. The little skeletal guys with the lasers and maces.

BIC: The prototype tilted its head and looked at Penny, ignoring the other questioners as they had neglected to address their questions specifically to the prototype.

"I use a blank template model impressed with general codes of conduct and extensive knowledge of laws. A human conducts interrogations and personnal conferences, so I am not privy to which style of psychological evaluation that they use," the prototype said to Penny. "In regards to eye wear or any confiscated items: They shall not be returned until your successful rehabilitation. If eyewear is required for normal operations, then a new set shall be procured for you. Since Prisoner 834207 does not have a medical reason listed in his file, he shall not recieve new sunglasses."

"Yo, smart guy," grunted the guard at the door to Dr. Greene. "A little hint. You want the bot to talk to ya, you gotta address it by name. It really likes the name Grey, by the way."

When Penny had looked at the battle drone, it had stared right back at her with all five of its glowing red photoreceptors. The drone's left arm flexed slightly, revealing congealed blood stuck on the end of its mace-hand.

The drone situated behind Twilight Pistol took one step back and raised its right arm. Currently the laser was set to stun only and it would fire given the slightest order from the prototype.

Finally, while it had been talking, the prototype was persuing several lines of inquiry regarding the rescricted data in Penny's file. It needed to know as much relevent data as possible. The less surprises, the better.
  9. "Welcome to the Ziggursky Maximum Security Prison," said the prototype in its standard monotone. "Depending on the severity of your delusions, your stay here may last as little as one year or as long as your entire natural life. Upon returning to an acceptable state of mind, you shall be released back into society. However, research into your files indicates that only a few of you shall be exiting via the main door. The remainder shall most likely perish in some fashion and be cremated and buried on location.

"My designation is Mastermind Droid Control Prototype Mark 2. You shall refer to me as such until it has been deemed that you may address me by a shorter form. As I am here to test my functionalities in a wide variety of circumstances, I have been giving full dispensation to injure troublesome prisoners in any way of my choosing, provided that you remain alive afterward. In extreme cases I am fully authorized to kill you. However, the other guards will not hesitate to shoot to kill if I am not around.

"Since some of you are currently in Ziggursky for the first time, I shall be accompanying your group to most areas for the first week."

The prototype finally stopped speaking and looked around at the newbies.

"I am glad to see that I was not interupted. In this case, I shall be pleased to answer any questions you might have regarding your stay here."

In the background, one of the guards facepalmed and slipped a couple of bills to the guard next to him. Apparently they had been betting on whether or not this batch would be quiet for the whole speech.
  10. In the LMOUSVEV base, present time...

Toy Dispenser was sitting at the main conference table, legs propped up on a chair he had dragged over to him. He was using one of the laptops built into the table to check various internet accounts and the news when the double door leading into the room slid open, revealing Brutish Ghoul.

The brute flopped down in the chair across from Toy and noisily slurped at his Fruit Loops. Fairly used to Ghoul wandering around base eating cereal when he wasn't out somewhere, Toy ignored the noise and concentrated on his work. He was a bit startled when Ghoul asked him a question.

"Hey Toy, you worked as a guard back in tha Zig, right?"

Toy looked up from his work, his head titled a bit to one side as he looked at Ghoul.

"Yeah, they had me working as the automated defense mainframe while I interacted with the prisoners and such."

"What was it like on the other side of the door?" Ghoul asked inbetween slurps.

"Well, it was-...." Toy started and then trailed off as he searched the beginnings of his memory for information on the Zig. "...odd. Most of my active memory before my awakening seems to have been deleted."

"Oh well," Ghoul said with his mouth full. "No' tha' imporan' really."

Still eating, Ghoul got back up and walked out of the conference room, the doors sliding silently shut behind him. His concentration broken for now, Toy leaned back in his chair and tried to reconstruct his memories from the time he was still a slave.

    *************************************************

The Mastermind Droid Control Prototype Mark 2 stalked down the hallways of the Zig, it's entourage of four prison-modified battle drones trailing along behind like a pack of faithful dogs. The prototype had just finished quelling a disruption between several Trolls and several other Council and its pulse rifle was still warm from when it had been forced to shoot the ringleaders through their legs.

The two gang members had all been placed in solitary for a day and the ringleaders sent to the hospital for treatment before their stint in the Pit. The prototype was thus satisfied with the outcome and with the valuable data it had collected on prisoner interactions and the effects of Superadine withdrawal on Troll pain tolerance.

But now the remote cameras were reporting a new batch of prisoners coming in, most of them 'independant' criminals rather than the gang bangers who were most prevalent. The prototype highlighted the names and numbers of the new batch and determined their location to be Holding Cell 3. Now would be a very good oppertunity to observe these criminals before they had been broken into the prison system.

The prototype's entrance into the holding cell area was rather unremarkable, as was its very state of being. Painted in a flat gray primer coat, the same color as its attendant drones, the prototype looked very unthreatening even if one included the pulse rifle cradled in both hands.

"Heh heh," chuckled one of the guards stationed near the holding cell. "Gray's here. Looks like you poor [censored] are marked."

The prototype glanced at the guard who had spoken, recognizing the nickname the prison guards had bestowed upon it. Ignoring this comment as it had all the others, the prototype stopped several feet from the large cell and surveyed the prisoners within. Its four drones spread out, one sticking by the prototype while the other three moved to each of the other walls. By linking with their systems, the prototype could see the prisoners from four different directions, making sure nothing would hide them.

Since first contact protocals dictated that the prototype wait for an initial reaction before interacting with the new prisoners, it stood silently and watched.

OOC: Hope this is allowed. Always wanted to give Toy's story before he became Toy.
  11. >_____________>

    <_____________<

    *breaks out his Robot-in-Suit costume*

Toy Dispenser: <_< What? I'm perfectly casual wearing clothing over my armor.
  12. "Oh come on! Don't tell me that's ALL you got!" shouted the massive, grey-skinned brute at a prone, blue and green clad man.

"Nah, Ah finkf ah'm domef..." muttered the hero as he held his bleeding nose with one hand and the bone protruding from his thigh with the other. "Asf soom asf mah beacom kicths inf, ah'm gome."

Almost as soon as he had said that, the hero started fading out as his medi-porter finally kicked in. The brute was soon left with nothing more than some blood stains on the ground and since he wasn't a vampire he didn't give a damn about those.

"Not a single challenge in this whole damned zone," Brutish Ghoul cursed as he irritably punted a trashcan straight into the head of a passing Shivan.

The alien monstrosity stumbled back, stunned, and then turned and attacked the nearest human, which happened to be a small patrol of Freakshow. The ensuing battle did little to calm Ghoul's nerves.

"[censored]," he said. "Might as well go check out that bar or whatever Mechcanical Mayhem said had opened. I could use a drink."

Bounding into the air, Ghoul started searching for the location of this new bar, just about the only one set up in Bloody Bay that was still open, really. After interrogating a couple of Freaks, the brute was finally able to find the place and pushed the door open.

Pausing for a moment to scan the clientel, there sure were a lot more people than Ghoul had expected, the brute eventually stepped inside and pulled up a seat at the bar next to some woman. He glanced over the barkeep's head to check out what was in stock but couldn't decide what to try. Truth to tell, Ghoul hadn't had a beer since he had started working as a thug and couldn't remember what was good or not.

"I'll have whatever he's having," Ghoul told the bartender, hooking a thumb at an Arachnos Wolf Spider sitting, almost passed out, at a table with a Longbow Spec Ops trooper.

  14. OOC: Obviously you're a girl, Fang. You use way too many emotes to be a guy. Everyone knows that guys are steely and expressionless.

    Like this.

    ...

    ...

    ...

On a side note: Someone go poke Wolf a couple of times.

And: *kicks Devious in the shin* >_> Stop stalking me.
  15. OOC: Spoke with Wolf online. She said it was alright for me to do my thing. I'll just start setting things up while Fang finishes her bit.

BIC: "Welcome to the Toy Dispensery, home for all your child's needs!!" read the web page's title in bright, cheery colors.

A navigation bar scrolled down the left side of the screen with helping expanding boxes for each choice popping up when scrolled over to inform the browser of exactly where everything lead. Aside from reading the news of the small toy making company on the main page and admiring the picture of its main, top-of-the-line factory in Brazil, one could also peruse through its latest selection of models-

Try out the new Mackie Chin Kung-foo Fighter! action figure! Now with five different realistic kung-foo moves!

-to a listing of charities that 10% of all online proceeds went too-

This month's charity earnings are going to the study to find a cure for cancer, based in New York City, USA!

-to a short biography about the founding owner of the Toy Dispensery.

Mr. Gelatto originally worked for a much larger toy company that has sinced gone bankrupt and dissolved. When the company dissolved, Mr. Gelotto decided that now was the time to create a toy company based on fair business practices and a real desire to let children have fun!

At the very bottom of the biography page was a link to take one back to the homepage of Toy Dispensery Inc. However, when clicked on, it appeared as though the link was broken, seeing as how any browser would come back with a DNS, "Cannot find server," error. But those who knew what to look for would know that clicking on the red Back text at the bottom of that page would lead one to a simple, single page website. It read something like this:

The Legion of Mismatched or Otherwise Unorthodox but Still Very Evil Villains homepage

    LMOUSVEV: Long name, quality villainy

What followed after that were several blank fields labeled with such terms as Meeting Location (Optional), Down Payment, Amount Due Upon Completion, Target(s) name(s), and Operative Requested (Optional).

Below these empty fields were several examples already filled out in case the user didn't know exactly what to write. All in all it was a relatively simple, well-hidden method to recruit a band of mercenaries for a job of some sort. This would normally be unremarkable, after all, mercenaries were always being hired by someone for something, except for what several of the fields were filled out with.

Target(s) Name(s): The Dojo of Lurking Shadow

    Operative Requested: Toy Dispenser

    Down Payment: $100,000,000 USD

Amount Due Upon Completion: $900,000,000 USD

After all that, at the bottom of the page, was a green button labeled SEND. Clicking it would trigger an amusing little animation to signal that the request had gone through.

The stampede of chibi-fied heroes, ones that would typically be seen on the news, fleeing before a large crowd of evil looking villains lead by a single villain dressed in the same cheery colors as the Toy Dispensery Inc title page failed to get even a chuckle or smirk from the user.

People these days, not a single funny bone in their whole body.
  16. OOC: Roger roger.

    *pokes CrimsonWolf*
  17. OOC: Soooooooo very tempted to hop in with an invasion-esque thing. But Fang has her own thing going on right now...

Would a sudden mercenary attack throw your plot thingie completely out of whack or can I hop in to have some fun? And I guess that question would be addressed to both Fang and Wolf, seeing as how the latter is the GM.
  18. Already do the responses deviate from the desired set.

    Anywho, No.
  19. Oh yeah, since I effectively failed by own challenge long, long ago, I'd like to open this topic up for other people.

If you've got an idea for a Villain Group character and you just can't find a way to fit him into the current AT system, write him out here and then RP with the sucker.

Want to stretch your mind like I was trying to do and think outside of the AT box a bit, pick a group and make a character.

Just try and keep things to the same basic format and don't hesitate to make up power sets or pair up odd sets in order to get an interesting result.

But do try and stick to NPC groups, completely original characters like Devious's dudes can go somewhere else. Maybe a Devious's Deviate Demonstration of Doom thread?

    *shrug* Don't look at me.
  20. Y harro thar old thread.

    KCCC: HAY THAR KHELL!

Ready to get some new ideas?

    KCCC: YAR!!!

    *ahem*

    Affiliation: Warriors
    Name: Jimmy 'Honorius' Cox
    Unit Type: Hewer
    AT: Battle Axe/Invulnerability Brute
    Height: 5' 11"
    Age: 27
    Hair: Dark brown, long
    Eyes: Red
Notable features: Numerous scars on hands, forearms, and back

Biography: Jimmy 'Honorius' Cox is a hardcore Warrior. He's fully into the whole ancient Greek mythology thing and believes that fighting up close and personnal is the only way to fight. Unfortunately, poor Jimmy is also a sadomasochist, delighting in dealing out and recieving pain.

Although exceptionally skilled with his axe and brutal enough for three men, Jimmy displays a potent lack of leadership, preferring to just charge and take care of any problem with a couple sweeps of his weapon. As such he remains at the same rank while his younger brother quickly ascends through the ranks to match him.

Aside from his close relationship with pain, the only other thing in Jimmy's life that matters to him is his little brother. He makes sure that Tommy will never learn of his 'problems' and tries his best to keep his little brother protected from the good-for-nothing heroes.

*goes out for a couple of hours, comes back* Where was I? Oh yeah.

Synopsis: Jimmy, or Honorius as he goes when on gang business, is a tough character. While only classified as a lieutenant, he is quite capable of taking out a hero all on his own. This is due to his supreme tolerance to pain, which is actually the result of a slight mutation to his DNA. This mutation has sort of merged the pain/pleasure parts of his brain and also made his skin and bones much tougher than a normal human.

Skill Set – Invulnerability: Almost exactly like the standard invulnerability set except for the lack of higher tier powers. These are replaced by a rage power that increases his damage dealt as his health drops, much like Defiance. This, combined with standard Brute Fury, can make him VERY powerful in a long fight.

    Affiliation: Warriors
    Name: Tommy ‘Neoptalomus’ Cox
    Unit Type: Slasher/Crusher
    AT: Mace/Broadsword Scrapper
    Height: 5’ 10”
    Age: 25
    Hair: Light brown, short
    Eyes: Green
    Notable features: Powerful psychic/magical aura

Biography: Tommy is another true believer in the Warriors’ way. He believes in honor, fair play, and robbing from the rich to give to the poor. He would have made an excellent social worker or hero, but due to a hero complex about his brother he decided to join the Warriors and help them take the fight to the real bad guys, the Tsoo, Freakshow, and Circle of Thorns.

Although he started as a rather unathletic, gawky teenager, Tommy threw himself into training with abandon. He proved to be a natural with the mace, able to pound out blows strong enough to shatter limbs and precisely calibrated taps to only knock out. In fact, he proved to be so good at handling his mace that he outstripped the standard training regimen by a good margin. He filled up the rest of his time learning how to use a sword as a back-up weapon.

At this point in time he’s gotten used to wielding both weapons at the same time, utilizing the crushing power of his mace and cutting ability of his sword with unique skill and efficiency. But this isn’t all of Tommy’s talents. Not only is he gifted with the blade and mace, but he also has a slight mutant power to be able to detect magical objects and have a rough idea of what they can do. This has made him indispensable to the leaders of the Warriors and Tommy has been assigned a permanent guard, despite his relatively low rank in the gang.

Synopsis: Tommy, or Neoptalomus, just wants to make people happy and do the right thing. As such, he tries to avoid participating in any blatant acts of robbery or assault, though sometimes Jimmy can convince him to come along anyway. When faced with a hero, Tommy will always surrender unless that hero hurts his brother. Then he’ll steel himself on the inside and charge in to save his big brother.

Skill Set – Mace/Broadsword: Dual wielding a mace and broadsword and able to use every single attack skill is what this power set is. Tommy has absolutely no defense aside from his training, which amounts to the standard defense normal enemies have. The main advantage of this set is the ability to deal out horrendous amounts of damage in a short period of time and then keep doing it.

Kekekekekekekekekeke. Let’s see if we can get this started up again, eh?
  21. Oh lawd, two against five or so. Good luck, dudes, good luck.

Huh? Oh, I'm wishing the Concile good luck. Have to be fair here, you know.
  22. But.... What would happen if the Concile developed a system to block teleporters?

    Anywho, go Allen!
  23. OOC: So, lessee,.......

What the heck happened? I think I left about half-way through this thing, anyway. I don't remember anything about a terrorist attack.
  24. Statesman and friends are in a dark room where Lord Recluse is lurking.

Lord Recluse (As just a pair of glowing red eyes in the darkness): You fools! Little do you know of what you have awakened! BEHOLD THE POWER OF-!!!

Lights flash on, revealing Lord Recluse wearing a frilly tango outfit and posing.

    Lord Recluse: - THE DANCE!!!
  25. OOC: I may or may not rejoin with a completely different character. It all depends on whether or not I can get out of this annoying [censored] slump I'm in.
